LMAO your comment aged horribly. Toyota is already replacing transmissions on Tacomas. Colorados 2.7L and 8 speed are proven powertrain options in the Silverado for years now...
I was going to get the new tacoma but after seeing their new insane pricing I changed my mind. I know someone who bought the new tundra with a 700+ payment and after 5 months he has major regrets saying the newness wore off but the payments are still the same. I think a lot of people are like this, buy it cause its cool at that time but then soon gets tired of crazy long high payments.

If you have a neverending thirst for the latest and greatest, you better find a job that can keep up with your expectations.
I still look forward, every day to getting behind the wheel of my 2023 Canyon It is the best truck I have ever financed, and NOT buying into the notion that it had to be loaded with every option that exists, I went with a 2wd and enough options to meet my demands and still walk out the dealers show room with an affordable purchase at just under 42k out the door.I took delivery in March and I still hand wash the black paint almost every weekend.
I think it is a little silly for the grading criteria to give having a 12 inch display over an 8 inch display .5 points and then grade a tow rating rating over 1000 lbs over the other truck as a .5. There should be more of a weighted grading criteria for things that trucks are good at doing. So things like bed size/features, tow rating, off road capability, and hauling should get more of the focus over minor creature comforts with a bigger digital display or a heads up display.
Right. And judging a shallower box as better because it’s easier to reach into is obviously from someone who’s not actually owned/used a truck. Deeper cargo box means more volume (perhaps) and more securely positioned cargo….
Who cares on the size of the screen. Not sure what size my screen is in my 2016 F150. But it’s plenty big enough for what I need. Distracted driving, anyone?
i think the Colorado won this hands down. you get a more powerful truck that can tow quite a bit more with nearly identical features for $8000 less. the stuff you were giving the Tacoma points for are irrelevant and it all boils down to power, towing capacity and price. you even gave the tacoma points for a removable speaker that the colorado also offers that goes in the tailgate. none of that matters and is just fluff when talking about a truck. if these trucks were priced the same, then maybe the extra little features would add up to half a point, but giving points for all of the nonsense is artificially inflating the score of the tacoma. the tacoma has a lot to do to catch up.
The Toyota reputation for reliability has to be factored in also, which was never mentioned. Also when it comes time to trade or sell you can guess which will demand more money(PS: it ain’t the Chevy).
@@fritty9927 sure, toyota does have a solid reputation on reliability but i think both will have similar reliability in this comparison. the 2.7l in the colorado was introduced in 2019 and there have been trucks getting 200k+ miles in that time. i dont think reliability will be a problem for either truck.
@rozzbourn3653 yea, and that 2.7 is basically a diesel engine that runs on gasoline according to the design engineers and the cooling system is not necessarily dependent on running off of the fly wheel but is determined from electronic pumps and thermo sensors so it is always being cooled down, even when it's turned off after climbing a hill or towing. GM put a lot of thought into there engine design and build durability.
Toyota had much rougher gear shifts than the colorado while accelerating I would have given Chevy a point for that. Tacos are already experiencing transmission failures lol
9:20 No you DONT have to go into touch screen, the headlight button is on the main screen, it’s that little round yellow button , yes you can do it like your showing, but why when it’s on the main screen, also I haven’t needed to turn off my headlights since 1991, so at least Chevy made it super simple to do 👍
The main headlights are at the top of the screen (requires 2 taps and can't be done after turning off the truck), but the fog lights are in a different menu. I'm sure we operate the lights more than the average person for filming purposes, but we did find it annoying
I towed one (Colorado) yesterday and was impressed with the roominess and big feel. Its still tows like a big truck too. (aftermarket issue reason for tow) and it looks great
Chevy Colorado is obviously the better value for your money. Toyota used to be an economical car company but now over engineered with more things to prematurely break like unnecessary automatic power running boards, power lift gate, lighting controls hidden in the touchscreen display and the worst offender is subscription based features like remote start etc. They’re going full luxury vehicle mode. Not to mention the overall cost of ownership is over $53k which is over $5 more than the Chevy. The Chevy looks nicer in-front without the huge air buffer under the bumper that looks like an afterthought. Almost as if it was an aftermarket add on bought online. The chrome grill and wheels are ugly in the Tacoma.
That front air damn is easily removed. It was placed to get a fraction better mpg. Toyota realized most folks would remove it so they made it easy to remove.
Proud owner of '23 Colorado ZR2. Researched midsize trucks x5yrs. When 3rd gen Colorado was unveiled my choice was made. ZERO probs @ 3k miles. Took it up to alpine resort over Christmas, averaged 25+mpg on Bridgestone Blizzaks; just fantastic on the hwy; solid on/off road. Engine is smooth, powerful; pass vehicles effortlessly. I respect the Taco but for me it's NO match for the ZR2 in every category.
I am not sure how it is in the new Tacomas but for the 2022 tundra platinum and the 2023 4runner limited, after the remote start trial ends you still have it. You just dont have access to the app features. To remote start almost all Toyotas, you press the lock button three times and hold it on the last press. You can do this without the trial. Remote start on Toyota really isn't the best though since the truck will turn off when you unlock it which defeats the purpose.
Great review guys, I am a Toyota guy with a 2023 4runner that i love but on that note i would buy the chevy for 7K less and get more power too. The new model Toyotas are getting very expensive to say the least.
Great video. For me it's the toyota. The running boards the tail gate and the (hopefully) luxury interior. I switched from being a Chevy/Ford driver to a toyota driver in 2008. The reliability of Toyota wins in my book owned 4 Toyotas since 2008 and have had zero problems.
@@jonathanratliff4780Both are doing these turbo engines pretty well, the one used in colorado has established reliability because they had been using them in the Silverado since 2019. Now I don't think the turbo engine is a problem in the tacoma either but they're having transmission failures so far along with some other issues
GMC pay less now and suffer tomorrow. At the of the road, quality and reliability that is the key. Toyota will be running for longer timer with minor issues than the junk of GMC trucks.
@@tyler93539that isnt a guarantee, additionally we have had several 350k+ mile chevrolets and i currently have a 250k mile one that has lasted 22 years so far. At this point, i have my moneys worth out of it. Plus saving $8,000 now means that money can be put to work to grow to much more 22 years later. Chevy parts are affordable and working on them isn’t too hard. It isn’t like they are total heaps
@@Heatherder I don't mean to sound rude, but we are talking about 2024 model years not a 22 year old model year of course the old chevy trucks are amazing all the 22 year old trucks from the big 3 are amazing and will last forever, however the new GM trucks are the most towed trucks they have electrical issues and when they don't start you cant even put them in neutral without using a wrench on the transmission, also the GM 10 speed is the most common transmission in the transmission shop next to my brothers auto shop I've talked to the owner and he sees so many GM 10 speeds needing a full rebuild at 50k to 100k miles
For me, it's the power/torque, towing and cost advantage of the Colorado, versus the expected reliability and longevity and residual value of the Tacoma. Most of the other 'advantages' of the Tacoma are pure fluff, such as a slightly bigger infotainment screen, which do not affect core truck needs.
Obviously, Toyota upped the game of the very long-in-the-tooth Taco. The truck seems to be finally hospitable for folks over 6ft tall. That said, the true competitor to the Taco Limited is the GMC Canyon Denali, which addresses the exterior lighting and interior decor gaps that the Chevy doesn't, which is reflected in its price. While I expect the Tacoma to maintain its great resale value, I do wonder about very long-term reliability since it is all 4cyl turbo and soon to be hybrid as well. One of the hallmarks of the Taco is that it is low fuss on maintenance and legendary reliability. Only time will tell.
Considering you have to wait over 2 years for the taco I feel like the Chevy wins just based on availability 😅😂. Doesn’t matter how reliable the taco is if you can’t get your hands on one 🤷🏼♂️
@@ayushmalpeddi2793Did you notice in the video that the Chevy shifted way smoother than the Tacoma yet these toyota fanboys didn't give chevy a point for a clearly smoother transmission.
If money were no obstacle, of course Tacoma is the better choice. It'll undoubtedly be more reliable and have better resale. Unfortunately, here in the land of reality I'm not made of money to be so generous to gift Toyota an extra $7k, so I'll just split the difference between the two and buy a cheaper and just as dependable Frontier.
2024 Tacoma has barley nothing from the last 3 generations proven reliability, all new engines, new transmissions etc. The 24 pricing at 50+k for a midline truck, your better off with full sized truck at that price. I can already see the 24+ Tacomas are not going to sell like hot cakes just based of the drastic price jump from previous models. Toyta needs to take note with the built in tailgate steps.... My god are they one of thoes "once you have it, you can't ever get back" especially if your truck is lifted its a literal pain to get into my 23 Tacoma bed 😂 I specially bought a 23 last year knowing it would be the end of the generation and toyta is now in untested waters. The chevy has more practical stuff for everyone. New Tacomas has more yuppie features. I wish they put a v6 turbo in the new Tacomas, that would sell hot
Neither - I got the Chevy Colorado Trail Boss instead.... standard 2" factory lift, wide body, and the TurboMax engine for A LOT less money. I had to spend about $300 to swap out all the halogen light bulbs to LED from LasFit.
Toyota for me, I prefer the look, and the interior design, I also like the fact that it has features that almost any other midsize truck doesn’t have, like power running boards and an automatic tailgate. I also love the dynamic turn signals. Plus that hybrid powertrain coming soon will be sweet
The comparison should've been with the GMC Canyon Denali, much closer in price and features, still an interesting comparison if not quite apples to apples.
I agree with a comment that you should not compare a Colorado Z71 to Limited Tacoma. Should have used a Colorado Denail for a better comparison. I have owned the 2022 Colorado Denail and loved it but needed more towing power and bought the 2023 Silverado Z71 Durmax. Absolutely Love this truck.
As someone who has been towing for decades, more important than tow rating is payload capacity. Tacomas in the past have been woefully inadequate on payload capacity. Often, you will run out of payload by the time you are only half way to towing capacity. I don't know if Toyota fixed this issue. Finally, resale value on Tacomas tend to be sky high. So owners will likely recoup the $$ on higher initial price on resale. Hybrid Tacoma will be a game changer.
My family is both a Toyota and Chevy family. Have had 4 Tacoma's (currently have a 2019 TRD Sport) and three Tahoes. Just bought a 2023 Colorado ZR2. Would have thought about a TRD Pro but I'm pretty sure they will be "unobtanium" for a while and ones that do come in with mark ups will be 65K+ I'm sure. Both my Tahoes and Tacomas have all been reliable. Have to watch the rust on the Toyota's in the North East. Have to use Fluid Film or something similar as the Yota's rust badly underneath the minute they smell salt. Personally I think you can't go wrong with either truck.
You made a wise choice. The ZR2 is light years ahead of the Tacoma. Colorado is the best mid-size on the market & the Tacoma honestly is nowhere near as nice on exterior design nor interior. Easy choice … I’m getting a GMC Canyon AT4 … $48K well optioned.
Curious your thoughts, wouldn't driving through a canyon create more sound echoing off walls and back into cabin vs. driving down road with sound softening forest?
You must not be staying up on the Tacoma's. Transmission issues, poor quality from being made in Mexico. The 2024 values are going to tank quickly.....dealers have a ton on their lots and they are not selling.
I own a 2024 Chevy Trail Boss, and I test drove the Tacoma before buying it. In my opinion, the Tacoma is way overhyped and expensive. It's also not as powerful as the Chevy. The Tacoma is a nice-looking truck, but if you want a midsize truck with lots of power, I'd recommend the Chevy over the Tacoma.
I’ve been a Toyota fan all my life. Owned a Celica, and 2 4 Runners. But Toyota has lost its mind with their prices. I am most likely getting the ZR2 Colorado.
I have a 2nd gen Colorado. The 3rd gen cannot be configured the way mine is, so it is out. I'm not interested in Toyotas, so I don't know if they have a configuration I would like. I'll just be keeping my truck until I can no longer drive it. This video illustrates the problem. It goes on and on about features - things I don't need and don't want and which are used to try justify the high price. A truck is just a tool for carrying me and some things from one place to another. There are only a few modern features which I want.
Gents, I often watch/listen to some of the larger channels comparisons and I passed on your channel a few times due to the variety of reviews and honestly your age. I’ve found channels that do wide reviews typically hit highlights and seemingly aren’t that knowledgeable which was also the concern with your age (experience). I was pleasantly surprised with the in depth comparisons and the side by side comparisons throughout was very helpful and appreciated. Great video, I was wrong.
Y’all will need to do a ranger vs Tacoma. Hopefully a Trd off road/sport vs xlt fx4 as I feel those two will be more in line with most people’s realistic price ranges. Despite still being ridiculously expensive for mid size trucks. And of particular interest for me, the upcoming 2.7 ecoboost being added to the ranger. I feel that will be a nice option for points toward the ranger. I’m personally so conflicted on what I should get in the upcoming year between these two trucks
One thing also to consider with the Tacoma is that it has the D4S system which is port injection in addition to the direct injection. The port injection is used to clean the intake ports. It’s not always on since the direct injection is the primary system. No catch can needed!
@@jlynchtx well I had a 2020 Ranger and the truck itself was fine. It had the 2.3 ecoboost that was strong but I ran a catch can and it would fill with some crud that would have been in the intake ports. Only real issue was it would fill the crankcase with fuel. After about 1500 miles or so the oil level on the dipstick would rise about an 1/8 of an inch and the oil would start to get even thinner. Ford replaced the high pressure pump and an injector. Still did it though. You can research that issue here on UA-cam.
I like the Colorado & especially GMC Canyon much better than the Tacoma. The exterior design is more fluid & appealing with the GMC & the interior is also nicer on the AT4 & AT4X trim levels.
I think a fairer comparison to this z71 is the trd off road with the upgraded packages to match. Pricing will be very similar at that point and the 6 foot bed of the tacoma will make it the winner for me
Good review. Both trucks look nice especially the chevy appears to be a big improvement over the old model. That air dam on the taco is ridiculous and looks like a snow plow.
I was considering a new Colorado but the extra bed length is important to me and I don't need 4 doors. I also find that the availability of the manual 6 spd transmission is a plus, so the Toyota with less options suits me best.
colorado looks nice in and out. The out side front bumper air dam is a after thought on toyota. the tail gate down on the taco and cant step on a bumper to get in is weird. I personal think the interior looks cheap with blank buttons and looks like a big ipad stuck on the dash. Colorado has more power , more payload and towing, the engine they put in halftons . The bigest negative is just the short box only option on the gm product.
I understand that these are both midsize trucks, but that is pretty much where the similarities end, the Toyota you choose is far more of luxury edition vs the z71, a more close comparison would be the gmc canyon Denali at approximately $53k or a Toyota taco trd sport. Or like a ZR2 vs taco trd off road.
Awesome video. For me it’s going to be the Colorado: more power for towing and save a few thousand $$. I’m not a fan of paying for luxury features for a utility vehicle, the Colorado Trail Boss makes the most sense for me.
Hey my name is Eric I would take the Colorado Z71 over the Tacoma simply because of the price and power, To say I need the power rear tailgate naw !! I don't see the importance in a power gate so yeah the Chevy is my choice.
I'll most likely go with a 2024 GMC Canyon Denali. I don't do any offroading. I think the 2024 Tacoma's will be difficult to buy, and when you are able to, dealers will be charging an additional 5k+ markup.
@@johnmeeboer8971 They don't on the trucks I've been looking at. MSRP or below, plus GM employee (or family of employee) discount gets you well below MSRP. Sticker on the Canyon I'm looking at is $50k and I can get it for about $46.
Sorry I'm a Chevy guy so of course I'm motivated to swing my bias but it would've been helpful to know which features you guys added to the Colorado to close the price gap to $7k. The Z71 has a generous standard offering considering the actual $12k entry price difference; each consumer's desire for particular options will vary. Also, wasn't this a 2023 Colorado? As others have said, us GM-loving people would love to see you guys make another video comparing the '24 GMC Canyon Denali vs. '24 Tacoma Limited!
I cant get past how stupid that screen on the Toyota looks. Like they glued an ipad to the dash, lazy engineering. To be fair in a Tacoma hater after many many problems I've had with the last version. Bent tie rods, rusted frames, transmission problems, lack of power, cheap plastic interior squeaking, and popping and multiple electronic issues. They have good advertising and the old reputation of reliability that hasn't been factual for decades. But maybe I just got a lemon
I've had the same experience. I've had more reliable bmw's. Toyota dealers have given me unfavorable experiences. And once you look at reliability versus the idiots that can't figure out their entertainment systems, the real quality difference is really quite small and not worth toyota prestige pricing.
As a rule pf thumb, a naturally aspirated engine loses 3% of its horsepower per 1000 ft density altitude. Density altitude is a temperature adjusted air density compared to an ISA standard atmosphere. On days in denver above 41 degrees F, the density altitude increases accordingly. On a 95 degree day in denver the density altitude is about 9000ft, so the effective loss in horsepower is about 27%. On a 70 degree f day in the Eisenhower tunnel, the density altitude is about 14,400 ft, or 40-45% loss of horsepower. A turbocharged car is limited much less than that, with a small loss from the compressor working harder, and reduced intercooler effectiveness, and increases spool time. Still, it will be far less than 10% power lost even at the tunnel.
For the Toyota Adaptive dampers for a better ride on only the high end Limited?? That's disappointing.. That should be on all versions for the Tacoma...
Actually. I think the Frontier wins. The NA engine that rates higher MPG. You guys are the best. I am retired from the car biz. Have owned 164 vehicles. lol. The Taco is way $$$$
My company truck is the Colorado worst truck I ever drove. Heating problems, electric problems, door locks/ignition problems, oil leaks, traction control problems, engine problems. 2017 was in the shop every year had to be towed twice and my newer one 2022 has been in for oil leak and the heat still is poor they did fix the tail gate does not flip open by it self
right but I believe they removed android auto on that, going to a subscription model for their own chevy Operating System... which I would not be a fan of.

@@johnwhitneykokalis9990 anything you don't like about the truck so far?
@@johnwhitneykokalis9990 Reliability didn't worry you? On top of it being a turbo?
Subscription for remote start??? Hard pass!!
Obviously you are a Tacoma guy...
That front air dam on the Tacoma is HIDEOUS.
-5 POINTS
Holy!! $54K!! For Tacoma!!
i think the Colorado won this hands down. you get a more powerful truck that can tow quite a bit more with nearly identical features for $8000 less. the stuff you were giving the Tacoma points for are irrelevant and it all boils down to power, towing capacity and price. you even gave the tacoma points for a removable speaker that the colorado also offers that goes in the tailgate. none of that matters and is just fluff when talking about a truck. if these trucks were priced the same, then maybe the extra little features would add up to half a point, but giving points for all of the nonsense is artificially inflating the score of the tacoma. the tacoma has a lot to do to catch up.
@@rozzbourn3653 you could be right!
Sticking with my 23 tacoma. Some of us dont want every bell and whistle that they can shove in a truck.
yeah paying over price for a 2023 tacoma with the technologie of a 2013 chevrolet
Annoying 😂 You would never be able to drive a 1978 Silverado!
He just wanted to make Tacoma look better lol at EOD Colorado is better definitely the zr2
Everyone should buy the tacoma.... So I can get my colorado below msrp.
Toyota has a major problem. They are out of the price range of the general population. 😢
yes l believe your correct, the chevy colorado is 7k cheaper and more powerful and looks just as nice!!@@sammy-gd7hw
I'm a Tacoma owner and I agree. I don't really trust GM reliability, but other than that I think the Chevy wins hands down.
You'll be switching back now that Toyota went with a turbo
And Chevy knows how to do a turbo better!? 😂😂😂😂
There's a $7000 difference, pretty sure you could out real leather and powered step bars on for less than that.
Time will tell my friends.
@@jonathanratliff4780Both are doing these turbo engines pretty well, the one used in colorado has established reliability because they had been using them in the Silverado since 2019.
Now I don't think the turbo engine is a problem in the tacoma either but they're having transmission failures so far along with some other issues
I bought the Z71 Chevy and 8 love it! Most comfortable vehicle I have ever owned! I upgraded the turbo to 430lb ft of torque and it rocks!
Looking at doing the same. What did you use? I have been looking at the JB4.
I like the Canyon. I love Toyotas, but the cost difference is immense. Chevy/GMC will be discounting while Toyota dealers will be marking up.
the toyota truck will still be running at 400k miles cant say much about a GM running past 150,000 miles
And there is a reason for that
I think the Colorado looks better and the cost is a huge factor. No way I'm paying extra for the Tacoma.
I'll take the Toyota hands down. For reliability purposes only.
I’m personally a Honda guy (owner) but I like the power & ruggedness of this Colorado over the Taco.
3rd gen Tacomas have documented to clock 300k now. That's pretty darn good in my book since I have the V6 still and rather not have the new 4th gen.
It's not looking good. Look at all the issues they're having in the new hybrid tundras
@Beanjuice what issues?
I think all tree truck play in the same group.
Americans: “long in the tooth taco”
Americans: if only we could get the 70 series
For the price of the Tacoma you could get a GMC Canyon at4 or Denali. You could also get a Colorado zr2 which would dominate every categorie
Considering you have to wait over 2 years for the taco I feel like the Chevy wins just based on availability 😅😂. Doesn’t matter how reliable the taco is if you can’t get your hands on one 🤷🏼♂️
AMEN BROTHER!
LMAO Toyota is already replacing the transmissions on the new Tacomas
I'd take the Colorado.
Chevy Colorado
Toyota for me, I prefer the look, and the interior design, I also like the fact that it has features that almost any other midsize truck doesn’t have, like power running boards and an automatic tailgate. I also love the dynamic turn signals. Plus that hybrid powertrain coming soon will be sweet
The comparison should've been with the GMC Canyon Denali, much closer in price and features, still an interesting comparison if not quite apples to apples.
???????? Must be a Toyota hater lol.
Yup, agree, need to compare apples to apples.
The gear shifts were way smoother on the Colorado I would have given chevy a point there, tacoma's are already experiencing transmission issues lol
I want that zr2 bad but can't justify the spend right now. How are you liking it?
You made a wise choice.
The ZR2 is light years ahead of the Tacoma. Colorado is the best mid-size on the market & the Tacoma honestly is nowhere near as nice on exterior design nor interior. Easy choice … I’m getting a GMC Canyon AT4 … $48K well optioned.
Curious your thoughts, wouldn't driving through a canyon create more sound echoing off walls and back into cabin vs. driving down road with sound softening forest?
Colorado has auto 4wd as well
Im taking the chevy calorado
You're taking the historical transmission issue as well.
How about a point for the clorado for gas mileage......same as the taco but a bigger much more powerful engine, Yall are definitely Toyota boys....
Toyota Guy, tundra and Tacoma holds its value, better overall solid trucks .
I would take the Toyota tacoma!
Two times a day and three times on Saturday!
Thanks for this comparison. I am looking to get the colorado, hopefully i can add the power running board to mine when m ready.
You can’t order Toyotas with desired options. Colorado you can.
Thanks for sharing that! We appreciate it!
We are planning on it once we're get hands on with the new Ranger 👍
Tacoma deal killers...18.2 gal gas tank and have to keep the subscription for remote start.
Whats with the ugly snowplow deflector on the Tacoma? Thats huge and ugly
One thing also to consider with the Tacoma is that it has the D4S system which is port injection in addition to the direct injection. The port injection is used to clean the intake ports. It’s not always on since the direct injection is the primary system. No catch can needed!
That’s interesting to know. How does the engine on the new 24 Ford Ranger compare to these two?
@@jlynchtx well I had a 2020 Ranger and the truck itself was fine. It had the 2.3 ecoboost that was strong but I ran a catch can and it would fill with some crud that would have been in the intake ports. Only real issue was it would fill the crankcase with fuel. After about 1500 miles or so the oil level on the dipstick would rise about an 1/8 of an inch and the oil would start to get even thinner. Ford replaced the high pressure pump and an injector. Still did it though. You can research that issue here on UA-cam.
I've been a long time Toyota driver. I'll very likely upgrade my Tacoma Prerunner with a new SR.
I like the Colorado & especially GMC Canyon much better than the Tacoma. The exterior design is more fluid & appealing with the GMC & the interior is also nicer on the AT4 & AT4X trim levels.
These new midsizes are pretty much fullsized pick ups from 6 years ago. So im guessing the shift over to midsize is the play because of that.
Totally agree
I like the look of the Colorado, but the Taco TRD Pro is probably what I would get
These are trucks and you did not include the truck aspects in your comparisons. Cargo volume, towing capacity, payloads, etc.
I'm buying colorado. USA all the way.
Most definitely the Tacoma. They need to talk about the resale value comparison as well. Looking at the TRD Pro.
I gotta say, is bigger better with the screens at this point. I think what we really need is a well designs and well placed touch screen.
54k is so expensive, a full truck can be had for this price
I understand that these are both midsize trucks, but that is pretty much where the similarities end, the Toyota you choose is far more of luxury edition vs the z71, a more close comparison would be the gmc canyon Denali at approximately $53k or a Toyota taco trd sport. Or like a ZR2 vs taco trd off road.
add the 10k over MSRP dealer markup on the tacoma all of them are over msrp in my state.
I think the 2024 Tacoma's will be difficult to buy, and when you are able to, dealers will be charging an additional 5k+ markup.
and gm dealers will not have mark ups?
@@johnmeeboer8971 They don't on the trucks I've been looking at. MSRP or below, plus GM employee (or family of employee) discount gets you well below MSRP. Sticker on the Canyon I'm looking at is $50k and I can get it for about $46.
@@johnmeeboer8971 no markups at any of the dealers near me for the new trucks, some actually have some decent rebates

So 55k for tacoma no memory seats pay for remote start and shower ill take the colorado
And once you look at reliability versus the idiots that can't figure out their entertainment systems, the real quality difference is really quite small and not worth toyota prestige pricing.
how does the 2024 Tacoma engine perform in high Altitude such as denver colorado?
Lol nevermind i see you are a pilot 😅 you probably know all of that
For the Toyota Adaptive dampers for a better ride on only the high end Limited?? That's disappointing.. That should be on all versions for the Tacoma...
Toyota, because it has a significantly better reputation, is more reliable, more luxurious and an overall better choice
Chevy all way
Nobody talks about rear seats space, Tacoma is like a Mustang in that department.
You didn’t compare similar trucks. For luxury the limited compares to the Denali
I appreciate the review, but what gets me is. Nobody but scotty kilmer ever talks about the Turbo and what can go wrong.
thank you for the comprehensive comparison, but still looking at the more versatile toyota 4 runners
Actually. I think the Frontier wins. The NA engine that rates higher MPG. You guys are the best. I am retired from the car biz. Have owned 164 vehicles. lol.
The Taco is way $$$$
I had a 22’ Nissan pro x and no it doesn’t .. most unimpressive truck I’ve ever owned
Noticed no antenna sticking up on the video of the 2024 Colorado. Is this a welcome change?
They both DO NOT have massive air damns... thats the Tacoma my friend... I def feel as though your favor the Tacoma too.
There's been some good model years for colorado but they've missed the mark a few times.
Just ordered a '24 Z71. GM has improved on some areas over the 23 model year.
right but I believe they removed android auto on that, going to a subscription model for their own chevy Operating System... which I would not be a fan of.
