Grant, you have to change 1/2 of your closing wheels or the planter or will pull to the right or left. Put the right wheel forward on 6 and the left wheel forward on the other 6 same with intermeshing row cleaners. Make sure that they are 50/50 left/right leading wheels. Hope this helps
We also run row cruisers but they are aligned on centers. Get even closing pressure that way. Our local Precision dealer said to run the closing wheels centered but offset the row cleaners 6 and 6.
Running sprayers is tough since you are moving faster and have a lot more motion with the long booms. My first time running a little spray coupe, I sent a boom into the dirt. Broke 3 nozzles and a couple hose connections and that became my learning experience right there. Glad it wasn't anything too serious and that you had a patient helping hand!
Grant love the videos keep great contact content It is going to be interesting to see how well the crops grow on your new land that you got hopefully, you have a great crop season this year.
Hopefully all is well for you guys after the tornadoes in Iowa.We had some in Nebraska we haven’t really done anything with corn yet either. Love the videos up 👍
borrow your brothers camera. So technically he can be with you on the first day of planting How incredible and thoughtful. This season of hilbert farms is going to be incredible. Omg
You know what would be awesome? I’d like to watch you go turkey hunting. Don’t know if you do any but that would be awesome. Love the vids man keep them going:)
Definitely worth reading a bit into mixing orders for chemicals, particularly glyphosate when used in conjunction with 24D - It's recommended not to add glyphosate until the very very last moment of filling the tank. Hard to tell with the cut, but it looks like your adjuvants and chemicals were poured into the hopper directly on top of each other? This is an absolute no no and will definitely lead to a less effective brew.
Do you still have some ground near your machine shed you just sold? Or is everything sold and transferred over? How many acres are you planting this year compared to last year?
If your row cleaners are all staggered to the left it will pull the planter to that direction when they are aggressive… they need to be driving towards the center…
Sometimes they pull a certain direction if your hydraulic hoses have different amounts of pressure so one side may be getting pushed down harder than the other
My grand kids say that you need to shave, they say beards are for winter not summer, I'm neutral on this one , but I can say yor channel is great 😊😊😊😊😊
Love the videos grant i like watching you advanceing in your farm great job i hope it all keeps working for you guys 👍 just curious do you have any thoughts on your next tractor like maybe a 4755 😂
Hey grant I jsut typed a comment I jsut want to say thank you I’ve been watching you for a very long time and you got me through a lot so thank you grant
Hey Grant, I was wondering how your yield is planting soybeans on 30 inch rows. Do you think 15 inch rows would have any advantage in your area? We currently still drill, but looking at going to a split row planter.
Hey grant, what are you thinking on getting for another tractor? Do you have one set out or do you want us to make suggestions? If so, I would say Get somewhere around a 7830 and a 8330, but the thing is I don’t know your budget
Between Spencer and I we have 270 Acres. One farm is about 90 miles away so I'm having it Custom Farmed this year until it sells and I can trade it for land closer.
What amazes me is all the chemicals the farmers spray to kill the weeds but there's always weeds you would think the weeds would be gone after years and years of spraying for weeds
Would like to say is nice to see veteran farmers helping new farmers
Def!! Helpful to be around people who know what they're doing!
Mark is a pretty awesome neighbor.
O yea
It's a blessing you have good neighbors

We do that with our row cleaners but never our closing wheels
@strandedkansan8367 we do it because we run spiked copperhead closing wheels, they create more drag than a traditional round rubber
We also run row cruisers but they are aligned on centers. Get even closing pressure that way. Our local Precision dealer said to run the closing wheels centered but offset the row cleaners 6 and 6.
The one thing I know about farming is you are a mechanic who occasionally does some planting and harvesting 😂
So glad to see your spring video I hope you have a fantastic planning season Be safe Take your time
It's great to see you learning and teaching us through this process.😄
Looks like you have an awesome helpful neighbor! Always good to have someone for advice
Watching your small farming operation reminds me of the farming I grew up around and is a part of today look forward to seeing you grow your operation
It was very informative and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for all your hard work.👌✌👍
Great video -I really appreciate the way you show the good and the bad very informative-thank you and work on young man.

I love planting videos!
Keep up the great work Grant
Add a couple of those gauge wheels at your last knuckle. It saves me on hilly ground.
Grant love the videos keep great contact content It is going to be interesting to see how well the crops grow on your new land that you got hopefully, you have a great crop season this year.
Hey grant can you make a map of all your land cause it is quite confusing where it is
This is something I probably should do to explain a bit better!
@@granthilbert5632 and maybe add it also In kilometers like when editing for the European watcher love your content btw
@@WillemTerhorst-x4qthat would be cool but would be a bit of a hassle
Make an fs map too 😜
That would be a pretty good map for 22 but it would get confuseing sometimes and plus you would need a good creater to make it, but that would be cool
one of the few channels i click on instantly when a new video comes out 👍
I appreciate it!
Gosh, I love how your farm has grown over the years. Keep up the good work, man. ❤
Love Mark's barn, that cupola is amazing!
If the left cylinder is threaded (can't see it),you maybe able to adjust it for length.
Its nice you have good people to help you out!
Hopefully all is well for you guys after the tornadoes in Iowa.We had some in Nebraska we haven’t really done anything with corn yet either. Love the videos up 👍
So entertaining to watch. Been watching you guys for a long time. Be cool to come down by you guys one time
Great video enjoy watching keep up the hard work
Grant you are inspiring me to start farming and helping me know what to do thanks!
I am sure you can't wait to your brother getting leg healthy again. May his rehab go well.
He’s a tough goat. He will be back in shape in no time.
I love your videos Grant
If your closing wheels are all offset the same direction in can cause drift
Normally left half is offset opposite to the right half
Add a narrow ring around the cylinder rod to prevent it from retracting all the way and lifting the boom over the cradle
You and millennial farmer are the two channels I always watch and enjoy keep it up grant 👍
borrow your brothers camera. So technically he can be with you on the first day of planting How incredible and thoughtful. This season of hilbert farms is going to be incredible. Omg
You're almost an expert now. Good luck this season!

Love the vids man!!!
again, as always I love your videos! In case you buy another tractor, which one would you get´?thank you!
Hi grant love the content I was wondering if u have ever looked into splitter planters so u don’t have to plant your beans on 30 inch rows?
just like farming simulator.... Best of luck this season
I AM HERE, HI GRANT, MY NAMES GRANT TOO!!!!!!
Weld a little taller bracket on the left side, then paint it
can'y wait for your next video to come out
If your row cleaners are all staggered to the left it will pull the planter to that direction when they are aggressive… they need to be driving towards the center…
what kind of tractor are you thinking to get for next year?
What part of Iowa do you live in
You should get a John Deere 7810 front wheel assist tractor one of the best tractors John Deere ever made
Sometimes they pull a certain direction if your hydraulic hoses have different amounts of pressure so one side may be getting pushed down harder than the other
what were you guys spraying to kill the weeds
My grand kids say that you need to shave, they say beards are for winter not summer, I'm neutral on this one , but I can say yor channel is great 😊😊😊😊😊
What camera away?
Our 1760 was doing the same thing this spring!
Love the videos grant i like watching you advanceing in your farm great job i hope it all keeps working for you guys 👍 just curious do you have any thoughts on your next tractor like maybe a 4755 😂
You could get a 8020 or 8030 series. Loved the vid!
Hey grant I jsut typed a comment I jsut want to say thank you I’ve been watching you for a very long time and you got me through a lot so thank you grant
Love and channel . Like the rock joke!
Tractor rules
#1 rule stay safe
#2 rule - have a ton of shear Bolts/ pins in your toolbox
Grant Hilbert, more like G.o.a.t Hilbert! (Also good video 👍)
You guys should make a farming simulator map of your fields.
Do a video of your new farm and a a farm tour
Here in the netherlands farming is very different
Nice video your next tractor needs to be a 4440 or 4640
The next time you pick up a new farm could you make a video showing how you map your gps? I’ve always wondered how that is accomplished.
You're keeping the 8110 right?
Hey Grant, I was wondering how your yield is planting soybeans on 30 inch rows. Do you think 15 inch rows would have any advantage in your area? We currently still drill, but looking at going to a split row planter.
How much rain have you guys had recently. Up in eastern Nebraska we have had 4 inches
I found you through an Achieve 3000 article out of all places
Hey grant 2 things when you will be able to get them get front duals for 8110 and get a 7810 with front loader
I’d love it if you and Spencer would make a map mod for all consoles and pc to play on fs22. Great video Grant.
What brand of GPS do you use in the 8110
How is the weather where you at because in Minnesota we can’t plant because of the rain
Do you run precision planting by any chance?
Great farmer 👍
Zabardast
What kind of tractor will you get nut
My dad uses his row cleaners that aggressive too
Just curious do the tail lights work on both the tractor and the planter
❤❤VIDEOS ❤❤
On one of your videos you have been pulled over in my home town
What was he putting on the seeds when you filled it
if there was a map like this on farm sim other than umrv it would be so good
U should get a 8400 tractor for the tile plow
Just a question when are you planning on building a pole barn where you are now?
Brant what is the tractor to buy for starting farming
Hey random question for you! What microphone do you use on your camera?
How old are you and Spencer
Hey grant, what are you thinking on getting for another tractor? Do you have one set out or do you want us to make suggestions? If so, I would say Get somewhere around a 7830 and a 8330, but the thing is I don’t know your budget
Why is no till better than tilling grant?
Conserves moisture and less weed seed germination
Go buy a little 6r or 7800 for the sprayer
Hey Grant how many total acres do you have?
Between Spencer and I we have 270 Acres. One farm is about 90 miles away so I'm having it Custom Farmed this year until it sells and I can trade it for land closer.
Why no more videos?
What amazes me is all the chemicals the farmers spray to kill the weeds but there's always weeds you would think the weeds would be gone after years and years of spraying for weeds
I think why it pulling is because the tongue is loose and the left is going deeper than the right side
Do think a 8310 or something like that would Be a great buy
Was hoping for something bigger possibly. An 8310 would work great just need a lil more weight for a tile plow.
@granthilbert5632 could go with 8410 maybe
@@Blackwellll3066 literally the same tractor with a little bit more horsepower. He's gonna need a 4wd
@thomasbritten7216 yea but 8410 great tractor is they going to buy one....a 4wd tractor nice to have I could see them buying a 8640
@@Blackwellll3066 stick to farm sim videos
How are you and spencer?
For the next tractor, can it be red
What’s name of your farm simulator game
