That's wonderful!!!! I kept the images of people who will really love the yarn in the back of my mind as I was going through it. Thank you for sharing! Warms my heart! ❤️🧶📦😊
I have to admit I almost had an anxiety attack when I saw you filling the bags with yarn! What a kind and generous thing to do by donating all those items. My subscribers make fun of me for all the yarn I buy. I guess it’s a comfort thing for me. Now that you are done cleaning your space, will you come help me clean mine? PLEASE! 🦋💖🦋💖
lol I have gotten a few comments on my yarn wall too in my backdrop @CraftySue but I love my studio I built and have lots of plans focused on using my stash for next year.
This was so satisfying to see I watched it twice! Well done, and great job, Elise. In your work it’s understandable how much yarn paraphernalia you accumulate. Kudos for keeping it circulating to those who can use it! Loved this. 💛🧶

I knit for a charity and I'm just finishing up 20 industrial garbage bags of yarn that I got from 3 ladies doing just this sort of thing. The homeless and women's refuge that I knit blankets for have been so grateful. Well done you for making that happen.
Nice job Elise! Lightening the load and refreshing our memory is something we all need to do from time to time. Thank you for allowing us to hangout with you while you worked!
I totally understand not wanting to get rid of things. I believe the more creative you are, the harder it is. You always think of what you could make out of things!!!
How wonderful that you found a place to share your supplies with. I used to work with a textile group that made all sorts of things for a shelter for domestic abuse survivors and their children. Such a wonderful way to share ❤
I laughed so hard when you talked about the post apocalyptic yarn shortage 😂 I don't have a stash like that, but if I did walk into a yarn hoarders house post apocalypse I think I might cry from joy at the sight of the yarn stash 😅
This is most likely my favorite video. I think so many of us can relate. As crafters and creative people we see potential in so many things. I gave away 8 full trash bags of fabric and 5 of yarn in our last move, it’s been a year now snd my heart still hurts a bit for the fabric mainly. I know truly though I will not have the time in many many years to use it all. Still somehow there was a a physical response to letting go of precious potential. 😊 I wish I could say it was rewarding and refreshing but truly it was just necessary.
I can relate. It's so hard to let go. I think if I had just donated these supplies to any charity it would have left me a little sad. But the organization I donated to is absolutely wonderful and they are doing great work so I think that's why it felt so good (after it was all done)! 😅
@@EliseRoseCrochet very true! Only about 2 bags of mine made it to a local charity. The rest of it ended up at Goodwill. Lady I was coordinating with and ended up having surgery and we had to move within the next day or two so I had to let go of it before I was able to get the rest to her.
Wow! Good for you! I have a neighbor who “donated” two very large black bags of yarn to me and I’ve been using it to crochet stuff for family members. So far I’ve done two blankets for grandkids and a very large market bag for myself. Now I’m working on another blanket for a grandson as a wedding gift. 🤗😊
Congratulations on acknowledging the “hoarding” part and for doing such a thorough sort/clean! I’m very proud of you. Also been thinking of you the past 36 hrs and praying the hurricane wasn’t too devastating for you. Blessings!
Thank you so much!!! ❤️ We were spared the worst of it but our neighbors two hours west have been devastated. The images coming out of the North Carolina mountains are gut wrenching. 🙏🏻❤️🧶
I feel you, girl! My ADHD doesn't make it any better... The worst thing is that I have way too much space for me and my husband to spread out and hide all the stuff that we might need again. 240m² (~2600ft²) of living space and an additional 65m² (~700ft²) of basement space for 2 people, 2 cats and a dog. And also a garden house, 2 garages full of stuff, etc Oh and good luck keeping it clean😂😘 Greetings from germany ❤
Impressive journey to clean out your yarn room! Wonderful that you donated everything to a good cause!!! Surely you will be an inspiration to many who find themselves in the same situation!!!!
Thank you for showing me I’m not the only one. Growing up in a poorer household, where we did keep everything, my house to this day is still full of stuff, just in case I need it some day. You have given me hope that it is doable, as well as making other people happy with the items I no longer need. 🥰
❤❤❤I'm not a crocheter (I was, as a kid/teen) but I'm a quilter/sewist/fabric hoarder. (I watch your videos because they bring me joy!) This video spoke to me in so many ways. Two years ago, I did the exact same purge of fabric that I had fallen out of love with. Much of it was expensive Civil War reproduction fabrics that were as I may have said, EXPENSIVE. I also had tons of WIPs, mostly quilt tops and blocks I'd made to make more tops. I wound up donating much of it, especially the quilt tops, blocks and repro fabric to Quilts of Valor and even more of it to local animal shelters, who have volunteers who sew cage pads, crate covers and blankies for the animals (animals are my biggest passion, especially CATS!! HI, MR. PICKLES!!) I felt good about myself, similar to how you felt, I think. And I do swear that although a lot of it had been hidden in closets, etc, this house DEFINITELY feels lighter!!❤❤❤
That is so wonderful!!! I'm so glad you love the kitty cats too! Both of mine are rescues and I hope to spread the love of cats through my channel. So many people don't like them and I just think if people realized how silly and wonderful they are they would adopt the kitties in shelters. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember one of your suggestions in a previous video of yours was to only buy yarn for current projects, not to buy it just to buy it. I’ve been trying to follow that advice. It usually works. I’m doing better! Great job on your reorganization! Thanks for sharing the process!
I heard Elise say that too and have been pretty good about it EXCEPT when I go to Remainders...its an all craft supplies thrift store and they can have some fantastic yarn bargains, causing me to lose my mind. Darn it.
Elise, I have to say that I’m quite proud of you by standing by your word and doing it. That probably took a lot of self control to not put any of it back. So, good for you 👍😀👍! I love the idea of donating or like one viewer said, making blankets for families in need. It’s so nice being a part of your channel where we can see others share their ideas that we can take. So, thanks for taking us along with you on this ride, and hello Mr. Pickles😊! In fact, as I’m watching you clean, I’m actually crocheting 🤭🤭. PS, your neighborhood, is so darling 😊!
I’m old and I have several hobbies. I knit, crochet, make quilted ornaments, purses. I used to quilt, but not anymore. So I’ve decided to do what you’re doing. Donate, keep and pitch. You’re doing a great job.
Ok, I am only 23 seconds into the video and I have to say, "I LOVE how real you are!" Thank you for being confident in simply being a human and sharing that with us. 😊
When you asked "Does anybody else feel like this?" I was like, ME!!!!! I'm trying to change my ways and let go as well (not only yarn, but all my creative stuff, lol) It's so hard when you love it so much and your passion is being creative, but when it starts crowding your mind as well as your space, that's when I try to start simplifying. Feels so good to hear someone else explaining my predicament 😂❤ I appreciate your encouragement and everything I've learned from your videos!!! 😊
Am glad you finally heard back from the organization you wanted to donate too. Your husband is a total gem helping you take out everything you wanted to donate and load into your vehicle. Have you thought of making some wearables for a local hospital (baby hats), nursing home for shawls/lap blankets or local cancer support organization? Any of these may be a good stash buster for the yarn.
You are not alone. I have supplies for all of my hobbies; crochet, embroidery, needle felting, basket weaving, quilling, sewing, diamond dot painting, drawing and painting. I really want to get it all organized. Sometimes I think I have too many hobbies, but I like to do different things at different times. I also love craft books. I hope you are safe and well after Hurricane Helene came through. Eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina got hit hard.
When I was moving/downsizing, the young man who was helping me pack was happy to take yarn for making funky, funny dolls. And I loved giving it to someone who valued it!
You've given me motivation to start my cleaning/ organization journey! When I give away my yarn, it helps to know that it will actually be used instead of just sitting in my bins. Congrats on your awesome accomplishment! ❤
I have to share this. When I first started quilting, my "craft" room was the ironing board in the hallway and the plastic picnic table that doubled as the dinner table. Now, my craft room has my bed, my treadmill and the internet router.
Right now everything is squirreled away to make room for our son who moved in (he is here to help with my husband who had chemo for brain cancer) so I finally organized all of my yarn into those 3-section hanging things from Target and lined them up on the bottom rod of our closet. Looks so cool! I did a ruthless purge, and filled 10 kitchen bags with yarn! For a garage sale I am going to put them out: $5 a bag. No peeking!
Knitting groups not only provide items for those in need, but they provide community and support for people who might otherwise be socially isolated. As someone on disability, i am very much dependent on donated yarn, some of which I buy from op shops (thrift stores) and some I get from "buy nothing" groups. What you are doing helps people more than you realise.
I absolutely love the little stash squirrel pin. I have a plain pennant of fabric that I DIYed to hold my pins in a way I can enjoy them as a decorative wall hanging.
In 2018 I had a health event that gave me a brain injury and therefore I could no longer work as an RN. Well thank god I horded my art supplies. In 2023 after learning how to crochet I decided to donate blankets and cuddle toys to the children’s hospital where my daughter works. I have a local professor here in town who donates all the yarn for it so everybody wins - The hospital - the kids - me and community member who Donates the yarn. You’re going to feel so good donating that yarn 😊
"What if you need it later?" - the same voice that I have in my head, you definitely aren't alone! Especially if it's something someone gifted me, I have a hard time parting with thoughtful gifts. Thanks for sharing this video, I have a three tiered cart that holds a lot of my craft and art supplies and it's, well, it needs a good re-do on the organization. Maybe I'll wheel it out and re-watch this video while going through it!
Thnx much for the link Elise, am in! Have a young crochet homeschooling student and she and I will really enjoy learning more together! Crochet is a wonderful skill for anyone to learn, it is for a lifetime. Even taught my own sons when they were young and they loved it.
I belong to a knitting & crochet group & we receive quite a bit of donated yarn & it is all used to make items & donate the items to local charities to either give away or sell to make funds for the charity. Well done you for sorting & donating 👏👏❤️❤️🇬🇧
Your crafting room was the best, but when you threw out a lot of things, it became even better because it was reminded of your inspiration❤ You are so amazing, because not everyone gives favorite things to charity🎉😊
Last year I donated a giant garbage bag full of yarn to local veterans and it felt good. Recently started cleaning out my office and it’s not easy. I’ve also itemized and inventoried every skein of yarn I have and put it into notion. It was long and tedious but great that now I have a digital searchable database of all of my yarn.
My craft is a mess, such a mess that I'm overwhelmed when I even think about organizing it. Yarn is not just in the craft room. There's a basket full in my bedroom, the living room, the den, and several in the garage. And then there's the junk journal supplies, the sewing supplies, the painting supplies, the cricut supplies, the jewelry making...I need help!
I completely understand that level of anxiety. I decided to stop looking for sales on yarn and to shop in my own stash. I don't go to yarn stores anymore, unless I need an additional skein for a project. There will always be another great sale out there, and I have enough yarn to last me the rest of my life! Baby steps. One bin at a time & categorizing REALLY helped me. You can do it!👍🤑🧶🤑🧶🤗
@@rhondalea4450 I have been on a binge where I A use all the toy patterns in some booklets I have and B use my stash yarn to make them. I am not buying any yarns at the moment either.
@@rhondalea4450 we have the same name. My Lee is this. My yahoo is spelled raundalee because I couldn’t get the traditional spelling. So funny how many of us are out there. lol lol
Hello Lovely Elise😊, Omg for a room that looked so pretty and quite organised, with a little bit of overflow. U pulled out so much yarn and other stuff ! 😮 That was a huge job to go thru everything. It must feel wonderful knowing where everything is and being so clean. And it looks even prettier and more organised than before😁💗. How wonderful of u to donate so much yarn and other stuff to what sounds like a fantastic charity. U r so inspiring💗. Hello to Mr Pickles and your helpful Hubby. Thank u for being real and sharing. It is very hard to get rid of stuff for lots of us. Love and prayers 💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🧶🧶🧶
So glad you found a charity to donate to. I knit for charity groups in Australia and we love getting unused or unwanted yarn. Save the group money and the environment. Plus we get to make so many wonderful items 👍
I relate to this so much. My mom is a hoarder and it's almost impossible for her to get rid of her old stuff but when she does I'm so proud of her. I struggle a bit myself and I have to tell myself that I'm making room for new things to come or that it's going to someone who needs it more than me.
Thank you for sharing! I know how hard it is to reveal these parts of ourselves. I struggle with these same issues and was talking back to the screen, "Me too!", LOL! I am originally from the Midwest, and it seems that a lot of us have this same struggle. You have inspired me to come clean, literally, lol again!
I just recently donated yarn to a local middle school who had a crochet club. In loved knowing young people were out there learning to do what i have loved doing since i learned at age 6
A few months ago, I filled 6 big bags full of good yarn and beautiful wool @ my stash. People had destached and gave a lot to me. I was overwhelmed, was never going to use it. No time to create. I donated to a PAWS shop in Chico, CA. They loved it!!!
I absolutely adore it when I see people recognizing when they have problems. Not just because we get some really juicy declutter content, but also because it's an opportunity for personal growth and maturity. It takes a lot of responsibility to acknowledge when something that you love has turned into a problem. It takes even greater maturity to do all you can to fix said problem. Kudos to you for not just brushing it under the metaphorical rug or finding more storage solutions for all your yarn as a lot tend to do. Keep up the growth, keep up the development, and you will go extremely far as a crafter and content creator.
PS: I tried to show my husband this video to show him how common this is, and he shielded his eyes and said he will need therapy😂😂😂 I then had him help me get started in our own problem room which houses my yarn hoard etc and for the last 4 years has been his office as he works from home. He moved a heavy item out of the way so I could access “The closet of good intentions” which houses nearly a full boutique of gifts people gave me which are brand new, never used, as well as excessive holiday gift bags, and craft supplies. Hopefully I can sit and sort through the closet hoard to make space for some new things to occupy that closet. Thanks for the inspiration of sharing your video.
I've been teaching my cousin and some of her children to crochet. She's on a very tight budget. She's asked if I have any yarn I don't want or need. So this has motivated me to do this next week to help her and her children have some to make projects. 👍
Well done, Elise!! I would've been the same way..."what if I need it and gave it away?" but to add to that..."what if I can't find it again??" ACK!!!! So happy that the organization got back to you and it was timely since it gave you the 3 days to get 'er done.
What a difference. I come from a family where rooms were cluttered, not like hoarders or anything like that, but just cluttered. So I throw things out regularly and my motto is, if I have not thought about something in 6 months it can go. I need a tidy and roomy space when I crochet, knit or sew otherwise my brain goes crazy. I am very proud of you.
Thank you for sharing this with us! As someone who was also raised in a home where keeping everything was normal, I felt this so deeply. It's very hard to let go sometimes and of some things, especially things we attach positive emotions to because it's an activity that brings us joy or comfort. You did a fantastic job! Be proud of yourself!
I've been doing declutter with Cas but have not done my craft room yet. When I saw your video I knew it was a sign! I'm still sitting on the floor overwhelmed lol. I have yarn and craft stuff in several areas and it's time to organize and let go. Thank you for the motivation! I hope to find someone who can use a great donation.❤
I understand completely. Everything you said, and did. It was like listening to my own thought processes and feeling those emotions, especially about your books. You did a great job!
I am in North Dakota and we have a small mission group that makes hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and more for the homeless and less fortunate. I certainly hope your charity contacts you. We work with donated yarn, because when you consider we crochet/knit approx 1500 beanies with mittens/gloves and scarves to go with them it is a blessing when people donate yarn to us!
They did get back to me and they took all the yarn and supplies! Made me so happy but they did ask if it was all my personal stash??? They couldn't believe one person would have that much! 🤣
Thank you for your honesty! I also have hoarding tendencies and am having to go through my own supplies and yarn to get rid of what i don't need. Thanks for the motivation!
Thank you for this video and sharing your feelings! I find it hard to get rid of things for many reasons. I am glad that I am not alone. My ex's sister gifted with yarn and I am grateful because I have used it instead of having to buy it. I in turn have given a duplicate crochet hook and some yarn that I promised I would donate to student that wanted to learn to crochet.😃 Your videos make my day. Thank for them.
OH MY! I went trough my yarn 2years ago but now I'm back to where I was then it is so hard to stop buying or getting rid of stuff I'm in the same spot as you, I have bins and bins of yarn I KNOW I AM NEVER GOING TO USE BUT.....Seeing you do it tells me I can do it too. I wish I could give to a place like you did ,there's no such thing where I LIVE. So cross your fingers I will be as brave as you. It is scary, but I will conquer the task and be Victorious.🙃
Thank you!! It was tough, especially right at the beginning. I felt completely overwhelmed and did NOT want to start. But now I'm so glad I did! 🧶❤️📦❤️
My heart sorta hurt when you did this! I'm sure the charity will be thrilled with the beautiful yarns you donated. Well done! (You're not alone. I have the same thoughts "what if I need it later?")
If anyone else has an excess of yarn and yarn supplies and no idea where to donate, a good place to call could be your local nursing home. The lovely people at the home I work at love getting donations, their faces light up like it's Christmas morning.
Yes; even just rolling into balls it’s therapeutic for our patients. I have excess fabric from during COVID I made masks for all my nurses and some patients. We couldn’t get elastic at first and I’m still hanging onto two rolls of elastic. The struggle is real. 😊
That is so generous to you to donate everything. I understand the feeling of dread when going through items, I totally have the same anxiety. But this video really helped solidify that I should do some purging and donating.
My mum received end-of-life care in hospital a few months ago and was given a crochet blanket during her stay, and I saw every other patient also had hand made blankets. I thought it was beautiful, and if/when I need to destash and have the ability to make some blankets, I'll be donating some to the hospital.
Can't blame you (or anyone) for hoarding. Yarn piles up so fast! I've started crocheting three months ago and I'm already neck-deep in crochet stuff! 🙋
I can feel overwhelmed by my yarn, and I have a small stash compard to so many. Even so, I don't enter any yarn giveaways because I get panicked at the thought of where I would put winnings. Great job on your craft room reorganization and the bountiful donation!
I think this is a common thing for us crafters😂 one of our LYS has an extra yarn wall that we can take our giveaway yarn to , or pick some up. Good job on a lovely craft room refresh☺️👍🏼
Do you forget what’s in those baskets? I did, so I made little tags and pinned them to the end using twine and little clothes pins from the dollar store.
Watching this while I work through my little stash of odd skeins, they're all being made into beanies and scarves to go to a local charity. I felt like I had lost my crojo lately, so working on quick and easy projects is keeping my spirits up 😊
I've been working on ami projects from a year ago to lessen my stash. Not sure what I will do with the results but it definitely takes up less room. I am right there with you. I struggle with hoarding too. My dad is a hoarder but way worse than I. By seeing his behavior it reminds me to let go of stuff when I am emotionally able to. 💖💖💖
Thank you for sharing this video with us. I love how real and honest you are about your situation with all the things that are hard to part with! I am constantly feeling guilty about the supplies for crafting and nail polish that I have purchased and then have donated. I wish that I could just learn my lesson but I just keep on trying to do better. I was also raised in a home that kept everything! We are definitely a product of our environment I believe.😉🧶💅🏻
I recently moved out of my old apt, and I'm waiting for my next place to be available for move in. In the packing process I had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of destroyed yarn. Between bugs and dogs so much stuff was trashed. I have the ability to take my time organizing everything I bring I. To the new place and that is so calming.
No one likes to go through and get rid of their stash, but sometimes its necessary. There are lots of other crafters who will take it and use it to do good. So, bravo to you, Elise! That was a HUGE undertaking and you conquered it like a champion!
Hi Elise! My husband and I recently downsized our home and I felt your struggle. I, too, ended up donating so much yarn and so many supplies to a local nursing home. It felt good to purge, but better to share with people I know will enjoy my spoils of over shopping. 😂 You did a great job!🤗🧶

All of your yarn donations are going to make lots of people so happy! And, just look at your beautiful organized craft room❤️
I remember one of your suggestions in a previous video of yours was to only buy yarn for current projects, not to buy it just to buy it. I’ve been trying to follow that advice. It usually works. I’m doing better! Great job on your reorganization! Thanks for sharing the process!
I should take my own advice!!!! 🤣📦❤️🧶
I heard Elise say that too and have been pretty good about it EXCEPT when I go to Remainders...its an all craft supplies thrift store and they can have some fantastic yarn bargains, causing me to lose my mind. Darn it.
@@peglamphier4745I hear ya.. that’s a real temptation!!
Great video! You accomplished a lot and it was so nice that you donated your items to a place that will use them.
It made me feel very happy that they wanted all the yarn and supplies! ❤️🧶📦😊
That mustard colored jumper you wear while contacting the charity really suits you. That color makes you glow.
I love how you keep it real with us. The highs and the lows. ❤
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Ok, I am only 23 seconds into the video and I have to say, "I LOVE how real you are!"
Thank you for being confident in simply being a human and sharing that with us.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing! 🧶❤️📦😊
Exactly! I knew this was the motivation I needed!! 🧶❤️📦😊
Thank you!! 🧶❤️📦😊
No peeking!
Yes we are with you. Everyone who declutters says Oh I might need this someday.
The struggle is real! 🧶🧶🧶
Thank you for being so generous with your belongings, and blessing others.
I absolutely love the little stash squirrel pin. I have a plain pennant of fabric that I DIYed to hold my pins in a way I can enjoy them as a decorative wall hanging.
It's sooo cute! 🐿️
Thank you!!! My craft room is now full of only the things I love and knowing that the yarn and supplies will be used makes me so happy!! 🧶❤️📦😊
That's so cool that you were able to donate so much to the charity! I'm sure all of it will be used and loved and so appreciated!
They were surprised that it was all from my own personal stash! 🤣📦❤️🧶
Recall the charity! Someone probably forgot. Lucky people who will receive the yarn and extra stuff.😊💖 Great job!
I finally got in touch with them and they took it all!! 🧶❤️📦😊
I totally get it! Have you ever watched The Clutter Bug UA-cam channel? She has great ideas for decluttering! I regularly watch her channel!! 🧶🧶🧶
You can do it!👍🤑🧶🤑🧶🤗
Same❤
@@rhondalea4450 I have been on a binge where I A use all the toy patterns in some booklets I have and B use my stash yarn to make them.
4:23 So PROUD of YOU!!!👏👍
Thank you!!!!! ☺️
Congratulations on your recent yarn reduction! It's a huge relief to let go of something I was never going to use.
So glad you found a charity to donate to. I knit for charity groups in Australia and we love getting unused or unwanted yarn. Save the group money and the environment. Plus we get to make so many wonderful items 👍
Yes!!! 🙌 I was so excited to donate to this organization!! They couldn't believe it was all my personal stash, lol! 😝
I relate to this so much. My mom is a hoarder and it's almost impossible for her to get rid of her old stuff but when she does I'm so proud of her. I struggle a bit myself and I have to tell myself that I'm making room for new things to come or that it's going to someone who needs it more than me.
Yes! My stepdad was a hoarder and seeing him struggle helps me to let things go but it's still difficult. I want to keep everything! 🤣
Haha!! Love the pun!! It really does feel so good to get it all cleaned out!! 🧶❤️📦😊
Awww! Thank you so much!! I really appreciate your kind words! 🧶❤️📦😊
I now feel so much better!!! I’m not alone in my guilt! Thank you, Elise!
LOL!! True Craft Room Confessions! I need to show my husband this to show him how common this is. ❤❤❤
Hahaha!!! It's definitely not just you!! 🤣📦❤️🧶
I recently got introduced to your channel by the UA-cam's algorithm and your videos are. so. GOOD!
Exactly!!! Now that it's done I don't miss any of it! Plus I'm thrilled to think about the people who will enjoy the supplies! 🧶❤️📦😊
@@EliseRoseCrochet You've definitely been a blessing for sure!!🥰
What a difference. I come from a family where rooms were cluttered, not like hoarders or anything like that, but just cluttered. So I throw things out regularly and my motto is, if I have not thought about something in 6 months it can go. I need a tidy and roomy space when I crochet, knit or sew otherwise my brain goes crazy. I am very proud of you.
Thank you so much!!! 🧶❤️📦☺️
Mr Pickle jumping into all the open baskets and shelves 💯 😻
He's so cute!! 🧶❤️🐈
@@EliseRoseCrochet so cute! I think they have a sixth sense that alerts them whenever a new cozy nook becomes available 🥰 🐈
I love the Clutter Bug!!!! She's amazing and a huge inspiration for me! You got this and you'll feel so good when it's done! 🧶❤️📦😊
You are so welcome! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so impressed by you, wow! Great job! Now I have to get started, maybe tomorrow 😂
You can do it!!! It feels great! 🧶📦❤️😊
Elise I'm so proud of you!!! I know that was tough to do in some ways!!!🌻🥰
Thank you!! It was tough, especially right at the beginning. I felt completely overwhelmed and did NOT want to start. But now I'm so glad I did! 🧶❤️📦❤️
that's wonderful they were able to make use of what you needed to clean out, so generous of you plus helps you get your crojo back 💜
I'm putting off going through my yarn. It's so cute seeing all the different colors.
My heart sorta hurt when you did this! I'm sure the charity will be thrilled with the beautiful yarns you donated. Well done! (You're not alone. I have the same thoughts "what if I need it later?")
It feels sooooo good to have it all gone through! I'm so glad I did it! (Now I just have to keep it up) 🤣
If anyone else has an excess of yarn and yarn supplies and no idea where to donate, a good place to call could be your local nursing home.
The donations are for the ppl living there or working there? Thank you
That is so generous to you to donate everything. I understand the feeling of dread when going through items, I totally have the same anxiety. But this video really helped solidify that I should do some purging and donating.
It feels so good to have it done! I think I have anxiety about making decisions and that causes me to feel paralyzed! 🧶❤️📦😊
Thank you for sharing, loved watching you clear up!
My mum received end-of-life care in hospital a few months ago and was given a crochet blanket during her stay, and I saw every other patient also had hand made blankets. I thought it was beautiful, and if/when I need to destash and have the ability to make some blankets, I'll be donating some to the hospital.
your craft room look beautiful with the yarn
Thank you so much! 🧶🧶🧶🧶
Can't blame you (or anyone) for hoarding. Yarn piles up so fast! I've started crocheting three months ago and I'm already neck-deep in crochet stuff! 🙋
Haha!!! It happens quickly!! 🧶❤️📦🤣
Now that's a great idea!!! 🧶🧶🧶
Do you forget what’s in those baskets? I did, so I made little tags and pinned them to the end using twine and little clothes pins from the dollar store.
Yes!!!! When it's out of sight it's out of mind! ❤️🧶📦😊
Watching this while I work through my little stash of odd skeins, they're all being made into beanies and scarves to go to a local charity. I felt like I had lost my crojo lately, so working on quick and easy projects is keeping my spirits up 😊
That's wonderful!!! Sounds like you have a good plan! 🧶🧶🧶
You did good and it was fun to watch! Its so great that you got to donate to that charity. ☺
Exactly!! There's so much guilt/regret/repeat going on in my brain! 🤣❤️🧶
I SOOOOOOO needed to see you this morning! Now I just need to make myself get started-thank you!!!
Getting started is the hardest part! I found that once I knew where I was going to donate the items I felt so much more motivation! ❤️🧶😊📦
Hi Elise, I think we can all relate to your clearing out emotions!!xxx
No one likes to go through and get rid of their stash, but sometimes its necessary. There are lots of other crafters who will take it and use it to do good. So, bravo to you, Elise! That was a HUGE undertaking and you conquered it like a champion!
Hi Elise! My husband and I recently downsized our home and I felt your struggle. I, too, ended up donating so much yarn and so many supplies to a local nursing home. It felt good to purge, but better to share with people I know will enjoy my spoils of over shopping. 😂 You did a great job!🤗🧶
Yes!!! Knowing all these supplies would go to a good home made me feel so happy! ❤️🧶🙌
