I built my own portable band sawmill in my dad's shop when I was 21 years old. I made it big. Tracks were 48 inches wide and 31 inch diameter bandwheels. I remember that 1 giant log i sawed. It was 10 feet long and all of 48 inches in diameter. We had to trim the sides of the log so that the mill could pass over it. It yielded some over 700 board feet of lumber.
Good on Brittany for doing such amazing work with both running the mill and grabbing the slabs and production boards. You're a lucky man!! As for the garden, that gives me the chillies, since I had to till my mom's garden for years when I was growing up....I'll try to adjust!!!
There's a lot to be said for a hard day's work, and doing it your own way. Very satisfying. Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with a bunch of strangers. I enjoy watching you toil away, wishing I could do the same. Enjoy your youth, your health and success while you can. If you were rich, you'd never be happy. Thanks again. ❤
My grandparents would get us up at daylight to pick vegetables in our garden. They would stop when the dew dried up and then we would prepare them for canning the rest of the day. It was hard work but definitely tasted good. Have fun and stay safe!
Tyler, I was wondering if you can briefly describe the difference between Kiln Dried vs natural drying. You can also talk about rough sawn stuff. Thanks.
Borax, which is sold as a laundry and cleaning product in many grocery stores, can help lend a hand in the yard as an herbicide. Add 10 ounces of powdered borax to 2.5 gallons of water, mix thoroughly, and use a sprayer to coat the leaves of unwanted weeds in your yard. Be careful though, it will also get rid of grass and other plants.
You can burn the field. That’s what the did in the old days. I’ve done it. When the season was over and it become a bit grown up I tilled on the outside diameter of my garden for safety and spray a bit of diesel on it with a tobacco sprayer and burn it. Thanks for your content. Love watching y’all.

i would find another use for it not kill it off. Ragweed can help remove lead from contaminated soil and trace nutrients in topsoil. Native Americans used the stems to make rope and thread, and the seeds were an important food source during the winter months because they are high in protein and fat. Ragweed is also eaten by many animals, including cows, sheep, horses, white-tailed deer, and more than four dozen species of birds.
Spray it in the corn area with a broad leaf herbicide But stay away from your tomatoes for sure Best to plant corn on the other side of the farm from the veg so you can spray it makes life easier
We have it here in Ireland its a nightmare we sow sugar beet and fodder beet and the ragweed gets everywhere it does more damage to the harvester plus it a nightmare in cereal crops i use to pull the weeds in the beetfields when i was younger use to get 20 pounds a drill weeding the drills

@@wallacefarmandsawmill That’s what I wanted to hear. I am going from a Stihl 661 and 36 inch bar in an Alaskan mill to an LT40 Wide. It’s a huge price tag, for me anyway, but it’s on order and I’m excited.
We wait until nearly all the green is gone before we fry them. Cut them a little more then a 1/4 in coat them in seasoned cornmeal and fry in butter at medium heat. If you do eggplant and yellow squash at the same time you will ha e a feast
Why it matters: Poison hemlock is one of the deadliest plants in North America but can look and smell like a carrot. So you should probably know how to spot it so you (or your dog) don't eat it. This popped up on my feed today after watching . UA-cam😮
Commercial farmers use weed-specific chemicals that attack a specific family of weeds and leave their crops alone. Check your local agriculture rep for specific info on what to use.

Hi you have any pics of the mill? In process of starting one.
This is in my opinion the best sawmill channel! I just love how they mix and match milling, farming and fishing! Awesome!
Thanks so much for watching!
Dear Keith. They are not the best sawmill channel on the Internet, but they are in the top. That is my opinion.
You two are a working m,achine! Nice to see a young couple working toward their dream.
.
That's one tough Lady you have there! Better keep her around!

Keep on making sawdust
Love watching you two

I know you can't but I wouldn't mind seeing a video every day from you 2.
They would make more money that way. However editing them posting is time consuming
You two make a good hard working team.good job.
Great video and good job. The garden is looking great. Take care and have a blessed and safe weekend
Thanks, you too!

That’s really great that you have trained up your pretty little wife to operate the band saw ? Congratulations to you both !
Отличный огород! Отличные доски! Хорошая работа! Классное получилось видео! Мне понравилось! Круто Круто!!!👍❤️
The best solution is to pull it before it goes to seed.. no seed, no more plants..
The garden is looking great 😊 Good sawing 👍
Thanks for everything love the smell fresh cut timber thanks so much

Your garden really looks good
Thanks!
Good job on not using chemicals . There may be something you can plant to help with the rag weed .
Thanks!
Thank you!
Ragweed eradication, pull 'em out a section at a time, pile in a compost pile, and don't let them go to seed.
Really nice production from your Garden!!

Fine Garden! Lots Of Maters
Makin' lumber's almost as fun as Makin' Bacon!
Great garden 👍🇨🇦
Next year grow your cukes on a fence. You get no white spots from laying on ground, plus easier to pick.
i would find another use for it not kill it off.

A+ guys!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
That's a good woman you have there who will help you with the work.
Florida
use a flame torch to kill the weeds in your garden, buy at TSC store ,cheap and easy.
Never heard Of that method
What about a custom long narrow conveyor for sawdust to pile it outside building.
Spray it in the corn area with a broad leaf herbicide
But stay away from your tomatoes for sure
Best to plant corn on the other side of the farm from the veg so you can spray it makes life easier
What makes the boards wavy when they are sawed had some sawed and they are ruined it was a red oak
looks like your wife is doing the hard work.
Your garden looks great, the question I have is in your area do you have to be really on the look out for venomous snakes
Love the videos. Why do you unload the logs so far from your saw? What was the fire in the background?
I’m sure you’ve covered it before, but, what are the dimensions of your saw shed?
52 2x6s

How do you keep the pine sap off your blades.? I have to swap to diesel drip when I’m cutting pine unless the log has been cut for a while.
Run more water. Diesel isn’t needed. I have sawed several million bf.
hey great garden super video..... one question what year did you guy's get out of school????? zeke

How do you like your LT 40? Do you feel it was worth the cost to upgrade from your LT 15?
1,000,000% worth it. It is a complete different animal.

What did you do with the other sawmill
Sold the old band sawmills we have had in the past. Still have our Circle Sawmill!
Have you ever fried green tomatoes? Quite good.
Yes! Agreed!

156 boards
Deer ate the tops of my tomato plants
Spray with vinegar.
You obviously are growing more food than you can eat. Do you sell the rest?
If we have excess, yes!
Weebles wobble!
Pull the weeds
2,4-D will kill it and it will not hurt the corn

Now you are going to have to change the name of the channel to the weebles!
Tyler: why would a log have the pith so far off center? I thought that trees grew from the center outward?
Stress on one side of the tree will cause it.
Agree!

Does any one know what there PO box is?
Try vinegar spray
What’s going on with bus.
Why when cutting the logs do you keep turning them? Couldn’t you just keep cutting the way it is?

Please stop with the click bait! I'm to old for that crap!
What’s click bait about this video? Do explain?
I don't understand the click bait comment. The vid was 100% what the title said.
Exactly and everything in the thumbnail is in the video. So it’s not click bait /shrug
You said legs!
