I am ashamed that this happened in my hometown. I live in Oakville. I didn't go to this high school, but I do agree that the Halton District School Board should develop an appropriate dress for everyone. If students have to follow a dress code, teachers must also do the same. Many transgender people have dressed appropriately and did not gain national attention in Canada and the US.

It is bewildering that the School Board was more worried about Kayla's feelings than the feelings of the students. They deserved to have a safe classroom environment and instead were faced with a circus everyday because of the perverted needs of their teacher. Kayla insulted both women and transgender with her disrespectful costume and total negligence of her duty as an educator. I live in Toronto Ontario - not far from Oakville and the story got extensive coverage. I'm glad Kayla was removed from the classroom. Thanks for a great (and entertaining) analysis!

This guy was a convicted murderer, he hadn't lived as a transwoman prior to going to jail, and he had never had surgery or even been on hormone therapy. The prison board had all the wisdom of the school board in this video, because they approved his request. Soon after transfering to a woman's prison, he impregnated two other inmates... It is a massive human rights scandal, that is if you consider women to be human beings. These days, who does?

Great take, as usual. Thanks for commenting sanely on this.
I personally have a very strong reaction about this story/situation. As a little girl, I developed very fast, and very young (by age 9/10, I required a woman's bra, sized B). It was horrific, not only because I was a total tomboy, but also because I was constantly picked on and treated unfairly (and creepily) by adults over it.
Didn't seem to matter that I was wearing kid clothes, even with cartoon stuff on it most of the time, obviously NOT trying to look like a sexually mature adult. Or that I was mentally and emotionally still very immature (I was still playing with dolls, and playing make believe games, for example). I was still constantly being told how scandalous and "too sexy" I was. Just for existing and having had puberty happen so fast. Like I had some kind of choice in the matter. Like it "proved" my sexual immorality.
I even had some friends' parents forbid them to be around me because I was a "bad influence".
"She's doing things with boys. I can tell." Like I was some Lolita.
In reality, I never even kissed a boy until I was almost 17 (all the focus on my body by people made me absolutely terrified of being physically involved whatsoever with boys), and I didn't engage in sexual activity until almost 19.
The only thing I can assume is that they decided to believe the extremely unscientific, and archaic, old wives' tales about larger breasts developing purely due to sexual activity. As if a girl's size there is actually due to them having sex. And the more they do it, the larger they get 🙄
This was a reason, for example, Henry VIII gave for finding Anne of Cleaves objectionable as a wife when he met her in person. He said he had been lied to about her "virtue", as "everyone knows" only women who aren't maidens have large chests.
Apparently, some people still thought this in the 80's? 😂
(I'm not talking about if a woman has been pregnant, they get bigger. Obviously that happens. But if a 9 or 10 year old has large breasts... It's not "proof" that that CHILD is engaging in stuff like that. And if you think that, why are you not trying to save them, then? A NINE year old shouldn't be doing that. They're being abused if they are. Do the right thing. Either admit you're judging a kid based on unscientific superstitious hooey, or you're victim-blaming. No one should be gossiping about a freaking little girl. Y'know?!)
Anyway, It was humiliating and traumatizing. It actually made me hate myself, my body, and the idea of sex in general. It actually made me have feelings of not wanting to "be around" anymore.
It took until I was 30 something, and a ton of therapy for what was basically gender dysphoria (I thought at that point maybe I was trans. Turned out I just hated being a girl because I associated it with pain and shame), for me to even be ok with my body, and my feminine body parts. Thankfully I got a really great therapist who helped me be comfortable with myself.
So, I find it particularly infuriating that suddenly it's totally fine for this person to have cartoonishly huge, obviously fake breasts around children. I'm sure the person being biologically male is completely a coincidence though 😐😂
I support trans people who are actually trans, but think A LOT of overly agreeable cowardly people are just allowing bad actors to take advantage, rather than risk "offending" people. People are so terrified of being canceled that they're letting REALLY wacky, inappropriate stuff go on in the name of "inclusivity".
Not sure what's going on here with this person. But doesn't sound like they're trans.
I also support women to be able to wear what they want (within reason. I still think of someone's a teacher, they shouldn't be wearing what they'd wear on a "spicy" date or to a club. Be professional).
But this person is either trolling or a creep. Either way, they need to not be allowed to be a teacher. If you want to troll people to make a point, on your own time, in your own space, fine. Have a party. You do you. But it needs to not involve actual minors. Leave kids out of it!
And if you think high schoolers aren't * really * "kids", you're either not much older than them (likely under 25) yourself, or you're unhealthy emotionally.
Every healthy, emotionally mature adult knows teens are still very much immature in a lot of very critical ways. They shouldn't be put into a situation like what that teacher put them in.
    Anyway, that's my take.

A trans view on this: Im trans but I'm not part of the community for many reasons. One being that dogmatism you mentioned. Thing is there's this thing called boymode when your male to female trans, especially early in your transition because masking your masculine features at this stage is hard and just walking out as a male is just a break from that. Especially at home. Thats normal, thats acceptable and pretty common. Whats sus for me is that she's not admitting that because it would be so easily explainable 🤔 if you are familiar with the trans experience especially. Also, and I blame the whole trans ideology for this: you can develop delusions especially early in the transition process by the hormonal changes alone and its extremely damaging to affirm them. Just blindly accepting everything a trans person says doesn't help anyone. Not even trans ppl.. I personally could imagine that its the case here and thats a road she should be helped to get out of not being pushed deeper into by self righteous ideologues.

    • @corneliahanimann2173
      @corneliahanimann2173 Рік тому +11

maybe I don't completly understand what you were saying. I personally think it's always better to believe the people when they talk to you. Not because they have a perfectly accurate perception of reality, but you're going to get much closer to what actually is a dysfunction when you get close enough to observe how their perception functions. I got that idea from HealthyGamerGG on youtube, who is a psychiatrist and he said that in his years of working with patients that have delusions and mental illnesses, one of them actually turned out to have been followed by the FBI for several years. So that wasn't just a person that showed up in his office and thought the FBI was following him, it actually was actually following him, but even if it wasn't, how would telling them that he is imagining it really change anything? I know this tough love type of approach works out for a lot of people, but for a huge part of the people, it makes them double down and reinforce the thing they believe in and seek even more explanations that will support their claims. Unless I get a degree in psychology and or psychiatry, I'm not going to just straight up deny what someone truly believes, and instead either send them to a psychologist or psychiatrist, or I'll make sure someone is looking after that person, or I'll actually try and make that effort to the best of my abilities as a friend. But besides that part, I find your comment very insightful, about boymode and male to female trans and even the delusions. I have not had that brought up in any conversation I had in the past and I think that's a great observation and I think I learned something new with that today, so thank you :)

She would maintain safety procedures like pulling hair back and wearing appropriate clothes for working around dangerous equipment. She would dress in a non sexual manner around her co-workers and especially around her students. My female teachers never dressed like that. My kid's teachers never dress Iike that. Excellent commentary on ideologies and dogmatic behavior, Dr. Grande. Diverse human groups throughout history have always fallen prey to ideological capture in one way or another, this is not the first or the last. We should aim to look at the past to learn how to overcome this new one. I suppose when it is this nonsensical and when people outside of the ideology are already getting affected (women, parents & children), and even inside in a way (real trans individuals who do exist in very small numbers), the ideology has to fizzle out eventually. I do wonder if the pendulum will then swing all the way to the other side, which would then bring injustice and pain to real trans individuals. Hopefully it does not get to that point.

Kayla being trans isn't a reason to go around with ridiculously large prosthetic breasts that are obviously fake and not due to some natural hormonal issue. I also believe sexuality and gender identities can change in rare occasions, but to go back and forth all day everyday sounds like someone who doesn't truly know who they really are. This person is the reason why when real body shaming or transphobia happen people won't take it as seriously. She is obviously doing this for attention and seems to be mocking the trans community more than anything.
Thanks for you great analysis. I'm 100% a body positive trans ally, but this person is doing this for attention and the school board should have had more common sense. Things like this harm trans people more and gives the public the wrong idea of what being trans really is.
