3:20 That is Lucie Arnez (daughter of Lucille Ball). She is sitting next to Sir Laurence Olivier. Lucie played his wife and Laurence played his father in the movie "The Jazz Singer." The movie is more a showcase of Neil's music than anything else. Neil's a so-so actor but the music scenes more than make up for that.
I believe Lucie played his manager. His character was married to a devout Jewish woman, and he wound up falling for Lucie's character when his wife would not support his musical dream.
Yes 🙌🏽 Neil Diamond ❤️I saw him a couple times in concert. He’s so talented! React to his movie, The Jazz Singer 💕 also, some other great songs, Brother Loves Traveling Salvation Show, Soolaimon, Sweet Caroline, Forever in blue jeans, Holly Holy, Cherry Cherry, Shilo, Thank the Lord for the nighttime, etc. Can’t go wrong with Neil Diamond. He really knows how to work a crowd! I love Neil Diamond. Check out "you don't bring me flowers." It's absolutely beautifully sung by Neil & Barbara Streisand!!!! You will MELT listening to it.
In the audience are Sir Laurence Olivier, a very famous actor, who played Neil’s father, and the lady is Lucy Arnez, who is the daughter of Lucille Ball, the famous comedian, in The Jazz Singer. Apparently the critics didn’t like the movie and made fun of Neil Diamond’s acting, even though Neil wrote ALL the songs in the movie. He had been screen tested to play Lenny Bruce and became terrified of doing it, and dropped out. I think that was a turning point and time of great confusion for him, and when he wrote “I am I said.” Love this man to pieces.💕His live concerts are legendary and most of the band members and all of his backup singers were with him for over 30 years. He is such a good and humble man, now fighting Parkinson’s disease.
Always sold out arenas..three hours of Heaven..no opening acts..no intermission! I don’t think I ever sat at a Neil Diamond concert…”can’t stand still while the music is playing!”🔥❤️💎

Other songs that you should listen to would be "Solitary Man", "Cherry, Cherry", "Song Sung Blue", "Cracklin' Rose", "Love On The Rocks" and "Heartlight". There so many others but these will give you a variety of his songs.

One of my favorite Neil Diamond songs. My great-grandparents were the children of immigrants, and we were fortunate to grow up across the street from them and to hear their stories about their immigrant parents. That always made me feel closer to them and to all the immigrants this song represents.
@@gloriamureau9542 You're not wrong. Even when my great-great grandparents came here, you were only really welcome if you came from certain countries (predominantly Protestant western European countries). Everyone else was treated as second-class or worse even then, and it's much worse now.

I can die at any time without regrets because I got to see Neil Diamond live! Hands down one of my favorite performers. Saving Silverman is such a ridiculous movie but at the end when he performs Holly Holy with the actors of the movie showcases how he can move a crowd.
YAY!!!! perfect choice for today!! This is from the movie " The Jazz Singer" a good choice for your movie channel. The two actors that were shown in the audience are Lucy Arnaz, and Laurence Olivier , who is one of the greatest actors ever. Olivier played Neil's father and I believe Lucy was either the wife or girlfriend. If you watch the shots of the father closely you can see that he is skeptical at first of his sons ability ,and as he sees the crowd respond he joins in.
Neil Diamond is so great. He was my dad’s favorite artist. Hard for me to listen to him without thinking of my dad. He’s got a lot of great songs to check out. Songs like Sweet Caroline, I am I said, Cherry Cherry, Make you feel my love, If I don’t see you again are just a few of his great songs. Happy 4th!!! This clip is from the movie The Jazz Singer, my mom's favorite movie. Yesss!!! Please react to the movie “The Jazz Singer!” Love y’all’s reactions!! 🇺🇸
Neil Diamond's LP 'Hot August Night' was a top selling album. 1970's
Don't forget Lucie's dad, band leader and singer, Desi Arnez. "BA BA LOO!" 😊
@@DianaJG8 Let's ba ba loo lucy!!
I believe Lucie played his manager. His character was married to a devout Jewish woman, and he wound up falling for Lucie's character when his wife would not support his musical dream.
Great movie.
☮️
@@IBGECKO I didn't want to give away too much of the story in case someone had not seen it. Thanks for the spoiler.
A genius song writer.
I think this a beautiful and uplifting song. 💕
Freedom’s light burning warm ….Neil is referring to the Statue of Liberty!
Even though it is over the top I still love the song and Neil’s showmanship.
Even though I am a huge fan of HARD Rock and Metal. Neil Diamond is truly an American treasure. 😁👍
This is part of the great movie "The jazz singer" with neil diamond
All the music from this movie The Jazz Singer is awesome!
Gotta hear this song every fourth! Thank you!
This is from the film The Jazz Singer all the songs are great
Yes 🙌🏽 Neil Diamond ❤️I saw him a couple times in concert.
This song is such a beautiful song! 💕thank you for reacting to it ❤️
I echo "Brother Love's..." it is a real rocker!
This is from the movie Jazz Singer. You need to watch it. Very interesting story line
I was fortunate enough to see Neil in concert years ago and his performance and choice of songs was fantastic.
The "move" you describe was the official poster for The Jazz Singer.
Neil wrote this song for his grandmother who came to this country by boat when she was eleven! He sang this at every concert I’ve been to!
He really knows how to work a crowd! I love Neil Diamond. Check out "you don't bring me flowers." It's absolutely beautifully sung by Neil & Barbara Streisand!!!! You will MELT listening to it.
This songs always gives me chills. Such a beautiful and powerful song.
Neil has performed this song on Ellis Island and at the White House on two separate Fourth of Julys!
Happy 4th Jay and Amber and Everyone. Neil Diamond has so many great songs to choose from. Of course there is "Sweet Caroline" everyone's first pick. Other songs that you should listen to would be "Solitary Man", "Cherry, Cherry", "Song Sung Blue", "Cracklin' Rose", "Love On The Rocks" and "Heartlight". There so many others but these will give you a variety of his songs.
Love love this song! Makes me cry every time.
Sweet! And so are his other songs like “Sweet Caroline” and “Kentucky Woman”
Check out Neil Diamond's "love on the rocks"
I was privileged enough to see him in concert twice in the 80’s. His entire show was hit song after hit song. He’s a treasure.
This song was from the movie The Jazz Singer. It was Al Jolson's trimph moment. So movingThe woman was his gentile wife next to his very Kosher Rabi father who Finally heard his son perform and loved it.
Not many entertainers are honored with a biographical play about them before their passing. Beautiful Noise is now on Broadway. Went to Boston to see this okay. He is sooo deserving and humble! So good..so good..so good!🔥❤️💎
Hope you had a great 4th!!... Love Love Love Neil Diamond!!
One of my favorite Neil Diamond songs. My great-grandparents were the children of immigrants, and we were fortunate to grow up across the street from them and to hear their stories about their immigrant parents. That always made me feel closer to them and to all the immigrants this song represents.
My nana came to Canada in the middle of WWI wearing her life jacket the whole trip. My father came in the 50’s after WWII from England.
America. Has. Changed. Since. This. Great. Song. NOW. NOONE. WELCOMED
@@gloriamureau9542 You're not wrong. Even when my great-great grandparents came here, you were only really welcome if you came from certain countries (predominantly Protestant western European countries). Everyone else was treated as second-class or worse even then, and it's much worse now.
Neil has performed this song on Ellis Island and on the lawn of the White House. He s ahhhhmazing!🔥❤️💎
Not just our ancestors. It is still true to this day! Such an anthem!!! I'm proud to say my parents brought us here in 1975 to find their hope and dreams!
Happy 4th, hope you stay safe. Niel Diamond, has a catalog that's hugw. Brother Love, is a heater. Thanks guys.
He also does great Christmas songs that he got permission from his grandma to do since he was Jewish and didn’t celebrate Christmas. Shows the kind of man he is. Respected his grandma so much.
Another great one…Sweet Caroline….was requested to be sung at the Queens Silver Jubilee
"America" is a great song choice for July 4th. One of Neil Diamond's greatest songs. Thank you for an uplifting reaction.
Love on the Rocks,Beautiful Noise,The Grass Won’t Pay No Mind,Brother Love Traveling Salvation Show,Forever in Blue Jeans,Elijah’s Song( he wrote that for his son),soooo much more!
Neil has one of those timeless voices and makes singing flawlessly seem effortless...what an icon...👍👍
You did it, I'm so happy!!!!!! Thank you, you're the best ❤️🎶🎵!!
Have seen Neil in concert every time he came to Chicago. As we sat waiting for the concert to start, two ladies came and sat behind us. They said I hope no one stands or we won’t be able to see. My niece and I just smiled! Have never sat at a Neil Diamond concert. Can’t stand still while the music is playin’. Three hours of pure Heaveb!🔥❤️💎
Just returned from Boston to see the play,Beautiful Noise…the play about his life story. A very introverted man who came alive on stage. He is amazing! React to Beautiful Noise,Glory Road,Hell Yeah,Love on the Rocks,Morningside,SolitaryMan,Forever in Blue Jeans….soooo many. Thank you for reacting to the best!🔥❤️💎
Happy 4th of July Jay and Amber, and to your kiddos too! May you all have a fun, safe holiday! 🇺🇲❤️🤍💙
Neil Diamond says this is his song he is most proud of
I absolutely love Neal Diamond. His voice and delivery is perfection. He's so smooth. ❤
This is from the 1980 film The Jazz Singer with Neil Diamknd and Lucy Arnez, a beautiful remake of the 1927 film starring Al Jolson; my favourite song from the movie is the love song Hello Again, you need to watch the movie together(not as a reaction but personally).
If you would like to do it as a reaction, that would be even better.
I don’t think I ever sat down at a Neil Diamond concert. Can’t sit still while the music is playin’!🔥❤️💎
Seen him in 1988...My feet Never Touched the Floor.
Andy Butt NEVER Touched the Seat.
From his movie The Jazz Singer! I get chills from many of his songs! He has such a beautiful strong voice.
Older gentleman in audience is Sir Lawrence Olivier…who played Neil’s Dad in the Jazz Singer. Young lady next to him is Lucie Arnaz who played the woman who encouraged him to follow his dream. Neil’s father player a Jewish cantor and wanted Neil to follow in his footsteps! This was the first time seeing him perform.
Happy 4th y'all! Oh yeah! Love his music.✌❤🎶
You know the song is going to be great when his vocals are backed by a full orchestra!
I loved The Jazz Singer! This song gives me goosebumps. I was lucky to see him live and it seemed there was only Neil & I in the stadium. Fabulous showman with the greatest shirts in town!
My mom drug me to a concert of his in the 90's... glad I went.. turns out.. it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen.. Performer.. Showman.. and the Audience participated the entire time.. God Bless And Happy 4th... Semper Fi
I love Neil Diamond so much, tbh mostly because it's my mom's favorite singer of all time, so I grew up listening to him and now every time I do it immediately reminds me of my mom. Too many great songs to choose from, he's just that good!!
40 years ago I got to see Neil Diamond and this concert are one just like it it was so exciting every time he saying today he'd throw down a bomb and fireworks would go off today and fireworks would go up it was so cool
Love Neil Diamond! Such a great performer he always puts on a fantastic show. This was a clip of a concert performance that he did in the movie The Jazz Singer. The dark haired lady they kept showing was his wife in the movie the actress Lucy Arnaz(daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz). Neil wrote all the music for the movie.
Lucie Arnaz
Neil Diamond is such a legend! Please listen to one of my favorites by him, Forever in Blue Jeans.
Loves that he refers to the Statue of Liberty as Freedoms’ light burning warm….he is such an amazing songwriter as well as fantastic singer…always tells a story…beautifully!🔥❤️💎
I would like you to listen to "Dry your eyes". Neil Diamond only performed it once, at the goodbye concert of The Band.
Happy 4th!!! This clip is from the movie The Jazz Singer, my mom's favorite movie. Neil played the son of a Jewish Cantor who had to defy the traditions of his religious father in order to pursue his dream of being a popular singer. Also, the girl in the audience that played his love interest was played by Lucie Arnaz, also known as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's daughter.
As crazy as this country gets somtimes its still the best country on earth. God Bless the USA!!
This song serves to remind us that no matter how bad we think things are here, people outside this country almost universally would live here in a minute. And it takes Neil Diamond to point this out…
Love the lyric…he refers to the Statue of Liberty as Freedom’s light burning warm .🔥❤️💎
He wrote this song in honor of his Grandmother who was an immigrant. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
He’s been a favorite of mine all my life and I especially love this song and the movie
I loved listening to this song back in the day. The radio station used to play it on the 4th
