Great band- still touring thank God. Can't get enough- last at Ronnie Scotts last month. In spite of recent changes still a fantastic band. Still none better at this Jazz Rock fusion.
Fantastico!!!!!!
Same here. I've been a fan for at least 10 years and I just got to see them for the first time this week up in Massachusetts! They KILLED it, I was expecting a great show and I was impressed beyond that. This is no "lets just mail it in for the nostalgia" band, these guys are pushing the envelope and playing at their best.
Soft Machine like Gong seem to have turned into trust like entities. Anybody who's ever put foot into the trust's building appears to be entitled (or is it only due to the lack of protest) to show off under the very moniker. With Ratledge's departure in 1976 the last founding member left. BTW, did you know that Ratledge and Jenkins are responsible for one of the most annoying pieces of music (worse than BJH or Chris de Burgh!): Adiemus: Songs of Sanctuary? (For that and the treatment of Wyatt his place in hell is secured. ;-)
who cares. sometimes it's nice to just see skilled musicians playing the music live, irrespective of if they're 'original members' or 'entitled to'... Etheridge played on Softs which is about 50 years old...
Mr. Travis reminds me of Ivor Cutler in that hat and jacket 🤓😺👂🍴Beautifully played.
