Hi Steve, and thank you so very much for making this video for us to see. I have been to the outside this Villa a number of times in my visits to Malta over the years, but only had access to old photos of how it looked like from the inside. You have now completed the overall picture for me, so thanks again, and I look forward to seeing it refurbished hopefully in a few years time. Cheers and keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for this ‘exclusive’ tour Steve. I was there three years ago, but there was no way l could get inside (still privately owned) and then it was put on the market to be demolished by another property developer. Thank goodness Heritage Malta has stepped in to preserve an important piece of Malta’s history. l look forward to seeing it again once it is fully restored, but so much of Malta is being destroyed by greedy unsympathetic developers. Do visit the wonderful Villa Frere Gardens being restored nearby, beyond the hospital - it’s well worth it.
I have heard so much about the history of this home. My parents used to tell me stories about their lives in Malta during the war. So many stories. Thank you for touring and showing this gem along with plans for restoration!
I'm just watching this video for the first time now and it means so much more after learning of Prince Philip's passing. Thank you for this tour of his Malta home.
What a video!! Pity the duke will not see the restored villa. Another masterpiece Steve. Goodness it is in such dilapidated state, especially the garden!!
Thankyou for such an awesome viewing of inside. I visited the house on my honeymoon in 2015 when I chatted to the owner and she asked me if I wanted to buy the villa. Very nice lady but in desperate need of funds. I visited it again last week and yesterday. (September 2021). This time I chatted to a local who gave me an update on Villa. I left a Union Jack on the house but was removed. I took many photos and I plan to send them to the Queen on my return home back to the UK. Can’t wait to see an update on this Villa. Keep up the great work x
Unbelievable beauty of the past is clearly seen here, surprised at the large size of it, I can understand the queen finding the happiest moments of her life here. Can’t wait to see the renovation.
Thanks for sharing. I lived the first 9yrs of my life in Guardamangia but obviously I've never seen this villa from the inside. This is huge and I loved that garden.
Hi Steve, brilliant video, what a glorious place. You did a super job showing around the Villa. Also for getting permission to go inside. It will be very interesting to see it restored and made into a museum. Thanks again.
Wow, what a privilege to be able to see the very place where the Queen and Prince Philip once lived, even more poignant today having heard the very sad news of Prince Philips passing this morning 🥺 Thank you so much for sharing this with us Steve, and thank you to Rose and Heritage Malta for making it happen 🙏🏼
What a privilege to be able to take us round where the Queen and Phillip lived while in Malta. I've often read she was really happy there. I'm surprised that she hasn't helped the upkeep of the place. Thanks Steve for the interesting video and thank you Rose for making it happen xx
Our grandfather worked in the garden there in the late 1940’s & early 1950’s. We’ve heard our lovely it was all our lives so it was good to see it for real. Will be so happy to visit it when the villa and garden has been restored.
Steve, thank you so much, for showing us inside Villa Gwadamangia . I always wanted to see what it looks like inside........ Just amazing, so many big rooms, I really appreciate it, for showing it to us.... Thanks to Heritage Malta and The Queen, for restoring it back to its original beauty..... So much history.... WOW. Again thanks Steve 😘👸🤴🏰
Hi Steve just watched again ,what a fab video ,you can just imagine it back in the day when it was in its glory .and parties in full swing .thanks for sharing 💕
Evening Steve. Lovely to see inside the building. There's a lot of work to be done and I bet the budget goes over the 9 million estimate. I bet the Queen and Duke would like to see this. So if anyone has a contact at the Palace....
It's so wonderful place, as one of Maltese chatarestic building styles, everything was made by the Maltese craftsmen, mentioning like, the Maltese old tradition tile patterns, if it's those outside metal gates, surrounding the main door, everything fine art hand details. It was so epic history during those periods, when Malta was truly a prestige island, not just in videos, but even on photos of history shots, including the views, with so less huge of these massive buildings of concrete and towers. The British they kept Malta so purity freshness as environment and fauna, in through glory island era state, not nowwwww!!!!!
Very interesting Steve thanks for the tours will be interesting to see at later date when it's been restored when hopefully we all will be back on holiday all the best classic trucker

Greetings from San Francisco. I see the weather in Malta is getting summer like. I enjoy the tour of the Queens residence in Malta. The building is enormous. So many rooms and a huge garden to boot. It’s to bad that it’s been neglected and not maintained properly. I was glad to hear that the government is investing $9million to renovate the building and property. Thanks again for another great video from Malta. Have a great rest of the day. Sahha.🇺🇸🇲🇹🌞

Wow, Steve very impressive ....love the Queen she's so pretty and elegant ....I once visited that place I had to go to the lu & I left my name on the wall....thanks for sharing!!!!!!
Thanks for the tour of the Queens old residence at Gwardamangia, what a lovely place& gardens, Heritage Malta should start the work of renovating ASAP , it’s gonna look beautiful when finished and opened up as Museum, they should invite the Queen to open it, that would be great, big thank you to Rose for all her hard work.
What a fantastic place. Thank you so much Steve for showing us around. I have just been watching on the tv the sad news of the passing of Prince Philip today so looking around their villa was a little bit sad. Another great video Steve. Thanks again, stay safe and well.
Wow Steve! What a great and interesting video! I loved just going through the rooms, I can only imagine the beauty that this villa must have been and I am looking forward to Part 2 of this! Thankyou for this.
Very nice video capture of such a gorgeous place. Nice video capture of such a gorgeous mansion. No doubt the HRH's like it here. In an entirely unrelated memory, I remember back in the 1970s there was a film about an assassination plot that took place in this island state of Malta. Forgot about the film until I saw this video though.
Thank you Steve, I really enjoyed seeing round that fabulous building. What a place to get lost in! I couldn`t make out very much of what you were saying ( the mask and the wind didn`t help!) but it was still very enjoyable. I hope I live long enough to see the villa when it is back to its former glory. Take care. xx

Brilliant Steve. Yesterday was a sad day for Britain and the Commonwealth. We can only imagine how even very much sadder for The Queen. Philip was a great man of a great generation, which saved us all from horrible dictatorship. So his funeral yesterday was a proud occasion too. Glad to see that the Queen and the Duke got to see the place again on their recent visit. I hope to see it when it has been restored, if it is going to be open to the public. And hope that Her Majesty will be able to see it then too, if she wants to.
Thanks for that Vid Steve. It’s very interesting to see the before and hopefully you will be one of the first to see the finished renovation regards peter
Very interesting to watch. Ironically on the day Prince Philip passed away. I’m not surprised they loved it there. Thanks Steve. Will be good if possible to see it when it’s been restored.
What an interesting video - thank you to Rose for organising this. I bet the Queen would love to see this although might make her sad to see it in such a bad state but to see the change once it has been restored. Looking forward to seeing it done and to visit
What a scoop to be able to film Guardamangia!! Especially being aired on the day Prince Philip died. Thank you Rose, Steve and Heritage Malta. It should have been renovated years ago, it will be very popular I'm sure and be a good money spinner!! Absolutely loved this video. We'll done and congrats on being allowed to video it. X
What an great video Steve, and nice to see this and learn some history again. I think it will take a long time before everything is finished with the renovation, but another great location to visit in the future.
Hi Steve, a lovely video, so good that it's being renovated by Heritage Malta, well worth the work being put in to make it good again. It was so touching to watch your video today, following the passing of Prince Philip, you would have been walking in Prince Phillip's footsteps, though he would have still been alive when you recorded the video.Thank you Steve.
Great video. For sure Villa Guardamangia will be on many tourist's "must see" lists when it is re-juvenated. Look forward to the video to come when the work is all completed, which I suspect will be quite some time !
i wonder if her majesty will watch this steve... better mind our p's n q's just in case lol what a fantastic video steve thank u for sharing m8 really really cool steve
How poignant that you should be here, Steve, days before Prince Philip sadly passed away. A privilege for you and for us to be allowed to see where our Queen and her Consort stayed. Will be lovely to see the Villa once transformed. Stay safe Steve!! And thanks!
There is a smashing piece of film of her majesty and Prince Philip walking across the walkway as well as on the roof ,you could see all the war ships in harbour from the roof
HI STEVE THANKS FOR THE VIDEO,MANY TIMES PASSED THAT WAY,BUT DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHO LIVED THERE ALL THE YEARS AGO,VERY INTESTING YOUR WALK AROUND,IT'S A PITY THAT IN MALTA THERE WERE SO MANY PLACES LIKE THAT,CHEERS FROM YOUR WELSHMAN IN MALTA.
Hello Steve, that was nice to see but a little frustrating to see the condition it is in now days. You can't blame the Maltese stone for that much deterioration that is just neglect. Glad to hear they are going to restore it. Cheers 👍👍👍
Brought back feelings of my childhood. My parents rented an old big villa in Naxxar in the main street It was in an alley. THERE WERE A FEW SHOPS NEXT TO THE ALLY. NOT FAR FROM THE PIAZZA. Now I am in Australia. O FEELINGS OF MY LIFE. MY DAD WAS A BUS DRIVER. THE 620. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ JOSEPHINE XXXXXX
Hello Steve, now this was a very interesting video to watch, well to me personally it is anyway, it would be very interesting to see how it would look like when it's finished, it's a shame that's been left as bad as that in the first place ; I'm glad you spoken nicely as the Queen & Prince Philip may have an interest and watch this clip too, as we all like to think in our young happy memories, thanks to all those that helped you to get in there to make this video, so close to where I was brought up in Hamrun and to where my brother & sister lives, and also very close to what use to be St. Luke's Malta's main Hospital, bye 4 now & thanks again.....
What grand house there are in Malta so large and beautiful it will be lovely once it is done I would love to go and see it thanks always wondered what it looked like inside (Y)
Thank you Steve, great video! I just came across this video of our late Queen Elizabeth II. Sending greeting from London.
Wonderful! Its a shame it was left in that condition and she was not abale to visit again when she was over before she died
I use to walk by the place when I lived in Msida back in the 70’s. I didn’t know than that the Queen had lived there. Great video.
Hopefully it will be refurbished soon

Thank you Rose, Steve and Heritage Malta. It should have been renovated years ago, it will be very popular I'm sure and be a good money spinner!!
Absolutely loved this video. We'll done and congrats on being allowed to video it. X
Glad you enjoyed it
What an great video Steve, and nice to see this and learn some history again. I think it will take a long time before everything is finished with the renovation, but another great location to visit in the future.
Glad you enjoyed it yes was talk to them many we take a look after a little work was do ?? who knows ?
Hi Steve, a lovely video, so good that it's being renovated by Heritage Malta, well worth the work being put in to make it good again. It was so touching to watch your video today, following the passing of Prince Philip, you would have been walking in Prince Phillip's footsteps, though he would have still been alive when you recorded the video.Thank you Steve.
Many thanks! Yes was interesting and enjoyed it very much
cool video
Thank you so much
Great video. For sure Villa Guardamangia will be on many tourist's "must see" lists when it is re-juvenated. Look forward to the video to come when the work is all completed, which I suspect will be quite some time !

How poignant that you should be here, Steve, days before Prince Philip sadly passed away. A privilege for you and for us to be allowed to see where our Queen and her Consort stayed. Will be lovely to see the Villa once transformed. Stay safe Steve!! And thanks!
Yes Can not wait to see the finish and maybe I will be allowed to do updates
There is a smashing piece of film of her majesty and Prince Philip walking across the walkway as well as on the roof ,you could see all the war ships in harbour from the roof
Thank you Mickey !!

Hello Steve, that was nice to see but a little frustrating to see the condition it is in now days. You can't blame the Maltese stone for that much deterioration that is just neglect. Glad to hear they are going to restore it. Cheers 👍👍👍
Yes Sadly I agree just one has to choose the words right, !!
Steve watched it again with my wife on the big screen ... can almost touch and smell that lime stone ...🏅
Wow ...its it expensive smelly vision ??
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
THE 620. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ JOSEPHINE
XXXXXX
Great memories Jo ..Naxxar changed so much now ,
Hello Steve, now this was a very interesting video to watch, well to me personally it is anyway, it would be very interesting to see how it would look like when it's finished, it's a shame that's been left as bad as that in the first place ; I'm glad you spoken nicely as the Queen & Prince Philip may have an interest and watch this clip too, as we all like to think in our young happy memories, thanks to all those that helped you to get in there to make this video, so close to where I was brought up in Hamrun and to where my brother & sister lives, and also very close to what use to be St. Luke's Malta's main Hospital, bye 4 now & thanks again.....
I always speak nicely ? 😂
Impressive!
