My late son introduced me to this song and I considered it his and my song.
This is one of those songs that you seem to already know, even though you are hearing it for the first time. As if it’s from a dream, or a past life. Bravo, guys.

Several years ago I spent the night at my grandparent's house and was messing with an old radio. This song played after a minute and my Grandma asked me about the song. I don't fully remember what she asked, but I remember her liking it.
That seems like a silly, unimportant memory, but whenever I hear this song I'm always reminded of it. I don't even think she listened to the full song or even said more than "I like it." But her passion for music and life just seems to reverberate back into my mind every single time I hear this.

That was beautiful brother, I took care of my grandma for 8 months before she passed away 2 days before Christmas, miss her everyday.. I remember watching tv with her and drinking baileys and laughing, the small things really are the ones you remember.. cheers from Idaho sorry for your loss

I've had dreams too. A beach. A spit of white sand. A nude woman sunbathing. As a helicopter flies over she rolls of the sandy outcrop into the aquamarine colored waters, and she becomes a seal.

The way the bass guitar is mixed in this song ties everything together, and it provides an unbroken thread. But, it also leaves plenty of space for the lead vocal and the story the vocalist tells. The result is amazing. Not many bands achieve this kind of balance.

I totally agree, you put it into words very well. Kings of Leon does this very well, too. I wish more bands utilized the bass fully like that.

They're an incredible and underrated band!
Just saw these guys two nights ago for the first time. Far exceeded my already high expectations. Great show. Horns are a dying art in today's music, and they're doing their part to keep it going. Awesome job by a great band.
Hell, music is a dying art. These guys make whip me to a different time and place and I'm young and the music is good. I'm gutted that I just recently found them.
Matt Scheer I don't disagree about the horns as I wish it was more mainstream today like it was in the 70s with bands like Chicago, but there are tons of funk and jazz bands out there today that keep it alive

I first heard this in 2017. Around that time, my dad passed away and every time I heard this song, I resonated so much to it! Recently survived separated domestic violence cases and started listening to this song again.
I turn to it as a environmental scientist. And I cry. Because I can't leave it out to dry out, but do hope you can.
As someone who is currently coping with complex ptsd and coming to terms with it; this song could not better define what I'm going through. There is such a spiritual relief you feel when you find a song that can define that for you.

I don’t know why but this song gets to me. At the end where he says “ you worry me” I can feel that he’s speaking to someone directly.

The last few years have made that line all the more poignant. Civil unrest, police brutality, pandemic...I definitely lay awake at night terrified of the future we are leaving our children.
I've never heard this song during the day, the evening or at night. It only comes on the between 3-4am where I live. Very unusual feelings come from this song.

All their songs make you feel like they understand life’s ups and downs and that you’re not alone, there’s still good things and it’ll be okay :)

In my family, it's managed to span several generations of now fans, from my 80 year old dad and boyfriends 83 year old dad, who discovered your music by the way, to me, I'm 46. My oldest niece is 15 and said, she "gets it," and that says something to me. Thanks for the music bridge. We'll keep listening!

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I'm going on 40 and I've heard a lot, more than I care to admit, of music. There's not a day that can go by that I can hear this song and not have some form of emotional experience.
I was working at a dive bar years ago and a cover band of young 20 something year olds, were playing this and I loved it. I actually thought it was an original song at first but searched for it for months based off the little bit of lyrics I remembered, and now this is one of my favourite songs ❤️❤️

Just got this album and man o man am I stoked. I love all Nathaniels music. He and the boys are for sure headed to the HOF one day.

This is the first song I wanted to tackle with my vocal coach. I did my best to do Nathaniel justice because he and I have very similar vocal ranges! I'm excited about performing it soon. I'm pretty unassuming at times and I can't wait to make people's jaws drop. I have to say he's one of my favorite modern singers and everything he does is just top notch gold.
