Incredible! Just finished contracting for class of 236 yesterday. Quarantine helped me finally hit 23 pull-ups. It was much hotter then my previous PFT. My run suffered and could only crank out a 19:16 compared to my previous 17:52. I’m happy that I didn’t max out my run, cause now I’m that much more determined. 292/300, but I have time till the board to hit that 300. Looking forward to your workout. Will be posting this coming week! Thank you for opening up your resources to other candidates. Your videos are always incredible! A+

I was the oldest to graduate my company and go straight through to TBS, turned 32 a month after commissioning. Can't imagine doing it 10 years older.

BRO!! My plan in college was to become a commission officer in the Marine Corps.. I needed a medical waiver at the time and back in 09 when they were having cut backs I ended up losing a commission because they weren't approving waivers. Im in my 30s now and actually working in Law Enforcement!! I didn't even know 34 was the cut off... When I was in it was actually 28... I might consider this doing a reserve commission.
You shouldn’t advertise your lack of initiative if you want to become an officer of Marines. It doesn’t take much to research age waivers if that’s what you really wanted and not sure the rationale for letting everyone know how you let 6 years slip by without researching this. Good luck.....bro

Hello sir. Are there any tips to become a great leader or have great leadership? I’ve always been a quiet reserve person and somewhat shy but I am confident in leading and opening up. Another question is, do you think it would be a problem who had a speech impediment? I have one since I was 7 but it’s not that bad at all. Sorry for the long comment. Thank you and god bless!!!
Just finished the checklist and pre-ship pft Monday so this news was definitely a bit of a blow. I guess its just more time to ready myself.

Aside from deep selects from the November board. I would think the most recent board for 234 was competitive due to covid limiting the slots to have candidates maintain distance during training. It sucks for 234 but more time to train.
With talks about a draw down, don’t they usually make it harder to be career designated forcing higher ranks to stay in rather than preventing new Lts from coming in? Or they do both?

What were the PFTs looking like at the PLC 75% last week?
Hello Sir, I have a few questions about transitioning from enlisted to Officer. I’m currently a Corporal, and I have 80 college credit hours. I have zero desire in re enlisting. However i have a great amount of interest in gaining my Bachelors, and landing a Marine Corps Aviation (pilot) contract. I figured it would be easier to wholly complete my 4 year enlistment, get my DD214, and then try to get into OCS while a “civilian.” I run a 283/300 PFT/CFT respectively, shoot expert, and plan to use TA to get as close to finishing my bachelors while I’m still in. If I do not finish it while I’m in, I’ll hopefully have it done within a year of EASing (i will be 25 at that time). I’m not as interest in ECP as I do not want to re enlist, and I have too many college credit hours for MECEP. I’m currently studying for the ASTB. With your experience, do you recommend I continue with my plan as detailed above, or bite the bullet and attempt to get into the ECP. I have no interest in going Officer unless I am guaranteed a pilot contract. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Hi Hannah. If you are only interested in Aviation, then going OSO is your best bet. MECEP/ECP do not guarantee pilot slots. If you just wanted officer, then ECP is the route I'd recommend.
Having trouble trying to find that memorandum by the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, or even a Maradmin, reference the new age limit to go to OCS. Any chance we could get a memo or maradmin number/link?

Commission in the USMC but I was 34 and the recruiter told me I was too old. Commissioning next month in the Army at 37 as an Infantry Officer.
So at what age I can commission in the army? I'm 31 going enlisted and I want to have 2 years of experience then apply to OCS. Can I commission at age 34? I search and find out I have to have 34 in OCS so I can get commission but did that change? I have my bachelors degree. Do I need to get the 100gt score on asvab ass well?
Pro Music you can commission at 34, just get a 110 GT score and a decent ACFT score (550

Interview board? Is it from the OSO or the selection board?

The selection board is not a person to person interview. It is a paper board. The OSO prepares that for you. You can call me at 6193689965 and I can explain it in detail
Warriors Path I think she meant the interview review board which is part of the ECP application. They’re consisted of at least 1 field grade officer and company grade officers within their unit, who conducts an interview to see if the applicant is fit (physically, mentally, and intellectually) to become a Marine Officer.
How is the downsizing of the corps affect officer applications?
I have not seen the new Officer projections for next year. However, if the Marine Corps is downsizing, expect a decrease in officer mission.
Hey Capt. Dubon, how likely is it for waivers to be approved for experimental hard drug use several years ago? Is this something that is likely with an otherwise excellent application?
Very unlikely. Anything besides MJ will be near impossible despite having an otherwise record. Keep in mind you have to convince 1) The OSO "Captain" 2) District CO "Colonel" 3) Region CG "1 star general" and 4) MCRC CG "3 star general". All is takes is for one of them to say "Why did this kid do X drug?.. and you're done.
I have a question.
I was told that you need a BA of Science in order to qualify to be an officer and that a BA of Arts won't work and I was wondering if that was true?
That is not true for the Marine Corps. It might be true for the other services though.

I'm getting my degree online at Western Governors University, it's regionally accredited and I was wondering if this is as competitive as a traditional school is? since my degree will be obtained online will I be allowed to submit a package?
Bannaxe you will still be allowed. While maybe not as competitive as other schools, that Carries less weight than PFT, leadership, OSOs write up.

@@warriorspath9511 Sir, I plan on doing the 10 week OCS program over the summer of my junior year. Though I haven’t started college yet I want to prepare as much as I can. I have been reading that I can either take the ASVAB or substitute it with my SAT score. My SAT score meets qualifications 1040 (520 math 520 ela). In your opinion what would looked better to my admissions board using my SAT score or taking the ASVAB?

Warriors Path I’m out of shape right now but I’ll do this entire workout even if I have to go slow. I ain’t quitting. Ima keep doing it until its easy for me. Same goes for running, I’ve been doing soft sand runs and progressively running further and longer. Today I went soft sand running and I noticed how much further I could go without getting tired. I’m slowly progressing so four years from now I can make it through PLC. The only easy day is yesterday.
Is the aviation cut off age of 27 and a half still valid?
There has been no change for aviation.
@@warriorspath9511 With 4 years prior active duty service, can that be waived? I found a "USMC OCS Waiver Matrix" which states "34 IS THE MAXIMUM COMMISSIONING AGE BY LAW. SNA/SNFO EXCEPTION TO POLICY MUST BE APPROVED BY DEPUTY COMMANDANT FOR AVIATION" for "AGE GREATER THAN THAN THOSE LISTED ABOVE." Does that possibly override "AIR: 27 1/2 YEARS OR GREATER, BUT LESS THAN 29 YEARS AT DATE OF COMMISSIONING?"
I wish I had realized the grass is not always greener on the outside so much sooner...
