Your input-specific breakdown wasn't really necessary for this glitch, as this is not a timing-heavy or blind maneuvering glitch, but still good to know! The annotations to jump to a specific part of the video is brilliant. Overall, this is a good video explaining the broken dagger glitch in Dark Cloud. Good job!
quick side note those weapon "abilities" that the broken dagger gives you when you put it on a weapon, yeah they dont work at all. ive played this game for years on emulation and on ps2 and the abilities are just there visually, nothing actually takes effect, like the "stop" ability for example. oh and last quick note never use more then 1 broken dagger per character, as it can glitch the fuck out of your game and corrupt it.
when i do this glitch i can end up with two different broken daggers one of which gives me three powerups and the other giving me five, but it doesn't show that i can build up the weapon and all the levels go backwards off the screen.
@@abdurrehmanshafiq5150 don't know if it helps after 2 years but I've had the same problem. It's because you probably have the PAL version of the game (Europe) just like me. But it works when you proceed a little different!: A first the Game HAS TO BE IN ENGLISH!! Otherwise it doesn't work!! Equip dagger as shown. But now don't go to the attachments but to the weapons when you're talking with Gaffer (press just 1 time R1), but make sure to go all the way down in the weapon slots to the farest down on the left and go to the buying side now. There you DO NOT go on the Ice but to the empty slot the farest down and the farest right place! So under the ice all the way down to the last empty slot. Now press right crosspad and X as shown in the video. Now you should have a working broken dagger on the PAL version. When repeating make sure to press equip on the broken dagger again to be able to restart the glitch, otherwise it won't work. Hope I could help the people having the same problem. It was quite a drag to find out how it works for this version.
Other important thing! You can switch to your other language (at least it worked with german, not promising it works for every other language) after that but the broken dagger might be not visible now. It's invisible BUT its still there! You can grab the invisible item and put it in your weapon the stats will still be working! Just make sure to not forget where you put your broken daggers. I like to keep 1 "normal" attachment in my inventory and then organize with square. It will show where the daggers are when the attachment is sorted down. There will be empty slot before the normal attachments, thats where the daggers are. BUT please try if the daggers work BEFORE saving the game and changing language. If you made a mistake and save a glitch in your inventory you might not be able to throw it away or sell it, so it will eat up one slot in your inventory permanently. If that happens restart the game without saving so you have your primary saved game wich is "working" normally.
Thank you for explaining why Gaffer's inventory in my game wasn't as full as everyone else's. Other commentaries neglect to mention this.

It breaks my sword instantly and doesn't increase the stats it breaks than is that normal?
If you put more than one on it will break any weapon

Fearsome Jinn exactly the same with me I don’t know what to do like I have the daggers but it’s just backwards and some forwards off the screen

No. All i get is a black square that does nothing and takes up space and cant even be tossed or sold
