Plant 2024 is a Go!

- It is an earlier than average start for us this year! For many crops like corn and soybeans it is too cold to plant them here, but for hard red spring wheat and sugar beets, they can handle it as long as we don't get too hard of a freeze!

We're a sugar beet farmin’ family in the Red River Valley of North Dakota!
Our farm specializes in growing sugar beets, hard red spring wheat, sunflowers, corn, soybeans, and various types of dry edible beans. The legacy currently consists of my dad, my uncle, my two older brothers, and I (Beet Farmin Mitch).
I am a 6th generation family farmer recently graduating with college degrees in both Agricultural Economics and Crop and Weed Sciences. Enjoy as I showcase our operations everyday work, grow as a young farmer, be a goofball, and walk out the most important thing to me. My love for King Jesus!
My hope is that you may be entertained and spurred on to grow in your passion and knowledge for all things agriculture!

Glad to see you at work. Keep rolling!
Our teacher lets us watch you in class I Really love your videos❤❤❤❤❤
That’s awesome! I know a few teachers that allow it! We appreciate them!!!
A high school classmate and a best friend all in the same video, that’s awesome, Jorge is a dang good worker you won’t be disappointed! Y’all have a good planting season and hope we get little bit more moisture in the ground for you boys🤙🏼
Thanks Jacob! That’s a very kind comment! Jorge is a great guy and we are very thankful to be working with him! He gets the job done properly and manages to have the right amount of fun while doing it!
I believe this is the first planting video for this year that I have seen. Good to see you Mitch, got to get Jenny out there sometime.
You always share great videos, and it makes my day when you post a new one! Love the flag on the air drill too! Thanks for all you and your family do 🙏
Nice job Mitch, stay safe and God Bless🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Love your videos brother. Always like planting season. Everything fresh and new-full of optimism of what the year will bring. Trees and flowers blooming birds singing. Could relate it to “new birth”. Take care of the family!🙂
Congratulations on planting!!! Looking forward to your successful season. 👍👍👍

Great video!
Nice video, planted some beans in the garden yesterday, trying quinoa to see how it does. Have a good week!
Love the videos and God bless you!!!
It's great to see you planting. Have you got beets in yet?
Yes about 1/4th!
I only ever had the green sour apple Warheads and yes they were much worse as a kid. Would give me a brain freeze almost. May explain why college was difficult for me to complete haha
And its snowing.. haha oh well.
I thought farmers kept all their data in the cloud these days.
There’s some software out there for stuff, AFS Connect by Case IH I think can do it but I’m certain how to and if there’s a problem I don’t want to lose the data lol.
Question young man, I’m always interested why operations have different configurations of equipment. So what is the thought of having duals on front and track rears?
Good question! We’ve had this halftrac case for a few years now and in the field the fear track definitely helps with traction and a smoother ride. It’s not so great on the road. We’ve had trouble aligning the tracks properly. Maybes it’s because they are skinny to accommodate our 22” row spacing.
The duals on the front are better than just a single tire for compactions especially on the air seeder. If it wasn’t a rowtrac I’d run triples in the back and duals on the front.
You need to call on skinny Jenny to fit into those tight places for repairs.
Would you consider videotaping the Pisek ND bike race on July 20th?
Lots of planters out there,,, what's great about yours vs john deere? cheaper of course am sure. Does it do as good a job? How do you know it's putting seed in ground?
In the Case IH vs JD airseeder I’m sure they are very comparable in terms of quality. I have been very happy with our Case airseeder. Nice stands and overall a well designed machine. I can seed 90 acres on a fill which is pretty crazy compared to the older style grain drills.
Amity is also a pretty common brand in our area.
As far as row planters, JD and Monosem are the top dogs in our area for sugar beets with Monosem probably being somewhat more popular than JD due to precision capabilities for small beet seeds.
