Best video yet Steve, im a retired baker from Sunderland, ,and have been in that bakery many times when staying in Rabat, cant beat the old way with wood fired ovens takes the bread to a different level.
Love these old bakers. I used to walk round to the one in Nadur Gozo with my nan in the 1970s and we would take a string bag because the bread was so hot out of the oven.
I know it well. Used that bakery many times over the years. First used it back in 1969 when I was on his first visit to Malta, been using it ever since on subsequent visits. Thanks Steve, it looks just the same.
ENGLISHMAN 🏴 AT LARGE IN A VERY OLD MALTESE BAKERY🔥 🍞 🥖 😋 😊. If only we had a smell-a-vision TV. Don't know why they 'over bake' the original Maltese loaves - they look 'burnt' to me'. 🤔 😮. Also, I wonder if they still do the "Anchovy Ftira?" 😋. THANK YOU Steve and to ALL the lovely Falzon Bakery STAFF 🙏 🎥 👏 👏. Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
Maltese bread is sooo delicious 😋 Very interesting to see behind the scenes at such an old authentic place still going strong, making it fresh- will go there when we come back 🇲🇹 Thank you for ALL your videos Steve 🍞🥖😍
This has got to be the best video so far…..Maltese bread is so good. To see an old bakery is great because there are not too many around, I’m not sure if Fontana and Nadur are the last places on Gozo to have the bakeries. Thanks for taking the time to film and share.
Hi Steve, I've been to that bakery plenty of times when I was in Malta. My nanna used to live just up the street from there and when I've been to Malta I used to stay there with her

Thanks again 😁
Yes go and say hello from Englishman, can mostly understand all but speaking another matter, even when I am speaking mostly they don't understand cuz the accent, most of the time the words dont come out and that masses up the sentences and that only English 👍🤫🤣🤣🤣
We love Rabat as you. Thanks to La and yourself for the tour of the bakery, having spent time in a bakery in uk it was good to see it in Malta, also not this visit 4/5 years back we had a meal in Valletta, cant remember the name of restaurant but specialised in Maltese food and after the meal the staff took us to see where they cook it and the wood fired oven was exactly the same as the one you showed with the furnace on the side and the Maltese cross above the oven door that oven to was over 100years old. Great video thanks Steve, sorry we didn't find time to meet up we were so busy, lets hope next time.🇲🇹👍🙂

Hello. I am quarter Maltese and am trying to make Maltese bread properly. I have had moderate success. Please do you know what flour they use.
No, sorry , But there is a maltese/aussie makes videos on UA-cam he talks about everything about Maltese bread
