  • Trevita means three white in Swedish, thus Koenigsegg's latest is limited to three breathtakingly handbuilt cars. Strip away the carbon fiber and you'll find a bespoke 4.8-liter V8 yielding 1018 hp - same as the Bugatti Veyron at half the weight!

    Mr. Von Koenigsegg is a true engineers engineer. Unbelievable to think in a little more than a decade, he has built and produced cars that rival the great manufacturers (Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi, ect.) To build a complete car in house from chassis, interior, suspension, and their own engine and transmission, truly revolutionary and inspirational.

      It's a modified ford engine. Still impressive though, but I still haven't heard of one on a track competing against other cars. That would be glorious.

      I Am The Way They had used Ford engines before. I think the cc8s and ccr used Ford based engines. The ccx and beyond use their own engines. Also Nurburgring lap times should be on the way. They're running the one:1 I believe.

    • @tofsen12345

      I Am The Way Ugh, they used a ford engine only in the cc8s and ccr, Christian has also promised to do a timed lap around the Nurburgring with the Agera R and One:1 this summer.

      Matt Rupp i remember seeing one of his cars about 15+ years ago. it was a prototype with a PRV engine i think. (taken from a volvo) it had twin turbo's, cat's and then straight out. it was a loud car ;) and a fast car ;) still nothing like this ;) the first real prototype had a Audi engine.

    This guy is building the best supercars on the planet! You can even tell through watching the video how perfectly everything works and fits together. The doors shut so precisely and the engineering is just amazing. This guy now holds the world record at 277 mph average on two runs down a public road in Nevada or Arizona. He hits 280+ mph on the pass that was going downhill and went 275 going uphill. He set the world record in a different car but this model looks better than the newer ones to me! He is definitely raising the bar for the supercar manufacturers.

    A note to Mr Leno and crew: thanks so much for providing an entertaining and informative youtube channel for us all to enjoy. As time goes on, Jay continues to create these mini-documentaries about remarkable rides. Some of my favorites have been the Mercedes Gullwing, the Citroen DS, the original and un-restored E-type, and it's been really interesting to learn about the various steam-car technologies. My suggestion for some future episodes, if I may? The Porsche 928 AND the Maserati Bora.

Pure passion just isn't enough. You need the exact set of circumstances to occur to allow a person to achieve such a feat of engineering.

      @@APAL880 I don't think the Harsh comment was about being rude, it did seem like a funny _dig_ , as any engineer is familiar with the metric and imperial systems. I'm old enough to remember the early push to get off the Imperial system. They said it would take a while because factories would have to re tool, text books would have to be modified, etc. Yet, here we are 50 years later, still converting back and forth. We now have vehicles with metric and standard bolts, construction industry remains unchanged and school text books are a mix as well. It seems people are nationalistic about their measurement systems. There are a ton of articles about the conversion to metric and some pretty good (if not surprising) reasons to maintain a dual system like we have in the US. Fun fact: The US was the first country to adopt a metric monetary system. Another system where there is resistance to change is the electrical system.

      Converting kg to pounds quickly in your head is quite easy really.
      For kg to pounds you double the number, from pounds to kilo you cut it in half. 1000 kg (1 ton) = roughly 2000 lbs.
      It's not super precise but it'll give you a good idea of what's being talked about.
      1 pound = 0.45 kg | 1 kg = 2.2 pounds

    • @Ryu_Makkuro
      @Ryu_Makkuro 8 років тому +41

      That's not the normal version. It's literally a special version of a special version of a CCX. CCX comes with 830-920 BHP (depending on the fuel), standard CCXR comes with around 1030BHP and the Trevita CCXR is 1080BHP. Naturally those figures are with biofuel, just as with CCX, depends on the fuel you're using.
      In short, the car that tried to kill the Stig had less power and torque than this one xD

    • @martijn9729
      @martijn9729 8 років тому

      And it didn't have a wing. The Stig recommended they fitted a wing, take the reduction in too speed from the extra drag and then the car wouldn't try to kill the customers. And they listened to him, fitted the spoiler and sent it back to Top Gear.
