Look at this rate its gonna take me 50 years to be able to own a modest home, I'll be damned if I'm gonna let some spider legged little shit barge in and stay rent free. Eldritch horror or not, it's gonna at least be paying utilities.
I remember giggling at the Marianas Trench part of Deep Blue because literally every single video about the “horrors of the Marianas trench” shows that exact picture of what is most definitely NOT the Marianas Trench. I think it’s called the great blue hole or something?
Shout-out to Wendigoon for listening to his audience, I didn't see the original video so idk how bad the audio may have been but to see someone redo the whole video to make his audience enjoy it more is extremely respectable, especially for a channel as big as him.
I can see it both ways, but I like the idea of it being Nature being the one doing the mocking as alot of horror makes it being Humanity's mockery of nature or something outside of nature all together.
In the part where they talked about the solar system, they say that Jupiters big red spot is not an eye. After that the screen flashes and the text fades to "its an open wound" shortly which may suggest that Jupiter is or was "infected" aswell.
perhaps the iris works like a giant version of a wood crawler? as in it slams into planets and mutates them and drains them until nothing is left acting like a giant version of the wood crawler infection then it uproots itself and finds another planet to slam into leaving behind the "open wound" storms on planets. though perhaps a planet needs a certain amount of red roots already present in order for the iris to have access to a feeding web once it impacts
Maybe Jupiter is alive too, like the iris, but wants to be friends with the planets, maybe Neptune shot a laser at Saturn but hit Jupiter instead because Jupiter blocked the laser
@Dayton Crandlemire no I disagree. The people that are truly the scariest are ones that pretend to not be instinct-driven and can be both animalistic and neurologically driven at the same time. The people that pretend to care, that hide their motives behind false expressions and laughter. Those are the people that truly are terrifying.
I think that the "feeding the woods" is done not just by having the children get lost and 'eaten' by the woods, but by their screaming luring adults into the woods as well. That's why the cop car is shown being pulled underground, as the police would have been called because of screams coming from the woods. Also why the wildlife survival video insists that you should avoid the screams and that they are just a hallucination. That's just my speculation, though.
I think this is really interesting to think about, especially since the kids are in the woods and so alone. Per the bystander effect, humans are less likely to help others if there are other people present; but seeing how those kids aren't visible to anyone who may call for help, that may not be a problem. I wonder if that's something deep see aliens would take into consideration??
Also in Storm Safety it briefly changes from "Only turn on radio in the event of _an_ emergency" to "Only turn on radio in the event of _the_ emergency."
consuming planets entirly is unlikely unless its the great devourers like blackholes but planetary parasites are totally possible because we see such eco system destorying life forms on earth like locusts they arrive drain a area of all life and resources then leave to find a new one thus a spaceborn species or interstellar species with the same characteristic and mindset could and most likely do exist somewhere out there.
I'm a night shift janitor at a med school, and made the same mistake. It gets even worse when I walk through the nurse sim room and pass all the robotic training dummies.
I watched those videos over a year ago and I still get up in the middle of the night thinking that red thing in the thumbnail is sitting in the chair next to me when really it’s just a pile of clothes
When i leave my room it leads to a hallway and at the end there is a chair so every single time i wake up at the middle of the nigth and leave my room that is the first thing i see
Yeah, I found that episode to be the creepiest (out of those that I’ve seen), with the repeated sad face popping up on the screen and the final “Found you!”.
I believe that the screams being called as "auditory hallucinations" is just genuinely kids being sacrificed, so because you are told to stay away from these delusions - in reality, you are ignoring the kids being led to death.
I prefer the idea that the screaming is meant to lead you in as additional bait, and if the screaming's going on, its too late for them and it's better to GTFO
I’ve slowly gotten sucked into this channel. It’s like the only channel that covers horror ARG without giving me ASMR or being way too upbeat and yelling at me
Cosmic horror is so fucking terrifying. Especially when it’s presented in this short form narrative where you have fill in the blanks yourself and your own imagination is more terrifying than the the story is telling. Truly chilling, this video alone gave me chills and goosebumps. Thank you for sharing this, I look forward to checking this channel out as well as Local58
@@visiblyhuman2660 been reading HP Lovecraft for over a decade now, easily one of my favorite American writers to ever exist. My next tattoo I’m getting is going to be Dagon worshippers ha ha...
it’s the only genre that truly terrifies me. probably because it plays on your fear of the unknown and gives you the most terrifying and unfathomable scenarios that makes you feel totally helpless. i was riddled with anxiety for over a month after reading ‘the hounds of tindalos’.
Yeah, cosmic horror/lovecraftian horror is great because it genuinely able to activate "flight or fight" mode in reader's mind. The fear or unknown and, which is more important, fear of incomprehensible is probably the strongest one. Because we can understand (at least to some degree) serial killers, semi-fictional creatures and etc. But cosmic horror creates this situation where nothing you know can help you, nothing you know applies to the situation and the whole thing doesn't make sense. H.P. Lovecraft said "We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far" and it's honestly one of my favourite quotes of all time.
The entirety of “Fun Games for Kids” I believe is actually showing the hunting method of wood crawlers, in which they locate and incapacitate their prey, take their bodies and control them, then restart the process by luring in more humans.
Take the children, make them a decoy, **Kill responding adults.** Or in the case of the skinwalkers, they take a person, turn them into a vessel and set them loose on the other campers, killing them in droves. To quote Olgilvy from the war of the worlds, "this isn't a war. This is an extermination."
Well, our 'normal' tears actually contain Salt-ions, that why they taste salty and our eyes kinda hurt and turn red when we cry. So i guess the series is trying to say that their tears are filled with *actual* salt wich it is indeed concerning.
The hallucination noise played on the radio in storm safety is probably how the woodcrawlers communicate. The reason they they tell you to turn it on during a storm is probably so the woodstalkers would think that the place your hiding in is already occupied by them. Its shown in the videogame that the shelter can be easily be broken down by the woodstalkers meaning the radio is the only thing that can really protect you.
but in the video game, the light from the dome came after the woodcrawler mysteriously disappears. not sure but i think the videogame character is dead OR the dome freaking murdered the woodcrawler
Yessss. Not too over the top, still creepy af. That whole episode was so jarring once you realize the video is telling how these things how to GET IN, not how to keep intruders out. Brilliant twist. Have you seen the one called Shifting Tendons, where the guy self-quarentines and turns into that horrifying...thing. ughhhhh I love this series so much. Local 58 is good, but I think this is the absolute best analog horror out there.
Another interesting aspect of the name REGNAD, as well as being 'danger' backwards like you pointed out, it's also an anagram of 'garden', which might relate back to 24:08: 'Blood pumps through the Garden's veins'.
Amazing find! I shared a theory that the iris is the hungry eye's God? And now that we've woken them their God is coming. Like the whole "Jesus is coming" for us, they have the iris. I really like this idea!
I prefer the theory that Jack and Mary were siblings. What if when they were kids they went to Moonlight Acres and played "Feed the Woods"? Mary was taken and turned into a woodcrawler, while Jack survived. This would also go along with the story that the computer made (maybe Mary was taken near a river like the one mentioned in the story). Maybe Jack doesn't understand what happened to Mary at first, but as he gets older he realizes that unnatural things are occuring and finds out about the woodcrawlers, and dedicates himself to uncovering the truth through his footage in honor of his sister.
I like the theory that Jack and Mary are actually just a couple because it would tie in to what Wendigoon said with “Jack made all the videos” I believe Jack is just really good at making these VHS type videos and so he made a living off of it by just working for random companies, it would explain why some videos have conflicting stuff, Jack is just following orders Once Mary gets taken, he realises he has made a terrible mistake and starts making the actually factually correct videos. Trying to inform the world of these creatures in a not sorta in your nose way. And well because he went against these creatures agenda he eventually died. Honestly now that I’m thinking about it, it doesnt matter whether or not Jack and Mary are siblings or a couple for “my” theory 😅
@@yandwl4162 That's a really cool theory too - and it would make sense that Jack made all the videos, given their similar style and content. I suppose it doesn't matter much whether they're a couple or siblings, but its really fun to make theories about them anyways. Something I really love about GHE is how much material there is to think and theorize about - not just the terrifying entities, but the people behind the videos as well, and how they're affected.
But then one has to wonder why the Mary monsters voice sounded adult. I also like to think that maybe Jack was one of the camp councelers and that's how Mary got taken and he's so guilty about it that he tries to warn the world with his videos
I get scared so easily but Wendigoon's personality keeps me hooked. However when the "face peeking out from behind the doorway" image showed up I just looked away.
This is a huge mood. I love these videos despite being super on edge and close to a panic attack. Scare theater is my favorite scary stuff that makes me so paranoid.
The "Feed the woods" game reminded me of something that might actually apply to the overall narrative of the Gemini series! It might be hinting that The video series is based in "The Dark Forest" theory for Fermi's paradox. I'm sure you've covered it on your channel but for the sake of explaining the connection, it's a theory where it's posited that the reason we haven't found any life in the universe yet is because the universe is so dangerous and filled with either aggressive species or paranoia that virtually all other civilizations or forms of life do their best to hide themselves out there in the dark, because if you reveal yourself it's basically an invitation to be killed! And this all ties to the videos when the ending of feed the woods has a picture of earth that says "Found you"! Possibly implying that this iris or these creatures are here to kill us because, like the children running out in the dark and screaming, humanity unknowingly revealed ourselves in the universe to other hostile life 👍 great video!
Hey man, I don't know how much you hear this but I bet it isn't enough, but your videos are honestly amazing. Your personality is honestly perfect for the kind of content you make, your voice is easy to listen to, your humour is really nice to hear at points, and your vocabulary is really good to as you can better explain and describe things. Wendi, if I could, I'd give you a high-five and thank you for making these videos you do. Keep well, man.
I agree, he has added actual value to my life. My gf that I miss very much recently broke up with me but we managed to make it through most of the conspiracy iceberg together before it happened. Coziest time of my life ;(
In Jack’s Survival Guide, he tells people to respond to “bears,” which are an allegory for the creatures, by shouting and slowly walking away. He also tells people to go towards the lights if they can’t start their fire. I think this shows that Jack has already been turned at this point, and was deliberately giving us bad advice to make it easier for the creatures to catch us. I think Regnad is probably a similar situation, where they’ve been turned and controlled to help The Iris take over. Maybe the Fake People aren’t shapeshifters, but puppets,
Regnad is a weird name for a company. Must have some hidden meaning behind it. Well it couldn't be as simple as flipping the name around... danger. Danger computing. It isnt regnad, its danger.
The lights can’t be argued with, but the bear could be a semi allegory to him being turned. As it only shifts into a woodcrawler when the graphic of a man is off screen. So Jack could’ve thought he was encountering a bear, and gone through the normal procedures to scare it off, and then it turned him when he lost sight of it
one of my favorite things about wendigoon is his voice. his accent feels familiar due to where i grew up. it makes his videos very easy to understand and comforting, as crazy as that sounds considering the type of media he discusses. i also love how he never tries to simplify or dumb down his theories. i love how abstract some of his videos are, it feels nice and calm :)
i honestly never wouldve known he even had any particular accent if not for comments mentioning it, this is just what the default guy sounds like in the southeast lol
One thing I love about GHE is the way he presents his videos. Rather than it being a broadcast that got hijacked, it's all seen via the means of VHS, meaning that all of the creepy stuff that you see in his channel were all recorded, processed, put into, and distributed for consumers.
“I’m not gonna link it here below because that means you have to go to the original video to get it so this guy can get more traffic because, once again, he deserves it.” Wendigoon you absolute KING
I noticed that the Deep Root Disease video near the end (with the person in the chair) looks a LOT like the central nervous system. Maybe the Nerves are referred to as “roots”, and it’s not actually a plant based disease- it’s more of a neurological one. This could explain why some things in videos just don’t make sense, the people were infected and their brains are slowly turning into this infected mass
Bit late lol but I think it’s both. I think the roots corrupt most of the body by rotting it to the core, then they build it back up. Starting with the nervous system and the red roots, all the way back up a to a distorted version of skin
@@jauume coloring it red makes it more visceral, more obvious that this isn't an out-of-place textbook image but a conscious person that's been stripped of everything else
I get easily jumpscared, but not easily actually scared. To be completely honest, throughout Local 58 and the Mandela Catalogue nothing has truly given me such dread and terror than Gemini Home Entertainment. When watching it, it checked off all things that completely freaks me out, and the story itself of planets being consumed and corrupted made me feel uneasy about what was going to happen.
Cosmic horror is absolutely one of my favorite genres especially when combined with analog horror. I can withstand most jump scares but it doesn’t take much to have me paranoid for weeks, months even. Which honestly is probably why I enjoy things like the Mandela catalog, vita carnis, doesn’t really count I don’t think but monument mythos, the concept of something so big, otherworldly, or incomprehensible to the human mind is of course, scary. Now I’m to much of a wussy to watch these series but I wholeheartedly love deep dives like this. The concept of something that could basically swallow us whole at any moment is really freaky, I’m not very far into the video yet but just thought I’d share my thoughts and opinions, sorry if the writing here isn’t very good I’m only eleven and my punctuation and ability to not reiterating what I just said aren’t the best lols
@@Totallynotredtail I think the more you think about it the more hopeless this world is, as there is really no way to save it. We're being hunted by massive creatures, the tech industry is slowly being corrupted and the only one's on our side aren't able to make something that truly helps and plus their massive capitalists attempting to make a buck on people's protection. And the final piece that makes it all the more hopeless is the time period. We aren't seeing this story take place in the 2080s with space travel and science fiction aspects, this is the 80s-90s. There is no way they could even attempt to save the other planets, let alone kill the one that started everything. So there is no saving the planet at all, no good ending to be had.
The face pearing around the doorway just really terrified me for some reason, the room itself is creepy enough, and then you look closer and see it, barley there
It always fun to imagine you killing a scary thing tho like: “ho you wanna kill me, well I’ve got a shotgun here lemme prove it.” Then absolutely demolishing to creature. Or even better YOU WIT DA BOYYYYYYSSSS
Theory: the wood crawlers communicate on a personnel level through sound, and the hungry eyes communicate to the wood crawlers through an electrical signal that can be picked up by the radio. The radio emits the sound and makes wood crawlers believe 'area is secure move along.' since during the video of the computer game, the radio isn't on in the bunker and the wood crawler breaks in (at least I think it's not on?) And the wood crawlers may actually be able to speak intelligently to try and convince people to come out, hence why you shouldn't listen to the radio. Which would also explain why it says quietly get your family into the Bunker, wood crawlers may be able to discern infected from uninfected just by the sound of their voice, and so the radio would make the wood crawlers believe that the bunker is either inhabited by other wood crawlers or a hungry eye.
I agree. Whatever the Iris thing is, just based on its size alone, has incredible potential for broadcasting radio waves throughout space or simply has a massive brain with similarly massive psychic powers. Most likely it is using these abilities to manipulate and send out fake human radio programs and messages in order to cause chaos and communication breakdown in human civilization, and also to coordinate its hivemind of wood crawlers and gardeners on other planets. Some groups with humanity's best interest in mind probably realized this and that is why they suggest heading to communication towers for safety (which could be some sort of radio jammer) and also hiding in underground bunkers where signals may not permeate as well.
To me, it honestly feels like we were moving so far away from horror and pulling out its teeth, and then the internet is born and suddenly we're all telling stories around a campfire in dark forests again.
I don't fully agree, I think the real issue is that in most cases horror when it is mainstream tends to copycat. There were genuinely good horror films and stories but what we are seeing on youtube is greater novelty because theoretically everyone can produce stuff, the problem of course being that a lot of it ends up iffy (see also a lot of low effort creepypasta)
And "the sleeping ones are eaten whole" might mean that people who are asleep are easier to infest, as seen with that video of a person sleeping in their bed who are pulled off and taken.
Interestingly enough what Wendigoon refers to as “hungry eyes” are apparently called “Gardeners” by the official merch where one could buy a cute stuffed version of a Gardener. (The “Hungry Eye” is just another name for the Iris) Unfortunately it was a limited sale to my knowledge and they are no longer being sold with the cute announcement video on the Gemini home entertainment channel having been taken down.
Late af comment but yes, they were a limited time run by Makeship. According to mine, 2087 were made. Later, there'd be another collab, with The Vessel (the nervous system vein thing), with only 615 made.
Honestly big props to Wendigoon for being so down to earth even as his channel grows that he redos an entire video cause his fans said it was too quiet. He’s so charismatic and intelligent and deserves all the subs he gets
He only does videos so he can get sponsor money lmao he’s not “down to earth” he only cares about money, and money only. Not to mention the 40 ads on the vid
Beginning to wonder if Woodcrawlers, Gardeners, Nature’s Mockeries, and the like, are like The Iris’ digestive enzymes. They break down complex into the simple, until eventually they replace it, making it easier for the Iris to eat the planet.
I never actually thought of it that way, but possibly? maybe the reason why space appears black to us is that we've long since been consumed by the Iris' true form. or something, i don't know, its clearly digesting entire moons and fusing them together and shit.
It's kind of interesting that Wendigoon presumes Jack and Mary are spouses, while I assumed right away that they were siblings. I think that just says something about the listener and what relationships they find more emotionally compelling.
I think Jack and Mary are married too, because Jack changed his last name to Dean, like a wife would in a marriage. I forgot the original name Edit; his last name was 'Wylders' in "wilderness survival guide". Maybe this was created before the two got married? How would that happen?
You know.. I’ve always wanted to make an analog horror series of my own, and as an artist who likes to do art work I have like Deep thoughts about it and I think it would be good or bad. But kinda good and my analog horror series would be about a research lab with a bunch a scientists (but one who work there) is weird looking at: creatures with veins and distorted faces and can kill you in any possible way. And they need to find a way to stop it but these creatures are why smarter then them.. so I like to do things in comics but I feel like as an person who makes oc characters of his own (that’s me) I feel like I would be cool in my opinion.
@@Domart101 is there somewhere (a social media) where I can check out your art/comics? I love getting overly invested in other peoples OCs. And can I give you some feedback on what would make a story like that really compelling, at least to someone with my taste in media?
theres a lot of talk about the Iris consuming Earth, but I honestly don't think that's what's happening here. It's said that the "sleeping ones are eaten whole", and I believe that is referring specifically to planets without life on them. I think the Iris is instead using Earth as material in a strange form of reproduction or self-replication. We could assume that a vast majority of the earths insides are being turned into the gardens. If so, I theorize that when this infected interior has spread throughout the entirety of our planet, what is currently a sort of ecosystem built by the gardeners will have turned into an organism. A new iris. Earth is nothing more than an egg unwillingly growing a cosmic horror like no other. Now, I could be already disproven, I haven't checked up on Gemini since this video was made a year ago. If I am, oh well, I like it anyways. It reminds me of Wendi's theory on Local 58, of the moon being an egg to an eldritch beast.
a small thing i thought was interesting: the planet neptune was in gemini from 1889 to 1902, during the boom of video media and increased global communication. since the series is called "gemini" home entertainment, and the series has a strong connection to neptune, i have a feeling the name wasnt choosen at random
I love this kinda shit that can only really be done in this format. No book, movie, game, radio drama, whatever can convey this story the same way that a bunch of seemingly random documentaries and clips online can. I love when artists take full advantage of a medium to truly make something unique. It is a bit similar to something like Local 96, but it’s still great. Edit: I noticed far too late I made a big oppsie
@@jjcoola998 It's Local96, buddy. You see the original comment? What the FUCK is Local58? I don't know you, but I can say in 100% certainty that you're slipping.
The speaker on the tower is an electronic siren, most likely an older model made by Whelen known as the WPS-3000/WPS-4000. I used to be in the civil defense/tornado/volunteer fire siren community, and I still know way more about sirens than I probably should lol
That "tower" that looks like a speaker is a Whelen WPS-3016 outdoor warning siren. Used mainly for tornadoes, bit can be multi purpose, even using voice alerts, as it is multiple speaker horns in one unit.
I really hope that when this series is finished the creator releases all of these on an actual VHS tape or like a box set of a bunch of them or something. It might be a really niche thing but man, that would be so cool.
I propose "the goonies" as your fanbase name Edit: also huge props to you for listening to your viewers and fixing the audio. It shows you really care about your content and your fans. Love your content dude, never stop doing what you enjoy. Edit 2: I really like the video so far. Analog horror has always creeped me out, but the only really popular instance of analog horror recently has been Local58, which while scary, didn't really creep me out. However this series seems to have all sorts of media within it, including videos, stories, images, video games, documentaries and more, which serves as both a refreshing and exciting experience. The images and videos shown of the infested people especially creeped me out, as well as the entire concept of "infestation" itself. The line about burying them so they dont get back up especially gave me the heeby-jeebies.
Honestly, we really need more Analog Horror. Some of the best series I've seen (and ones that I love watching people cover) have been Analog. They're just so interesting and fun to dive into! Also, props to the man himself, Wendigoon, for doing the fix & re-upload on such a quick turn-around, things like this (and your content in general) are why you're the best, my dude :)
the worst and most nightmare-inducing part of this for me will always be the man standing in the field screaming and moving like that. i can’t explain it, it just terrifies me
"Regnad" spelled backwards is "danger" not sure if it's important. Prolly is. The "observatory" is an old-style planetarium. Basically a movie theater with a domed screen overhead seating that leans almost all the way back, like a dentist's char and a thing in the middle that can simulate the night sky accurately including real motion of planets and stars by projecting them through little lenses all over it. (a little Lovecraftial looking.. google them) Planetariums still exist, of course, but the one in the photo is from the pre-digital era.
I figured the Optica! and Regnad companies are both allied with the Iris, so their one looking similar to the word Optical and the other being an anagram of Garden are the ones that are putting out the misinformation to people and assistance to the infected.
Dude stuff normally doesn’t scare me. But I fell asleep watching this. I had such an intense nightmare I woke up to my father making sure I’m alright because I was literally screaming in my sleep. Wowza
I too fell asleep to this (playing after Mandela Catalogue analysis) and woke up after attempting to shove my coworker in a dream because she made fun of me in that female voice at the end All the rest nightmarish stuff in this inspired dream (mazes of malls with chases by something during total blackout) didn't distress me as much as almost hurting that girl
Personally, I think “the Hungry Eye” is another name for/a reference to the Iris, since it’s referred to as singular, and the use of “the” makes me think there’s only one, as opposed to the Gardeners, of which there seem to be many. Plus, an iris is a part of the eye, and its apparent habit of consuming planets would definitely classify it as “hungry”. Really love the video overall, this is just something that bothered me.
i really like content like this but i usually get to anxious watching it alone, the way you narrate so thoroughly and the enthusiasm you have for it really keeps the excitement going without being too scary! lol i really love this aesthetic and it was exciting to see another arg i've never seen before!! thank you for shining the light on small creators, i'll definitely have to go check this out for myself now :)
Does it ever confirm woodcrawlers and the hungry eye are on the same side? Because when Jack tells you how to avoid wood crawlers he says to look to the light, possibly implying the hungry eye will help you fight woodcrawlers. Plus it'd be kinda funny.
i pray that as his channel grows he continues to stay down to earth. the camera, the set up, the casual style of his videos, i don’t want it to change ever :(
It's worth noting that "harbinger" is defined as 'a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another.' That supports the idea that that company is trying to warn us of the danger coming. Also, MASSIVE props to Gemini Home Entertainment for not just the fascinating story, but the increadible graphics!! Like, I liked the stories of the mandela project and monument mythos, but the animation quality killed a lot of the coolness for me. (I actually got more scared listening to your analysis of the mandela project, than watching the original videos! The concept was terrifying in itself) But! GHE has fully fleshed out, well designed monsters that it can showcase onscreen, both as still images /and videos/. Like, the rooted 'person' in the computer chair during the last found footage video? The shadows the light from the camera was casting on the wall matched the rooted person perfectly, and even shuddered and changed angles in sync with the lightsource on the camera shaking and moving around. And the hungry eye on the ocean floor doesn't even look out of place!? And I know that the hungry eyes didn't originate on earth, but the "fake people" strike me as reminiscent of the lure an angler fish uses. Like I can just picture thick root systems crossing the floor and up inside the 'fake people,' a.k.a. meat puppets. I also noticed that in the game, the enemies all show what appears to be roots on their torso and spreading down their legs. And???? The newest videos??? THE FUCKING PLANETS????
The story says "Jack do you see me/I have become something else." This implies that it was _Mary_ who became something else. Fortunately, this doesn't seem to have impacted your analysis of the series.
It kind of did impact. The Client seems to be Mary, rather than Iris. At least they think it's their client but it's actually Mary. She most likely became a gardener. And the attacked cameraman is %99 Jack. And not all videos are done by him. Bad ones most likely done by Iris, Woodcrawlers or by the corporations themselves to serve Iris. These "fake people," most likely receive commands by watching this stuff. And honestly some of them made only to scare the audience as there is no reason why Woodcrawlers specifically target children. We know from the video game that the deal was sacrificing humans to Iris, not children. And one day they decided to sacrifice a bear to trick Iris and shit got crazy.
Also, Neptune isn't dead or eaten. I mean the video literally says Neptune is the lens. Iris using Neptune to reflect some shit to Earth, probably some sort of beam which contains Gardeners or Nature's Mockery in it. After some time Iris transforms Neptune too and doesn't need to use it as a lens because Gardeners started to transform Earth from the inside. This analysis was all over the place tbh.
Hey i really hope you continue doing this series when its "finished" im a bit too much of a scaredy cat to watch these on my own so filtering it through you makes it not just watchable for me but its very exciting to hear the different perspectives and takes on it
I'm pretty sure Nature's Mockery is more of a genus for all the unnatural creatures and plants. Woodcrawlers are probably skinwalkers, the people who have been infected with deep root disease and are fully subservient to the Iris. Also, due to my interest in biology, ecosystems, things such as, these orange roots, alien creatures living deep underground and underwater, unnatural yet conceivable things- All this just tickles me.
See I’m one of those people that love the concepts behind horror. The way people build stories and how it all connects is amazing. Yet I cannot deal with horror at all. This is why I love your channel so much. You just share these stories so brilliantly and just share the facts.
Honestly all the games terrified me, like one that freaked me out a bit was Sardines, where all the kids tumbled out limp and colorless, it made me think they were corpses now. And the arrow pointed towards earth saying it found us was terrifying, just legit chilling.
This series is next level. One of our hardest struggles with trying to conceptualize and execute cosmic horror in video format is the format itself. Cosmic horror gets the horror from what you can't imagine. What you can't see. The intentional gaps and ambiguity in this story somehow figured out how to convey the dread of the unknowable and the unimaginable to a visual medium, and that is what makes this one one to remember. This whole trend in analog horror really apes on that "loophole" and its fantastic to be able to experience it live.
I love it, especially ARGs and random internet horror videos because there's better immersion and more plausible deniability, the fact that it could be real or fake helps so much.
I'd love to see someone else talk about the series Watch with Mother. It was this horror/comedy project by some group called The Glue Society. My memories of it are incredibly vague, but it felt like I had stumbled across an irl creepypasta. It had running gags like "footage of person walking and then suddenly they're impaled by a falling object." It was weird. Don't get it confused with this old b&w kids show of the same name tho.

Yeah, cosmic horror/lovecraftian horror is great because it genuinely able to activate "flight or fight" mode in reader's mind. The fear or unknown and, which is more important, fear of incomprehensible is probably the strongest one. The hallucination noise played on the radio in storm safety is probably how the woodcrawlers communicate.
This series is so freaking weird man, your theory seems perfectly logical tho
I like the theory that Jack and Mary are actually just a couple because it would tie in to what Wendigoon said with “Jack made all the videos”
I believe Jack is just really good at making these VHS type videos and so he made a living off of it by just working for random companies, it would explain why some videos have conflicting stuff, Jack is just following orders
Once Mary gets taken, he realises he has made a terrible mistake and starts making the actually factually correct videos.

@@binair0 Though I do not fear that image, I understand your pain

Theory: the wood crawlers communicate on a personnel level through sound, and the hungry eyes communicate to the wood crawlers through an electrical signal that can be picked up by the radio. The radio emits the sound and makes wood crawlers believe 'area is secure move along.' since during the video of the computer game, the radio isn't on in the bunker and the wood crawler breaks in (at least I think it's not on?)
And the wood crawlers may actually be able to speak intelligently to try and convince people to come out, hence why you shouldn't listen to the radio.
Which would also explain why it says quietly get your family into the Bunker, wood crawlers may be able to discern infected from uninfected just by the sound of their voice, and so the radio would make the wood crawlers believe that the bunker is either inhabited by other wood crawlers or a hungry eye.
just an afterthought I had: The strange aluminum dome may act as a catalyst for the signal as well
Some groups with humanity's best interest in mind probably realized this and that is why they suggest heading to communication towers for safety (which could be some sort of radio jammer) and also hiding in underground bunkers where signals may not permeate as well.

anyone else reminded of “parasyte” by this series’ monsters (e.g., gotou)?
"the jaw unhinges" which might also reference to the wood walker flexing its jaw strangely in the first video.
And "the sleeping ones are eaten whole" might mean that people who are asleep are easier to infest, as seen with that video of a person sleeping in their bed who are pulled off and taken.
@@Knowduso Holy crap, there's a new video that shows an entity with Deeproot disease standing over a sleeping person.

Probably trying to eliminate humanity bc we could nuke the thing before it tried to eat the planet
Gardeners are transforming Earth from the inside so yeah, probably.
It's kind of interesting that Wendigoon presumes Jack and Mary are spouses, while I assumed right away that they were siblings. I think that just says something about the listener and what relationships they find more emotionally compelling.
Well yeah, Jack's obviously married to Diane.
I think Jack and Mary are married too, because Jack changed his last name to Dean, like a wife would in a marriage. I forgot the original name
Edit; his last name was 'Wylders' in "wilderness survival guide". Maybe this was created before the two got married? How would that happen?
Actually “wylder” was in quotation marks between his first and last name, implying that it’s a nickname, rather than a surname.
It reminds me of Wendi's theory on Local 58, of the moon being an egg to an eldritch beast.
i wish i could reblog
a small thing i thought was interesting: the planet neptune was in gemini from 1889 to 1902, during the boom of video media and increased global communication. since the series is called "gemini" home entertainment, and the series has a strong connection to neptune, i have a feeling the name wasnt choosen at random
Genuinely curious, what does it mean when you say that Gemini Home Entertainment has a strong connection to Neptune?
@@burgerburger1315 go to about the 11:30 mark in this video
Video media didn't really have its technology boom until at least around 1980ish if I had to guess.

34:54 that eye movement is so subtle, yet so terrifying.
(a little Lovecraftial looking.. google them)
Planetariums still exist, of course, but the one in the photo is from the pre-digital era.
I think the regnad bit was a nudge at the fact that the AI is trying to warn us of a grave danger
I want to add that in the solar system video it shows jupiter and says the red spot is not an eye but an open wound
I figured the Optica! and Regnad companies are both allied with the Iris, so their one looking similar to the word Optical and the other being an anagram of Garden are the ones that are putting out the misinformation to people and assistance to the infected.

So, I thought that the Hungry Eye and the Iris were the same thing, since yknow, the iris is part of the eye.

The concept was terrifying in itself)
But!
Hey i really hope you continue doing this series when its "finished"
im a bit too much of a scaredy cat to watch these on my own so filtering it through you makes it not just watchable for me but its very exciting to hear the different perspectives and takes on it
Lmao Me too I think I can only watch the new episodes of this if wendigoon is there on video metaphorically holding my hand
I'm pretty sure Nature's Mockery is more of a genus for all the unnatural creatures and plants. Woodcrawlers are probably skinwalkers, the people who have been infected with deep root disease and are fully subservient to the Iris.
Also, due to my interest in biology, ecosystems, things such as, these orange roots, alien creatures living deep underground and underwater, unnatural yet conceivable things- All this just tickles me.
i think thats why i love this series too, its all realistic enough to think about, and just unreal enough to peak my interest
For the record, that speaker at 7:50 is a civil defense/tornado siren- fitting with the whole storm safety theme
I love horror that gives that eerie, uneasy feeling over gore. That's what I love about channels like Gemini Home Entertainment.
"your tears are filled with salt"

The statement implies that whatever your hiding from is attracted to salt
Which makes sense, although idk how it’s smell it
