We love our Speedi. I also bought a Ninja two-door oven and LOVE it! I don't use my gas oven anymore. The Ninja oven saves me time and space. Plus, I can move it easily. We recently purchased a Ninja coffee maker, and it is the BEST coffee source we've ever had. Ninja rules in our kitchen. Thanks for the review. I was curious about the comparison between Combi and Speedi. Thanks for the great review.
I have both. But, I am selling my Speedi now. I loved the Speedi, but I didn't like having to pull the crisper tray out anytime I needed to mix or check what going on underneath - kind of a pain. Also, it was too small for my family. The Combi is amazing!! We use it every single day, sometimes 3 times. Mine did have a small defect where there was a small crack inside the door on the housing unit (upper right). Half-moon shape. I've seen this exact same defect on other videos. I'm currently waiting for a replacement. Since it's been gone now for a week, I'm missing it for sure. Thanks for this great comparison video! :)
Thanks for your reply Jamie. Twice I have tried 'Speedi Meals' with only sweet potatoes in the crisp tray with absolutely nothing in the bottom of the machine. I then adjust the cooking time and temperature and press the start button. 'REP' lights up on the machine and nothing at all happens after that. I gave up after 20 minutes as nothing happened. Do you think the machine is faulty or am I doing something wrong? This is the second machine (as I sent the first one back with the same problem), I'm thinking it's me possibly doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
In Speedi meals mode, the heading element under the pot heats up. Perhaps if it detects there's nothing inside, it won't heat up. Similar to a pressure cooker telling you there's not enough liquid. Just a theory. Try cooking them in air fryer mode instead. - J

So glad I found you guys today and my 3rd video of yours so far. Really well delivered, no fuss, fully informative, clear and easy! I'm trying to weigh up options on airfryers and combis. Huge Help! (Dubai, United Arab Emirates)
I have the Combi. I never bought the Speedi as I felt, having the OL series PC, the Speedi was not offering anything new. I did not like the fact that, when checking what was cooking on the bottom, top plate had to be removed. In addition, I didn’t want juices/dripping from top into bottom. When the Combi came out with the large window and solid-top sheet pan, I immediately knew I’d purchase it; adding it to my complete arsenal of Ninja. Absolutely no regrets. As with any device, there’s a learning curve; slight.
In the UK as of today the Combi costs £279.99 and you can buy the Speedi for £129.99. That makes the speedi a no brainier for me. Also the ability to saute and cook like you are using a pan on the hob is a fantastic addition. Saying that, the lid opening up is a tad annoying on the speedi but once you've allocated a space for it, it's not an issue. Great balanced and fair review guys. Keep up the excellent work.
Got my combi from qvc on the tsv £199 and loving it. I like the idea of 60 days to test it out. Finding the speeding for £129 was good but there wouldn't be space under my counters for me. I think they are very similar
The Combi looked way better as far as color. I would adjust the temperature by 10 degrees then you would retain more juices the combi was 10 degrees higher when he checked the temperature. First time viewing great video.
In the UK the heater element on the Speedi is locked behind a grate so you can't even light clean it :( i think the Combi is good with the glass and front loading, just needs a deeper Speedi pan rather than the two separate ones. Does the Speedi pan fit in the Combi???
Hey guys, I’m trying to decide on a cooker that can handle the bulk of my meal prep with minimal thought as I am no chef and simply follows the recipes in the books. I’m trying to get as much food out of one cook as possible (thinking meat/grain/veg at once, if possible) and split it for the week. Topping the list is the Foodi Smart Lid Pressure Cooker XL 8qt, the Combi, and the Speedi. Combi and XL seem to me to maximize food volume, and Speedi, while smaller(?), advertises meals for 4 and makes recipes dead simple with the recipe builder. Other considerations in order of most to least importance: cleanup, cookable meal variety, space, door hinging mechanism, price. What would yall recommend me towards? Am I missing something I should be looking at? Would be curious on how yall think the Foodi Smart Lid Pressure cooker stacks up against these two as well. Btw, your consistency in answering comments on videos, even older ones, is incredible! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! The first consideration would be, if you need a pressure cooker function, then it's the Smart lid. If simplicity/speed is what you're after, get the Speedi. And if vertical space is an issue for the door mechanism, get the Combi. Hope this helps! - J
@@TheAverageKitchen I’m unsure if pressure cooking or air frying or steaming is best suited for my needs (kitchen novice). To me, it doesn’t really matter as long as the food comes out fine. Top lid/door is a non-issue since I will be taking it out once on Sunday, using it, then putting it away until the next week.
Love your show, I already have the speedi and I think I will be sticking with it. I did look into the combi, but as I only have a small family and have a few other appliances, so it wouldnt really be needed in my kitchen. I think there will be other people out there, like me who dont have a huge kitchen, to fit this larger appliance. Many thanks for your honest reviews guys. Did the milk boil over in the combi in the last combi review? You didnt say.
New to the channel , because looking to replace my 3yo InstantPot Vortex. So many reviews, with so many new options online. Love your realistic style- cooking for a family and the realities of storage, cleaning, capacity, etc.. Channel is bound to grow. Subscribed from Ireland. (p.s. we also say paa-sta)😉
All heating elements must have a removable dual mesh spatter shield to keep food spatters from dirtying behind the element. Ninja already does this with their 4 in1 or 5 in 1 indoor grill crispers. When the spatter shield gets dirty you can unclip it and place it in a dishwasher or deep soak it in soda water and nail it with a stiff bristle brush. They do this with all their air fryers, and ovens, would be game changing in reducing smoking. Only Ninja product that should be smoking are their outdoor smoke box pizza ovens and outdoor grills.
Good video. So when you cook the chicken or any meat.....the raw chicken drippings (whatever it is) drip down into whatever food you have at the bottom? Can you airfry or bake a whole chicken in the speedi? Thanks!
The speedi is the best because you can easily clean the surrounding of the heating element each time you steam something, giving you a piece of mind for the next meal. The combi is larger and more convenient for having a front door, but it is harder to clean. crap will accumulate on the top of the heating element, and the next time you cook, especially if you steam, that crap may liquify and fall into your food without you knowing.
Hi, could you please answer a question about the Speedi? Is it possible just to cook on the crisper tray and not use the bottom of the machine in Speedi meals?
I do wonder how often you'll have to replace the combi and how long it will really last. You can't get in there and clean that fan and won't it eventually gunk up and just stop working?
I LOVE my Speedi and use it at least 3X/week. My Speedi also has A LOT of mileage (family of 3). One other thing: to avoid having to clean so much, you can always use foil on the bottom - and this will also help with drippings from the Speedi upper tray if you want to avoid that. Also: LOVE your videos! (From Atlanta, GA)
How hard is it to clean? I use my ninja foodi grill, and the top inside (where the element is) is nearly impossible to keep clean. Also, have you made bacon in them?
Buy a second crisper tray for speedi it gives it much more options for meals. You can do starch on bottom, vegtables on next tray with legs folded in. Top tray meat with legs folded out. I bought speedi for Florida and combi for ny. Bjs wearhouse has clearance speedi $49
Awesome review. I ordered the Ninja Combi. It would be great to see more recipes for that on your channel. Maybe even make a cooking book (also with metric measurements) for the combi. Greetings from Germany.
When I bought my XL oven they gave me a cheap tray that took forever to clean and was a pain so I had to buy their more expensive tray so that I had no more washing problems even with tough burnt issues. can you buy another tray that is a better no stick to it?
Lifting the Speedi crisp tray. I find a fork inserted under that raised bit lets you lift it quite easy, with a bit of practice - even if loaded with food.
It's me from Denmark ;) I don't know if you remember I talked about buying a combi microwave oven instead of another airfryer, well I ended up with both. I bought the Instant Vortex Slim-5,7 L, should be very quiet.
Your pronunciation of Pasta is tutto perfetto 😀no paws involved 😂. Thank you for yet another very helpful and very well made video. I can't wait for the Ninja combi to appear here on the European market, so far we only get the speedi. I do have a problem to decide which one I want, I bake a lot and the combi holds all my baking dishes and trays - the speedi gives me only 20cm in diameter... still, the capacity of the speedi would be more than enough for me. The combi might be a bit oversized for just one person but I also like cooking and freezing stuff. Some things (like a yummi chili con carne) taste so much better when cooked in bigger quantities. So, I'm still undecided but it's very likely the speedi for me... although... the front-load combi is a lot more practical... Gawwwd, I'm still arguing with myself 😂 All the best to you and your loved ones, thank you for the great job you guys are doing, hugs and smiles from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀ Lisa
Great video guys and a tough choice to make. I hear Marc is a world traveler. I bet he hasn't been to Espanola , Ontario or better yet Iron Bridge, Ontario.😁 Viva Las Canada! 🇨🇦
I don't know I like my speedi way to much.. I cannot live without it. Also the other one combi doesn't exists in the EU at the time of me writing this message
That's why I keep checking amazon ever so often if the comi is out, yet. I've not been able to make up my mind so far but I sure will. Videos like this here really help to get a better idea of the "magic box" 🙋🏻♀
@@karamymassageclinic absolutely you need a step down convertor and those ones for high wattage electronics cost a fortune plus it creates so much bulk terrible idea. Get the speedi or wait
@@karamymassageclinic I opted for not using an adapter. I'm not so sure about different standards ... Another problem is the service and warranty... always a bit complicated on long distances. Still, I keep checking. Actually, I am now also waiting for the Cosori ceramic air fryer toaster oven... Would love to watch a review of it on here. Best wishes from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀Lisa
I'm torn between these two! I must say, I do like that the Combi keeps the drippings separate from underneath. But I also like the deep basket of the Speedi. BUT, we are a family of 5, so maybe the Combi would be better? But there's also a good chance my husband and I will make something just for us and then something else that our picky kids will eat. So I'm not even sure we'd always need the extra space the combo provides. Counter space isn't an issue. I'm also not sure which would would make the meats crispier? I feel like because the Speedy has the basket with the holes, that that would make it crispier, but it also has the steam from underneath coming up directly under it and going through those same holes. I'm not a fan of the solid pan that the Combi has because in my experience without those holes for airflow, things don't get as crispy, either. I'm just not sure! Help. 😂
Great review. Thanks. I was pretty much sold on the Speedi already so I'm relieved to see nothing here that changes my mind. I was estimating that my worktop clearance would be enough for me to open the lid but thanks so much for actually doing the measurement so I can now be certain and the height/width/depth when closed are on the Ninja product specs of course. I've just had my kitchen refitted and there's a really awkward little alcove at the end of my worktop where it runs into a gap next to a chimney breast but that gap is pretty much exactly 1" wider and 1" deeper than the Speedi so it will slide in there so neatly when not in use thus solving my dilemma of what to do with that awkward little space. And by the look of it the grey of the Speedi will match the colour of my worktop. It must be destiny! One thing on cleaning the top element - Amazon UK (so I'm sure the USA too) sell a magnetically attaching splash guard to protect the top element that looks pretty good quality and has had good reviews from Speedi owners. I'm guessing I can't post links in these comments but the product title on the Amazon UK store is "Aieve Air Fryer Splatter Screen, Air Fryer Splatter Guard Air Fryer Accessories Compatible with COSORI 4.7L Air Fryer/Ninja Speedi ON400UK Air Fryer" so maybe searching on that might help Jamie and others find it if they are interested. My only complaint - that every single reviewer seems to comment on - is that silly little grab tab (not even worthy of being called a handle) on the top protein tray. When I get mine I might see if I can bolt something onto the top of that little tab (a wire loop or a small-ish metal bracket of some sort) to give something better to grab onto with tongs. That's the only bit of the design where I think the Ninja designers did slip up a bit but apart from that the Speedi looks pretty much perfect for me.
Great review, I'm from the uk and here we don't get as many ninja products as the US but we have the combi and the ninja foodi 10 in 1 you reviewed both and both scored high at overall 8.7, I know they are in slightly different categories of cooking but I'm confused in which one to buy we are a family of 5. Can you please give me your opinion. Thanks in advance.
I think the 10-in-1 is probably more versatile in terms of daily use, but the Combi all in one meals are pretty convenient I have to say. Very tough call. Might be a challenge feeding 5 people (depending on portion sizes) with the Combi, so I might lean towards the oven. Hope this helps! - J
The Heating Element is Ninja's biggest problem not easy to clean. Ninja making these a lot you would think they would design a way to clean the whole machine easily!
😂 I love the way you say PASTA! While we're on the subject, the word OUT is said differently too! Sounds like they forgot that one!😁 I need Jamie to give me cooking lessons with the Speedi - I cooked stew in it and burnt it all the way to hell and back, so now I'm a little leary to use the thing again. I guess I need to pull out my big girl pants and bite the bullet.
Man you're lazy. Both machines do 90% of the work already and you're worried about cleaning it. Enough to put you off on committing on purchasing one appliances. Bet you're that guy who piles and piles dishes for days and days in the sink.
It really doesn't I just wipe out the inside with a cloth that I keep just for the combi. The rest goes in the dishwasher or wash by hand the whole thing take a few mins to sort out.
I am not sure I see the use case of these cookers. Cooking some rice, pasta and then some meat on the side does not seem so difficult and time consuming?
As a disabled person who loves to cook but can struggle with movement, being able to throw everything in at once, having it be at the right height (not needing to bend like I have to to use my regular oven), and it being overall faster with great results. Makes it a great option for someone like me
I have the Speedi and I love it. However I really like the look of the Combi too, but my husband says “No more Ninjas!!” ( we already have four) 😂😂 I’m in 🇬🇧 and we usually say “Paaasta” but if you’re so called “posh” then you say “paawsta”😂😂😂 Great videos guys, thank you so much❤😁👍
Combi fails when making coated meats on the top tray since no crisper tray to hold the meat ouf of drippings. Speedi I bought another crisper that gave me 3 layers to cook on and had no problem using coated meat like fried chicken or coated pork chops
Both are incredible machines but I tend to lean a little bit more towards the Combi, buuuut, for the $69.99 that the Speedi is on sale at Sam's Club, that would be a tough choice.😂😂
Ninja devices I don't like, thirsty I prefer sodastream much more options. Creami I like regular ice cream makers thermal electric again easier to make ice cream but not in 80 degree temps. I do own the creami but haven't used it yet. No room in fridge for ice cream containers to sit flat
@@TheAverageKitchen I bought their dual air fryer oven on QVC because 5 payments and didn't think to much of it until started using it now I'm sold on it. My Ninja experience started with their chopper bought to cut butter into flour for scones. Now got dual air fryer oven, speedi, combi, 10 qt dual draw air fryer, blast and professional prep center. Got to give them credit for jumping from worst to first everyone is trying to catch up to.

Amazing feedback thanks !! Marc
Thanks for the great comment! - J
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! And totally agree, that's a no-brainer decision at those prices. - J
Thanks so much and good points! - J
In the UK the heater element on the Speedi is locked behind a grate so you can't even light clean it :( i think the Combi is good with the glass and front loading, just needs a deeper Speedi pan rather than the two separate ones. Does the Speedi pan fit in the Combi???
We haven't tried that! Good question. I would suspect not though. - J
I would go with the Speedi based on what you're saying, although honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. Go with the best deal! - J
Amazing review. The speedi looks very interesting to me and it is on sale here in Denmark.
Thanks so much! I say buy it! - J
Thanks for the video. Have the Speedi but thinking about the Combi due to the bigger size. 👍
Nice! Link is in the description if you decide to buy! - J
Thanks so much for the fantastic feedback!! We really appreciate your support. And no the milk did not surprisingly !!! Marc
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! - J
Great review. I’ve considered the Combi, but I like the depth of the Speedi pan. Also cooking for one or two.
Theres no wrong choice really, they're both great, but I do live the Speedi. - J
On the combi i used unbleached parchment paper under the meats to keep the mess minimal...always a good idea. never had an issue
Great tip! - J
Where do you gind good recipes for the speedi besides the book it came with?

I don’t have either one ! But you never know !!
Congrats Jamie ❤️

All heating elements must have a removable dual mesh spatter shield to keep food spatters from dirtying behind the element. Ninja already does this with their 4 in1 or 5 in 1 indoor grill crispers. When the spatter shield gets dirty you can unclip it and place it in a dishwasher or deep soak it in soda water and nail it with a stiff bristle brush. They do this with all their air fryers, and ovens, would be game changing in reducing smoking. Only Ninja product that should be smoking are their outdoor smoke box pizza ovens and outdoor grills.
Good to know ! Marc
I think you are probably correct, thanks for the advice 😁
No problem. Thanks for watching! - J
Good video. So when you cook the chicken or any meat.....the raw chicken drippings (whatever it is) drip down into whatever food you have at the bottom?
Can you airfry or bake a whole chicken in the speedi? Thanks!
Yes they do. And I would say you could do a whole chicken no problem. Marc
Hi guys love your videos of doing products I actually own the ninja foodi pro pressure cooker the ninja Speedi and I just bought the Ninja Combi
Thanks so much. Marc
Very good review. We have the combi in Well, Netherlands
Thanks so much! - J
Just got today Ninja combi. Used combi cooker butter chicken and rice. Dinner for 3. Came out just right.😊
Awesome! - J
Great insight, I agree with your points. Thanks for watching. Marc
Can you do a video comparing (which to choose) from FlexBasket™ Air Fryer vs 6-in-1 Indoor Grill & Air Fryer, please. Which one would you choose?

Hi, could you please answer a question about the Speedi? Is it possible just to cook on the crisper tray and not use the bottom of the machine in Speedi meals?
Technically, yes. But then you wouldn't use the Speedi Meal function, more like air fryer mode. - J
Hey, can you guys make a braised beef short rib with the foodi smart XL pressure cooker? Thanks!
We got out of the recipe video game, but you never know.... Thanks for watching! - J
I have both and use them both they each have a purpose but I am shocked how many are scared of the Combi and it isn't hard to use at all
Thanks for the comment! - J
My 9 year old uses ours.
I do wonder how often you'll have to replace the combi and how long it will really last.
You can't get in there and clean that fan and won't it eventually gunk up and just stop working?
We’ve also wondered the same. Marc
Still waiting for the combi oven to come out in the uk but think it will be replacing my oven when I can finally get my hands on one!
It’s a great product ! Marc
Leaning towards the Combi. Does it get hot on the outside?
It’s not dangerous hot, but it definitely gets hot. Marc
@@TheAverageKitchen Thanks, Marc
I LOVE my Speedi and use it at least 3X/week. My Speedi also has A LOT of mileage (family of 3). One other thing: to avoid having to clean so much, you can always use foil on the bottom - and this will also help with drippings from the Speedi upper tray if you want to avoid that. Also: LOVE your videos! (From Atlanta, GA)
Thanks so much for that! - J
How hard is it to clean? I use my ninja foodi grill, and the top inside (where the element is) is nearly impossible to keep clean. Also, have you made bacon in them?
I'd say these are similar around the element to clean. Haven't tried bacon though! Thanks for watching. - J
Buy a second crisper tray for speedi it gives it much more options for meals. You can do starch on bottom, vegtables on next tray with legs folded in. Top tray meat with legs folded out. I bought speedi for Florida and combi for ny. Bjs wearhouse has clearance speedi $49
Not a bad idea at all! - J
Awesome review. I ordered the Ninja Combi. It would be great to see more recipes for that on your channel. Maybe even make a cooking book (also with metric measurements) for the combi.
Greetings from Germany.
Awesome comment. I’ll see what we can do ! Prost !! Marc
We have the Ninja Combi and love it. Here in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
Awesome! Thanks for the comment! - J
When I bought my XL oven they gave me a cheap tray that took forever to clean and was a pain so I had to buy their more expensive tray so that I had no more washing problems even with tough burnt issues. can you buy another tray that is a better no stick to it?
I’m sure there are aftermarket trays out there. Not sure how good they are mind you. Marc
Lifting the Speedi crisp tray. I find a fork inserted under that raised bit lets you lift it quite easy, with a bit of practice - even if loaded with food.
Great tip. Thanks. Marc
Use my Speedi alot..for Steaks, wedges, hot dogs, fish, pizza, gyro, shrimp, toast
It's great! - J
I say pasta the same way as you and I love both machines and Im from Quebec Canada
Haha awesome! Thanks! - J
Can you proof bread in either one?
Great question. I’d have to research.
Well- Just asked this very question in the Speedi 6 month review! AWESOME!!!
Glad we could help! - J
It's me from Denmark ;) I don't know if you remember I talked about buying a combi microwave oven instead of another airfryer, well I ended up with both.
I bought the Instant Vortex Slim-5,7 L, should be very quiet.
Which one do you like better? - J
@@TheAverageKitchen I like the airfryer best, the micro is fine for what it does, wont be without either. ☺
Haha fair enough! - J

Gawwwd, I'm still arguing with myself 😂
All the best to you and your loved ones, thank you for the great job you guys are doing, hugs and smiles from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀ Lisa

Can you cook a potato in the steamer part
Of course! Thanks for watching. - J

can you reheat anything on it like microwave?
@ absolutely. I just use the air fry setting and reheat left over pizza etc and it works really well

Why don't they sell the Ninja combi here in the UK...?🤔
Great question! - J

Where from please...?@@ellenshaw4030
I don't know I like my speedi way to much.. I cannot live without it. Also the other one combi doesn't exists in the EU at the time of me writing this message
Well that makes the decision easy! - J
That's why I keep checking amazon ever so often if the comi is out, yet. I've not been able to make up my mind so far but I sure will. Videos like this here really help to get a better idea of the "magic box" 🙋🏻♀
Do you think its a bad idea to buy it American power and use an adapter for Australia??
Help. 😂
I guess it comes down to which of those issues you mentioned are most important to you? - J
I think I would prefer the combination of just for the ease of cleaning!
Good point ! Marc
My question is, how hard is the combi to clean? What is that odd disc at the exterior top? Also where is the splash guard on the speedi?
Unfortunately they are never fun to deep clean, my suggestion would be to fully wipe it down after every use, to prevent build up. Marc
I don't like how the fat from the meat tray in the speedi drips into the contents below. I'd like a way to be able to prevent this.
Maybe use tin foil? But otherwise, probably look at the Combi instead. - J
No drippage with the combi ! Marc
I'll definitely be picking up a Combi. I've read so many good things about it. Great review, by the the way! USA NE Ohio
Awesome thanks !! I was just in Ohio last month, went to a bluejacket game. Columbus was a great city. Marc.
I have the combi and I love it
Great for cooking two things together ❤️ I'm in the High desert 🏜 Hesperia, California
Awesome !! Never been to Cali…. Def would like to go ! Marc
Thanks for the great comment! Maybe I'll check out that splash guard. - J
Thanks for the suggestion on the splash guard. It’s on Amazon USA and I’ve got it on order.
There are 2 large holes on all four sides of the speedi tray. Just put 2 forks in there or food tongs and lift out. Simples.

I need Jamie to give me cooking lessons with the Speedi - I cooked stew in it and burnt it all the way to hell and back, so now I'm a little leary to use the thing again. I guess I need to pull out my big girl pants and bite the bullet.

Just got speedi for £87 at amazon UK
Great price! - J
I own both. I’m from southern Arizona. Great machines and each has their own unique advantage.
Thanks for the comment! - J
Right off the bat, the COMBI would require alot more cleaning effort than the Speedi and that alone would be enough for me to choose the Speedi.
Fair enough! - J
These just make it that much easier. Cooking everything at once. - J
As a disabled person who loves to cook but can struggle with movement, being able to throw everything in at once, having it be at the right height (not needing to bend like I have to to use my regular oven), and it being overall faster with great results. Makes it a great option for someone like me
