Even without the smoke, it doesn't disappoint. There's over half a dozen reasons the smoke doesn't work, don't worry too much until the meds are done with. It looks superb.
Thanks for the honest response. We spend a lot of money on these engines so we want to make the best choice so we don't have to regret it later. Once again Thanks.
No problem and I agree totally. I've been quite critical of Bli in the past but they knocked it out the park with the detail & sound on this one. I'm confident the smoke issue is only a minor one too. Glad you found it useful. Ben.
Well, it lives up to its name. What a massive loco, and it is N! Superb pick up... great looker and nicely detailed. Hopefully the smoker sorts itself.
I hope you are feeling better. Thank you for sharing was thinking of getting this for Ray for Christmas. Thank you so much for sharing. We appreciate you and feel better soon dear friend 😊
Thanks Tammy, I appreciate your words. I'd been after a big boy for years so really pleased to finally have one that looks and runs as well as it does. Stay safe.
Thanks Tim. I agree, the level of detail & sound particularly in n scale has come on in leaps & bounds over the last few years but this engine is next level again imo, really pleased to finally have one.
I agree bud, n scale has come a long way in the last few years and this big boy is next level again for me. Bli have done an awesome job with it for sure.
Hello Ben, so sorry to hear about your accident i wish you a speedy recovery. Great video incrediblely impressive Locomotive the level of detail and sound wow! Hopefully the smoke issue sorts itself over time. Take care and rest mate.
Hi Ben, 10 inches in n gauge so 20 ins for me in OO gauge no wonder there is not one on my layout but looks right at home on yours and yes the detail they can do now on all scales is amazing is it not, when you get the smoke working should be something to see even more than in this well done for getting one will look out for more running of her. Get well soon and back on top. Cheers Robert.
Thank you Robert. It is a stunning looking engine for sure and has quickly become one of my favourites in the fleet, even with the smoke issue. I'm sure I'll get it sorted once I'm off the meds though. You're right too, I have a Rivarossi HO version of big boy and that comes in at just under 20inches!
Mine was acting that way at first but i blow on the smoke stacks after i put around 20 drops or so in each one then i hit f7 and it now smokes like mad . Apparently it gets air bubbles in the stacks and you gotta blow on the slacks to basically pop them lol
Yeah it is Mick but I'm not too disappointed because she is an absolute stunner and runs flawlessly. When I'm back in form, I'll get to the bottom of the smoke issue for sure.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did count out 60 drops really carefully as per the Bli recommendations but sadly to no avail. The unit is definitely heating up and there is some smoke present but nothing like other videos I've watched. I'll keep working on it though. Ben.
Thanks Pete. I agree, she is an absolute stunner & runs without fault. I'd been after one for ages so really happy to finally have one. Take care. Ben.
Hi, I just got the exact same engine delivered today and it runs great on the straight track but derails when going around curves. Have you had any derailment issues with yours?
Hi. Really sorry to hear that. I haven't had any issues with mine, other than the smoke unit. Which wheels are derailing?? I know of one issue someone had with the front pony truck not being able to move freely as the screw was a little tight..??
@@EagleCreekRailRoad Both sets of the four driver wheels would derail. I am using the Kato elevated concrete Unitrack with a minimum 381 mm radius. THe engine may not be compatible unless you know of anyone using this track.
I’m afraid I don’t no and am not really familiar with it myself either. I can only suggest checking the obvious by running it slowly over the affected area and seeing what might cause the wheels to lift.
So nice to hear someone pronouncing "Pipette" properly Also its great that Big Boy now can run without the diesel...

I agree bud, she's an absolute stunner and runs flawlessly. I'll figure it out when I'm finished with these horse tranquilisers for sure!!

Thanks AD. It is a stunning looking engine for sure and I'm positive I'll sort the smoke problem out once I'm off the horse tranquilisers!

Wow Ben what an awesome looking and sounding loco. Amazing what they can do these days. All the best.
Thanks Tim. I agree, the level of detail & sound particularly in n scale has come on in leaps & bounds over the last few years but this engine is next level again imo, really pleased to finally have one.
Thats a beauty Ben , she looks right at home on your layout .
Thanks Jerry mate, she's quickly become one one of my favourites for sure.

Even in N scale, it's still a BIG boy, lol. Get well soon my friend.
Thanks mate, appreciate it. It is a behemoth of an engine for sure, quickly become my favourite too.
Hello, I'm in the Andy stream right now, will connect later. Always interested in Big Boys...
No worries.
Great steam engine without the the smoke…all the other features make up for it
I totally agree, the detail and sounds are amazing so I'm really not too bugged about the smoke problem.
Good video thanks lee
Thanks Lee mate.
Nice big boy 😮😮
Thanks Dwight.
Bli recommends 60 drops of smoke fluid. Give that a try.

Thanks Pete. I agree, she is an absolute stunner & runs without fault. I'd been after one for ages so really happy to finally have one. Take care. Ben.

Your not having a lot of luck on the Big boys, still an impressive model all the same
Cheers Clive. The smoke issue is a pain but I'm still more than made up with it.
