A scene from the 1980 film "The Jazz Singer." Interesting story about the son of a Jewish Cantor who defies the traditions of his religious father in order to pursue his dream of being a popular singer.
I worked for Neil's publishing co in the 80's. Very nice man. The context of this song is fabulous how his father was so mad at him in the movie for not doing different music....he did his thing & finally his Dad was proud.
You two always make me smile. You are a beautiful couple. ❤️ 💙
Please watch the movie The Jazz Singer. Several songs from that movie. Like this one.

YES!!! God Bless America❤
LOVE this song!!! I remember when I was little therexwas a show that would melt crayons and say America was like that, a big melting pot of colors and that made us strong!!! I was maybe 5 or 6. I always believed that and I still do!!! I LOVE AMERICA and WE SHOULD NEVER CHANGE!!!! ❤❤🇺🇸 🇺🇲 🌎
This song was used at the end of the 1988 movie Born in East L.A. starring Cheech Marin. It's a hilarous comedy but unfortunately you can't find it anywhere! I haven't seen the movie since 1988 and I've been trying to find it.
It was also used in the movie it came from, and this was the final scene. The Jazz Singer.
Neil Diamond must block everything, because nobody reacts to him really, and he is awesome.
I think a lot of young people just don't know about him.
@@jillk368 Sure but old people are making all these recommendations.
Happy 4th of July to the red White and blue baby. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏻💪🏻🎉🎉
Love love your reaction!
Because we are a nation of immigrants, and anyone who shares our values is welcome.
As long as they come here legally.

MAN, I wish you would have reviewed the studio version. The symphony is so crisp and demanding that I MUST stop whatever I'm doing to sit down and just listen. Just a beautiful, beautiful song. My whole life, I thought this. Then, I married a Colombian immigrant. His mom came to America when he was 4 years old. His dad and 4 other siblings had to wait in Colombia for their mom to get all the paperwork and legalities all ready for them. She was gone a year. So, he and his entire family immigrated here when he was 5. He says he remembers crying for weeks. His mom would walk him around in the town they moved to in NJ. He wouldn't stop crying, so upset was he that he could not see the ocean and there were no palm trees. Everyone talked funny. Few months later, he got thrown into Catholic school, speaking not one word of English. It was hugely scary and confusing for him. For his older siblings, it was terrifying. Now, I listen to this song and see his little pudge face when he was 5 on that great big airplane, the symphony soars, and I cry. EVERY fucking time, I cry. Thank you, America, for LEGALLY accepting the love of my life. We are a better country for it.
I really like you guys!!
Your explosions are too loud for my headphones !
I first heard this song as part of a fireworks display, on 4th of July, in 1985. It was amazing! Top 5 song for me.
