Fashion Place mall has been remodeled many times through the years. It has been here longer than I have been alive. They build new extensions to it, new buildings/stores. I live off of 5900 S walking distance from my home to the mall and same south as the school that Carol DaRonch was taken. I follow Carol and she is a very lucky, smart strong girl/women to live and tell her story today. But there are a few girls that was murdered here by Ted when he lived here. He also lived in other places in the valley and not just the apartment you showed in your video.
so scary what Carol went through, I think back when I was 18 or 19 would I have fallen for his ruse? probably, as he was very slick. Carol was very brave. I enjoyed the video, thank you
Yeah, what incredible courage she had! He's always been the boogie man to me, since I was a kid. Living down here in Florida when he took little Kimberly Leach from her school grounds, always scared me to think that as kids, we could have been kidnapped from anywhere.
@@rickysithappenedhere When I was 6 years old I was walking home & a man approached me in a green truck, he acted very friendly & offered me a ride home & money if I got in his truck, I said no & started running, he kept following alongside me & up ahead behind some bushes was another man waiting, the man in the green truck yelled at him “she doesn’t want to”, I was so scared I ran as fast as I could till they just gave up…imagine what would have happened to me? Anyway when I got home I didn’t tell anyone right away I don’t know why. I finally told my older sister & she was so angry she sent my brothers to try to look for them but they were gone. This happened in the town I was born in Sonora, Mexico. There’s perverts everywhere.
Yes, we were taught not to talk to strangers in general but were much more trusting back then. If someone said he was a police officer and someone was trying to break into our car, we probably would have followed him out of concern, especially since Ted Bundy was known to be such a charmer. He did not come across as a monster but as a believable and trustable person. He's one of the reasons we became less trusting and more cautious.

I wouldn't have even walked out with him in the mall
I wonder if back in the early 70's, people were just more trusting and not taught the horrors of "Stranger danger"?

Great video Rick I've always been amazed with this bundy story. I'm glad Carol is safe he got his in the end piece of shit he was.
Yeah, what a crazy series of events. What a brave and courageous 18 year old, Carol was.
