As an airsofter, I feel that though a drinking tube (plus canteen with the correct top) isn't really super necessary, but if you need to go far with it (let's say you're going to be hurrying along 3 km), then it's going to add a lot of comfort, unless you don't mind breaking the seal. So as far as extra features go, it's the most useful trait you don't need.
Again for military use it serves a purpose, not so much for civilians, especially if you don't know how to use the drinking tube without compromising the masks seal, some drinking tubes can cause massive problems in that regard.
Exactly, I've had people get really shitty at me before saying but I was in the army and had to have a mask on for hours so a drinking tube is a really useful feature you idiot! I would think the only need I would go for is some kind of anti fog system for sight purposes. Other than that, Id happily go for something similar to that British civilian respirator from WWII.

Hey, will the rubber of an s10 survive airsoft? Also if I remove the particular layer of the standard S10 filter and glue or tape the top back together I should be able to breathe way easier right? (It's not hard to breathe through it but its easy for me anyways)
I wouldn't recommend it, you'd need to reinforce the lenses first, otherwise they will break, you may also need to reinforce some of the plastic parts.
The S10 does great for airsoft IF you replace the lenses with poly ones (you can buy them on ebay). As for other comments, the S10 is a strong, cheap and modern mask, I paid £20 for my 2007 one. As for the filter, you're best playing without it all together, but I guess you could take it apart and take out the particle filters and charcoal, something I've been thinking about doing with one of my spare filters for a while.

A fm12 for 40 to 60 pounds is a fairly good price. A s10 usually costs 20 to 60 pounds (depending on the condition). So you should grab onto that bargain.
