A lot of people seem to have found this video: update after winter: about 6 inches on the front and back is now exposed. The trim did shrink as expected but a little more than anticipated. Just beware as you install and maybe you can push more in or add some additional after it shrinks.

My black vinyl screw cover is secured on both ends by a screw. Maybe that is why mine has not shrunk like the one in the video did. I however, do have a slight leak that is coming from the area where my vinyl cover has split and is bowed. Hopefully, replacing the vinyl cover will correct that issue.
