So So sorry for your loss. losing someone is so hard and to live with it even more difficult. I lost my daughter when she was 13 at the end of 2016 and when I started playing this song she loved it so much. makes me cry listening to this song.
I’m almost 53and my youngest son played this on his phone and I have to say it amazing….I won’t lie admitting I get slightly emotional when the first bars and words are played/sung…I love it… very uplifting, makes me smile when the days are not too great, and we all need these now and then.
My dad passed away yesterday out of nowhere. The last time we were together this was playing. He looked at me as he was leaving and said "I love that song"....... this song will be yours for as long as I'm on earth. Then upon my day of judgment we'll sing this song together on the other side of the river!🤟🏻
In 2015 I couldn't stand up to my depression anymore. I attempted to take my life by parking my truck in the garage and letting it run. My best friend felt something was off with me at work that day, I hadn't told a soul I was even considering it. He came by to check on me, found me passed out and rushed me to the hospital. As I recovered I took a few weeks off work and was so scared to go back to work as everyone had heard what happened. I'll never forget a good female friend of mine that lived in Manchester England called me that morning and really encouraged me then as we got off the phone I had my satellite radio on just in time to hear them announce this new song by this young band called hound mouth. The opening licks of the guitar hooked me and instantly this joy and happiness illuminated out of me and I knew everything was gonna be ok. It's been my all time favorite song ever since. After that I met a woman who would become my fiance and a few months before our wedding she walked out for another man, it crushed me. We used to love watching this is us together and I remember the 1st episode I watched without her was so painful but I kept watching. It wsd the episode of tobies Batchelor party which even made things worse but lo and behold right sat the end of the episode while they were in vegas what song came on???? Yep! Sedona I literally started laughing cause I knew there were no odds right after my fiance left me while watching our show I hear this song! This song literally saved my life

It’s been 5 years, and almost 6 now, since this song came out. I’ll never forget being 15, my dad still driving me to school every morning, and always being so happy when this song would come on. Always channel 36 on SiriusXM, Alt Nation.. because he knew it was my favorite station and only put it on when I was in the car.. we would sing it together and smile and laugh because it was just such a feel-good song in such a hard point in life.. memories to last forever.

It really does capture that feeling perfectly. Its 4am here and I can't sleep and for some reason I felt the need to bring this song up and take a good few listens. Why I dont really know. I actually first heard this song about 3 years ago or more right after a direct and very close family member of mine passed that very night. Was my first day of vacation from work coincidentally. I had a trip planned but I didn't quite feel up to it anymore. Everything was being taken care of by other family members so they told me to just go and get my mind off it until the services were ready. I ended up spending the week driving with no particular place in mind for a week. Just traveling the back areas of new York state, delware, and PA. Juat farms and trees and little diners. This song came on once on the radio but it really juat stuck with me for some reason and I ended up listening to it at least once a day for the entire trip. It just...helped? It feels very bittersweet to me. This song ually kind of helped me through it all that. Anyway rant over, good song!

This song is a coastal sunset drive. It's the essence of a spirit continually moving with forward momentum in hope! It's 50's and Surf rock with a dose of Johnny Cash country, a dash of early punk that harken back to the days when we pogo and slammed danced in smokey, perfectly gritty venues, in the most carefree and invincible ways, as we watched the bands we paid a dollar to see, play with their heart and souls in the same way we danced. ♥️
I'm going to Sedona for the first time ever tomorrow, and not going to lie, a lot of it is due to how much I love this song. I may play this the entire time.
This song is making me feel joy amid this corona virus insanity. 3 am and just what my doctor ordered. It sounds fricking aweome in headphones. Time to dance at home.
The song is about how Sedona Arizona came very close to being a "new" Hollywood for the making of westerns in the early days of film. It's an homage to Sedona, AZ which used to be the center of the entertainment world, before Hollywood, CA became big. Sedona was named for Sedona Arabelle, the wife of a prominent Arizonian businessman(?) Nevertheless, the song is really about the rise and fall of Sedona, AZ.
This gorgeous song...is very special to our little family. Us in the uk here, on the east coast. My twin sister passed away 3 yrs ago, she loved this song so much, as do we all. Love u, darling debs...miss u , ...a most excellent band...carry on the great tunes..😊
At first, this song is so chill. I could fall asleep to the first two verses. And then; "*HEY THERE SEDONA LET ME CUT YOU A DEAL I'M A LITTLE HUNGOVER AND I MAY HAVE TO STEAL YOUR SOUL*"
I was in NM with my dad and a friend, and we couldn’t find a place to eat after hours on the road and nothing but night and desert, but we eventually found this little shack in the middle of nowhere that served food. When we walked into the courtyard, it was beautiful and alive. Music, people dancing and singing, and it was to this song. One of my best memories.
This song was on the radio during the period my mother passed away. Anytime I hear this song my thoughts are for her. The chick in the video looks very similar to my mother and the lead singer kind of reminds me of my uncle who passed away in 97. I miss you Lynne Marie Dobbins.
Hard to tell if they were in Sedona, AZ. We are moving there because we love it so much. The "little Hollywood" makes me think so, because they made some Westerns there in the 50's. Love the song.
My daughter played this song on the radio in the car and I am glad. It reminds me of the feeling of having a relaxing summer evening sitting around the campfire at the lake or campground with some good friends just occasional chatting and enjoying nature.
Lyrics: The red sandstone, it fell Right smack on top of Sedona Arabella When John Ford said wont you hop on in To the stage coach baby gonna take you for a spin, oh oh Hey little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink A Saturday night kinda pink The blacklist and its hosts Came down so swift and it drove 'em to the coast We're goin California but we're all out of work I guess that's better than a grave and a hearse Hey little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink A Saturday night kinda pink The devil's in a rush And his duct tape makes you hush Hey there Sedona let me cut you a deal I'm a little hung over and I may have to steal your soul, oh oh Hey little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink, so bright and pink A Saturday night kinda pink
The vocal harmonies in the chorus are layered to perfection. I love the counter-melody part that kinda drives those really nice-sounding chords (like the 6th chord on the word ‘neon’). Beautiful blending and roomy reverb. Mimics such a vintage style of music, you guys nailed it! Edit: Not to mention how sing-along-ish it is. It’s a catchy song that I could see families or friends singing at parties.
I stumbled upon this song. It reminded me a moving to Southern California in the 1980's. My husband was a struggling musician. We were the age of these young folks! Good job I like it,
Im 55 and I think this is one of the best song/videos ever !!! saw them at a Lola after show at Double Door (Chicago) and they were great but if I had my way , Katie would be still be and always be with these boys ...
I’m in Sedona right now for the first time ever on a family vacation. As we first drove into the red rock city along the highway my daughter Sophia said “can we play the Sedona song?” I had never heard of it before until she put it on and played it through the car. We’ve been listening to it all week now in Sedona. The music video looks like Palm Springs. It would be cool to see the music video filmed a second time in the red rocks of Sedona. It’s beautiful out here. We are headed home to San Diego tomorrow.
I’ve grew up here In Sedona, I so badly want them to refilm this video here at this old bed and breakfast from the 1950s. Where John Wayne stayed, even Elvis while they were filming. It a beautiful property.... They have so many little historically accurate Easter eggs about Sedona’s history in this song. ❤
My uncle who is in the military played this song for me the last time I got to see him and my cousins. In 4 days he is being deployed to Japan for two years and I won’t be able to see him. Every time I play this song it reminds me of him and I love it.
Everytime i get sad, i come back and listen to this. This songs gives me some sorf of relief, peace feeling. Idk i cant explain it. I just know i love this song!🖤
Hey Little Hollywood You're gone but you're not forgot You got the cash but your credit's no good You flipped the script and you shot the plot And I remember, I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink SO BRIGHT & PINK A Saturday night kind of pink
Looks like it was filmed in between palm springs and morongo casino off the I-10. I sure miss so cal, the desert, and that kick ass buffet at morongo casino.
@@larebear1902 I myself now live on the east coast off of the i-90. Definitely improved my life but I sure hack miss SoCal. It's nice to know there is still people listening to Sedona by houndmouth. If only the cover bands would play this song.
Heard this song on a chill channel one day, I was in the other room of my house, I stopped what I was doing and came out and stood in front of the TV playing it and just smiled. This is one of those songs that just has everything. Music is magic.
In 1938 John Ford came to film Stagecoach in Sedona because of the red sandstone that became very prevalent in his early westerns, after that many films were filmed in Sedona, hence the name "little Hollywood", Operation Mockingbird took place in the early 50's, long after Stagecoach was filmed and as far as Paperclip goes, that did happen. All,of this is confirmed by research.
Edward Brewster welcome back cointelpro....do you understand the lyrics of this song? Do you think the purpose of this song is to inform a fan base about the history of Sedona, AZ? Welcome to using up and coming filmmakers and musicians to carry out "intelligence" operations.
+Edward Brewster So who is the Arabella who lost "credit" when she "flipped the script"? This appears to refer to a specific event, someone involved in movie production who angered Ford by passing on a script.
I want to be as happy as these guys and gal are in this video. Hell this song makes me happy. I can't help but smile when I hear it especially when I watch this video.
I was 27 when this song came out. I'm now 34. Yep, it's been 7 years and still one of my fav songs. I need to visit Sedona and play this once I am there. it'd be epic

I used to work a very stressful and life consuming job. This song would play on their playlist and for 4 mins and 23 secs everyday I'd forget about the stress, the achy feet, and long ass hours. Best part of my day.
@@ChumGluzler I mean in the nicest way possible I'm not a mean person but I think we should keep our opinions to ourselves you have yours and I have mine
I had the exact same feeling when I first heard this song !!! It played randomly after my indie playlist and I thought it was some old timey song maybe early 80s. Felt like I had an obscure memory of having heard this .. Saved and listened to it a few times and it grew on me. I ended up googling the band and I was shook. I feel like some sounds just have a way with your mind and heart and arouse certain feelings and emotions of nostalgia and nonchalance.
Ever so often, a timeless song stamps the timeline and lives forever. I would dare say, people, long from now, will play this song and reminisce and wonder why the music of their generation can't he as good as this song. I would put this song up there with all the best classic rock songs. This is timeless and love the depth, layers and little details of the song that resonate from the intrumentals to the vocals, lyrics and back around again. I can listen to this song and discover something new everytime. One of my all-time favorites, now.
at 2:48 someone appears to start singing harmony early then stops. A good example of an 'accident' that doesn't need to be fixed and is potentially beneficial to the final result.
I remember when UA-cam recommended this music video to me in 2015. I was on a programming course and since then, I started listening to it over and over again.
My sister passed away a few months ago and I get emotional as heck when I hear this now. We used to visit Sedona once a year in honor of our mother who we had to put down 5 years ago (two for one special since we had to put down the dog too). Anyway, this song would be on repeat while we drove up from Phoenix. I think of them now whenever I hear it; especially sis, she LOVED this band. We saw them at a small venue before they were too big. I was pooping when they played this song so I missed it and when they had a break between sets my sister asked the drummer if they could play it again. They didn't. But they mentioned that during the show; gave a shout out to "the guy who was in the bathroom and his hot sister". Great guys👍, beautiful music. Not enough true musicians like this nowadays. I'm 64 and remember when bands used to really rock. Non of this fru fru Nelly Nelly rap junk. These folks play instruments. Who's listening in 2022??? Not first, but hey, it's it's comment!

@@tealruby1 Terrific! I'm so glad to hear that it's still in your song rotation even after all this time! Personally for me, I never actually stick with music and I seem to have a new favorite song every new one or two weeks! I really do need to connect more with the music in order to have a long term relationship with it! Hope your having a great day!
I’m about to drive down to Sedona for the first time. Hyping myself up with this song ❤️
I live in AZ as well and I am in awe every single time I visit

I can't stop listening to this song!
Welcome to the party
Right there with ya
I like the song but i dont get the lyrics
It's an homage to Sedona, AZ which used to be the center of the entertainment world, before Hollywood, CA became big. Sedona was named for Sedona Arabelle, the wife of a prominent Arizonian businessman(?) Nevertheless, the song is really about the rise and fall of Sedona, AZ.
... "Hey, Little Hollywood" that's what they called Sedona, AZ
This gorgeous song...is very special to our little family. Us in the uk here, on the east coast. My twin sister passed away 3 yrs ago, she loved this song so much, as do we all. Love u, darling debs...miss u , ...a most excellent band...carry on the great tunes..😊
This song helps me cope with my severe panic attacks, I plop in my headphones n drown out the world.thank you
At first, this song is so chill. I could fall asleep to the first two verses. And then; "*HEY THERE SEDONA LET ME CUT YOU A DEAL I'M A LITTLE HUNGOVER AND I MAY HAVE TO STEAL YOUR SOUL*"
That's when they show off their 'rock' skills.. not bad eh?!
This duct tape makes you hushhh!!!
Hi there Cipher.

OMG Sedona I watch ur vids I luv them!!!!! I’m a huge fan!!
Awww girl your lucky
I was in NM with my dad and a friend, and we couldn’t find a place to eat after hours on the road and nothing but night and desert, but we eventually found this little shack in the middle of nowhere that served food. When we walked into the courtyard, it was beautiful and alive. Music, people dancing and singing, and it was to this song. One of my best memories.
Heard this on 96.5 the Buzz in KC MO!
Me too! :)

This song is too underrated
Who is underrating it?
+Young Dylan Radio..
better than being overrated, imo
Not as much underrated as unknown
LOL almost 10 million plays and under-rated! Amazing!
This song was on the radio during the period my mother passed away. Anytime I hear this song my thoughts are for her. The chick in the video looks very similar to my mother and the lead singer kind of reminds me of my uncle who passed away in 97. I miss you Lynne Marie Dobbins.
I grew up in Sedona from 7 years old and up... This is an amazing song ❤ Sedona is all Red Sandstone and the evenings and mornings are all pink!
the girls voice mixed with the guys during the chorus makes the song
That's what I was thinking
+a gonz I think it's that plus the recording technique that gives the background vocals a haunting 50s era sound.
+mevmevmev totally agree
+a gonz It kinda has a Mamas and the Papas kind of feel. At least that was my first thought when I heard this.
+a gonz Love the guitar tones as well
Discovered this song when I moved to Boulder Colorado for school in 2017. This song always brings me back to that time.
Hard to tell if they were in Sedona, AZ. We are moving there because we love it so much. The "little Hollywood" makes me think so, because they made some Westerns there in the 50's. Love the song.
I stumbled onto this tune & this band totally by chance. I immediately fell in love with this tune.
My daughter played this song on the radio in the car and I am glad. It reminds me of the feeling of having a relaxing summer evening sitting around the campfire at the lake or campground with some good friends just occasional chatting and enjoying nature.
Lyrics:
The red sandstone, it fell
Right smack on top of Sedona Arabella
When John Ford said wont you hop on in
To the stage coach baby gonna take you for a spin, oh oh
Hey little Hollywood
You're gone but you're not forgot
You got the cash but your credit's no good
You flipped the script and you shot the plot
And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink
A Saturday night kinda pink
The blacklist and its hosts
Came down so swift and it drove 'em to the coast
We're goin California but we're all out of work
I guess that's better than a grave and a hearse
Hey little Hollywood
You're gone but you're not forgot
You got the cash but your credit's no good
You flipped the script and you shot the plot
And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink
A Saturday night kinda pink
The devil's in a rush
And his duct tape makes you hush
Hey there Sedona let me cut you a deal
I'm a little hung over and I may have to steal your soul, oh oh
Hey little Hollywood
You're gone but you're not forgot
You got the cash but your credit's no good
You flipped the script and you shot the plot
And I remember I remember when your neon used to burn so bright and pink, so bright and pink
A Saturday night kinda pink
Great
Thank you, George.
Thank you
You the real mvp
🙏
É agora que os comentários começam a encher de brasileiro
The vocal harmonies in the chorus are layered to perfection. I love the counter-melody part that kinda drives those really nice-sounding chords (like the 6th chord on the word ‘neon’). Beautiful blending and roomy reverb. Mimics such a vintage style of music, you guys nailed it!
Edit: Not to mention how sing-along-ish it is. It’s a catchy song that I could see families or friends singing at parties.
I stumbled upon this song. It reminded me a moving to Southern California in the 1980's. My husband was a struggling musician. We were the age of these young folks! Good job I like it,
My little sister made me listen to this song a couple of years ago and I always come back to listen to it.
Just went to Sedona this year. What a place to be! Intense energy there!
Can you name some of the coolest places you went to?

One of the first "Indie" hits I ever turned onto. I saw Houndmouth in Birmingham in 2014 in a small venue. Awesome concert.
Did he die
❤🙏🏼❤
Everytime i get sad, i come back and listen to this. This songs gives me some sorf of relief, peace feeling. Idk i cant explain it. I just know i love this song!🖤

@@larebear1902 I myself now live on the east coast off of the i-90. Definitely improved my life but I sure hack miss SoCal. It's nice to know there is still people listening to Sedona by houndmouth. If only the cover bands would play this song.
This is one of the most addicting songs ever
this song means so much to be especially considering I've visited Sedona recently and it's on of the prettiest places I've ever been
Was just there this weekend. Lovely
+Scott Semans The city of Sedona AZ is named after a woman called "Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly"
Cool , answered my question before I asked. Thanks so much.
How come they didn't call it...Schnebly?
Gavin valeu pela recomendação, a música é boa de ouvir e tbm pra aprender :P

Still a great song. 8 years later.
Just sent a friend to Sedona. He was going to AZ for health reasons and never heard of it.
This is the very first time I’ve even heard of this group, if it all feels that good I’m sold.
I want to be as happy as these guys and gal are in this video. Hell this song makes me happy. I can't help but smile when I hear it especially when I watch this video.
The Gal Katie Toupin sadly left the band in the beginning of April :(

I used to work a very stressful and life consuming job. This song would play on their playlist and for 4 mins and 23 secs everyday I'd forget about the stress, the achy feet, and long ass hours. Best part of my day.

I'm mind blown to find out that this song came out in 2015. I thought it was an older song, and that I'd been hearing it around all my life.
Jessica Marlowe alternate universe😂
I had the exact same feeling when I first heard this song !!! It played randomly after my indie playlist and I thought it was some old timey song maybe early 80s. Felt like I had an obscure memory of having heard this .. Saved and listened to it a few times and it grew on me. I ended up googling the band and I was shook. I feel like some sounds just have a way with your mind and heart and arouse certain feelings and emotions of nostalgia and nonchalance.
This song has a chill, nostalgic, cool feeling to it. It's timeless and just calms my soul in a happy way. Happy chill vibes.
leaving this comment here so that every time someone likes it, i can come and listen to this beautiful song again
Ahem! Time to play it again good buddy.

Gonna see them in a small Ca town hall in a week.

Did you forget?
It's crazy to think that this song came out more than a year ago, and I only heard it two months ago. Shame, really.
Gabriel Falkner I'm hearing it first time today
Better late than never #firsttimelistner
Ever so often, a timeless song stamps the timeline and lives forever. I would dare say, people, long from now, will play this song and reminisce and wonder why the music of their generation can't he as good as this song. I would put this song up there with all the best classic rock songs. This is timeless and love the depth, layers and little details of the song that resonate from the intrumentals to the vocals, lyrics and back around again. I can listen to this song and discover something new everytime. One of my all-time favorites, now.
This is still one of my favorite songs to this day❤
at 2:48 someone appears to start singing harmony early then stops. A good example of an 'accident' that doesn't need to be fixed and is potentially beneficial to the final result.
That part always gets me, amazing.
My little sister passed away too. Her name was Holly and I used to call her Hollywood. She spent six weeks in Sedona trying to rid herself of the cancer. This is MY theme song forever. xox
Found this song in the during my awakening.... Brings back memories, ahead if it's time ...
As I was , what's ahead us dreadful.. God bless you reading this
