I am the old man focused on one small girl. She is my Granddaughter. She is never out of my sight. I also focus on other children when I do not see a guardian/parent type keeping them in sight. A quick glance in their direction while keeping Granddaughter is sight. I take action when I see small children distressed or moving away from area into higher risk areas. I will send my granddaughter to interact with them until Parent or Guardian is found. Lots of Parents get distracted in phones, siblings etc. It is up to everyone to be a protector.
Thanks for the video. If you see me at the playground watching and it makes you nervous. Come over and ask what i am doing. I will not take offense and tell you about my granddaughter, even bring her over to confirm. Just saying. trust your gut. when in doubt, find out.

As a mother with a lot of children I pair them up at the park and constantly scan the area. If I do not see one of my children within a few second time window of me looking for them I start asking their buddy and/or another sibling if they see them in my blind spot. Once, one of my not shy children was talking to a strange adult sitting in the playground. I knew the greater chance was that he was a grandfather, but you never know. I immediately positioned myself next to them and listened to the conversation. Sure enough, he was watching his granddaughter. As soon as I could get her away without being impolite, I reminded her of her buddy who was by himself. There was no danger, but I am always on alert at a public park.

I saw an older gentleman with his grandchild doing this and he asked if I knew the girls playing with no parent nearby. We found out the girls play alone so we waited until the girls went home. There’s a lot of criminal action in our neighborhoods so I don’t understand her thinking but thank God there are kind people looking out for others still ❤ God bless you

I teach self defense and situational awareness to children in northern Nevada through a 4-H program. The only problem I have is getting the parents involved. It amazes me how ignorant some of the parents are with the dangers that exist. Some have the mindset that things like pedophiles and human trafficking aren't that big of a problem in a rural setting.

One backwoods tactic I've come to use in the city as well: I will turn around at pretty regular intervals and check my back trail. If someone is following, their attention is on you, and any abrupt action you make will cause some sort of reaction from them. It could be as little as them changing their gait, or as much as them immediately pausing and trying to look nonchalant.

I'm a firm believer in women, especially with children, get a carry conceal and really train with it. Having a firearm or knife or pepper spray doesn't do squat without practice and training because in the heat of the moment most people panic. Where is my gun or knife? What pocket did I put my pepper spray in? By that time the show is over. A real firearm is the best route for self-defense in my opinion. Thank you for the informative videos, Sir. In this day and age it can prove very beneficial. Gone are the days of Andy Griffith where the worst crime was siphoning gas out of a pickup truck at 2:00. Praying and trusting in Jesus is the most important thing to do, as we are aware of our surroundings and being equipped in other ways.

Problem with a concealed carry permit is now the authorities (and their street-level thugs, gangstalkers if you will) know you're carrying concealed. That is NOT acceptable if you're carrying to defend yourself because it actually makes you more vulnerable since a huge number of people now know you're carrying concealed--it's a matter of government record now.
I'm not a woman but if I were, especially with kids, I would carry concealed without any paperwork and only buy a gun from a private seller.
Having a concealed gun to defend yourself and your children is NONE OF THE POLICE OR GOVERNMENT'S FUCKING BUSINESS. You might need it to defend yourself from THEM as well as from garden-variety thugs like rapists, thieves and/or aspiring young gangsters.

The part where you discuss protecting the child reminds me of the time I saved my nephew. It was many years ago when he was a little boy. Me and my family were speeding down a river on our boat enjoying the ride when all of a sudden the boat hit a rock or something. This made the boat pop upwards catapulting my nephew straight into the water and under the boat. I feel like God used an angle to control my body because I don't even know how I did it, but instantly got up and grabbed my nephew by the shirt as soon as he came from under the boat. Keep in mind that the boat was still speeding. It happened so fast and I don't even think anyone had time to process what happened. But I did, I saw the whole thing. I knew that by seeing my nephew fall from the front of the boat and going under it, I would have had to calculate where he would come out from the rear of the boat. That's exactly what I did. If I didn't catch him, he most likely would've hit the propeller. This all happened within about 2 seconds. So what I got from this is that sometimes, there's just no time to think. Sometimes you just know what to do without actually knowing how you did it. This may not relate so well to the video, but it just reminds me of that. Those moments where you just don't think at all, you just do.

Rather than stopping and realizing someone is out there, I snatched open the door to see who it was. Did I pick up anything?- NOPE. Did I think to pick up anything?- NOPE. Were was my weapon- on the dresser, right by the door. Could I have gotten it in time- yes, except, they could have gotten it first. It ended up being a radio on the dresser that I heard. The first AZ. 2 men in a horrible truck, I froze looked down, but he being army trained & tall saw they were reaching for guns. He whipped his pack off cocked his gun inside the pack a 357 magnum , locked eyes with them & said move along. The second Tennessee I was older gun trained. I stalled a man as I was waiting for my husband who was in a a bathroom in an empty State Park. The man was talking me up (our car with gun was locked). He was assessing me from his car, as he rolled closer only 1 hand visible. I called out to my husband a prearranged word signal, dogs name, my husband came out with his walking stick glared & guy fled from empty lot.

I turned to see this guy heading my way. I ran to my car. He started running at the same time. I kept missing the door handle! Finally my hand grabbed it . I slammed my foot in the door. Then I kept missing the shift!!! Just as he got to my door, I got it into drive foot already on gas to floor! Geesh my body just wasn't working for me! I was pretty freaked out. I have seen so many people so "absorbed" by their phone that they almost walked right into traffic. Or a few who were robbed of their phone because they were starring at the screen totally unaware and got sucker punched and could not even give a basic description of the suspect.
My other pet peeve is people running with headphones. I'm all for the healthy run, but God gave humans sight and hearing as tools for self defense, taking one of those away just up's the odds in the bad guys favor.

I wish someone would make an App, especially where Parents could activate it in their kids phones, where maybe thru the motion detector, or GPS, the phones would only work, if you were stationary !
No more walking into traffic, while staring at the phone, and no more texting while driving, etc. !
    Seems it's a,
    " No Brainer " !
Would save lives, and prevent injuries !
    👍😉

My wife makes fun of me cause she says I’m always looking around and she knows why and while she likes to poke fun at it occasionally she’s said numerous times she feels safe knowing I’m always scanning. Before and during getting in and out of a vehicle, entrance/doorway of any kind and especially if we’re out to eat or out in public somewhere. I’ve tried time and time again to get her to conceal carry and she just hasn’t come around to the fact that she would be a lot safer if she had a tool to equal the playing field against any potential attacker. I would feel a lot safer if she did but luckily anytime she’s out with our kid I’m with them but still there are those times when I’m not too occasionally. It’s scary thinking of something happening with just my wife and kid out somewhere cause my wife can’t fight or anything and our daughter is 7 so that’s not helping. Really wish I could get her into carrying

Just a idea....Get her a simple type gun, like a revolver. Some women can be intimidated because they think there may be to many steps to use a gun like say a glock. A revolver is simple to use, so it makes it easy for first time gun users that may not be confident with other type guns. A revolver is small, effective and easy, point and shoot. It also fits well in all kinds of purses, or hip bags.

Good video and good foot wedge advice but I noticed if foot is near hinge side leverage from door is available for attacker but if foot is near door latch side leverage from door is diminished (though leg is more exposed too). Anecdote: I took 2 young teen grandchildren to a play structure park then sat alone on a bench a ways away and watched them. A man came and sat beside me till my granddaughter came and interacted with me. I’ve wondered if he was just a kindly soul or was wary of a potential predator situation. Fortunately I was rescued by my granddaughter.

Thank you for this information I’m 68. I’m a gun owner and I practice shooting quite a bit with my husband. I can’t believe how many people don’t pay attention and they’re always looking at their phones. I didn’t grow up with the phone so I don’t use it unless I need to call somebody, I never have my phone out and I’m looking at it. it’s so dangerous. A woman in a restaurant wasn’t paying attention and a little girl of three years old climbed up on the table. She didn’t even notice it.😮

A woman posted to Nextdoor in my area a few months ago, and it really annoyed me what she did. A man had apparently “followed her home” from the local corn maze, and she didn’t notice him until she pulled in her driveway. She said he just told her that her tail lights weren’t working, then he left. She went on and on about how that wasn’t possible, he had to be lying, and she went as far as calling him a “predator”. Well, turns out, that man saw her post and commented on it. I was already bothered by the number of assumptions she had made about him, and how she posted his physical description and the make and model of his car on social media before ever confirming anything. She basically called for a witch hunt with zero evidence to support he was in the wrong. When he commented, he affirmed what he told her at first, he was just trying to let her know her lights weren’t working, and then he drove off. By the end of the comments back and forth, I believed HIM, and that woman had no business running to social media and accusing him of being a predator. I’m sick of seeing this kind of crap, sick of seeing ppl post images and videos of others captured by their stupid Ring doorbells (I swear those are the bane of human existence, they only make ppl MORE paranoid). If I see one more “do you know who this person is?” post I might snap. My point in sharing these stories is this-I wish everyone would actually LEARN how to spot dangerous behaviors in others instead of assuming that, just because someone’s behavior doesn’t make sense to them, just bc they don’t KNOW what they’re doing immediately, that it’s “suspicious”. Most of the time, it just isn’t. I’ve seen ppl call the cops on uniformed surveyors in company vehicles bc they were “suspicious”, it’s ridiculous. So my advice? Stop with the doorbell cameras, they don’t actually prevent crimes, and they’ve made ppl more suspicious of every little thing, which means they’re not putting any work into learning how to detect bad actors. Stop running to social media every time you interact with someone, assuming they’re up to no good, and plastering their photos all over the place. You don’t have the right to do that unless you KNOW, or at least REASONABLY suspect, that they’re bad actors.

Great. Subscribed after one viewing of one vid. This video actually IS real self defense. I’m assuming something about anyone who watched it beginning to end, that you are a particular kind of person. And so, I want to give you something because I think you may actually hear. I’ve focused on Martial Arts for many years, and realized they mostly aren’t self defense. So late in life. But I came on Tim Larkin. What most consider self defense, body on body combat, escape and evasion, he actually teaches, and it is self defense.. I am in no way affiliated with him whatsoever haven’t even purchased anything from him, yet. Still, he’s a very rare thing, and he’s virtually a needle in a haystack here online. I’m inspired because Frogman’s whole communication and Tim’s are on the same page, the same God talking through them.

Living in a false sense of reality is 98% of the population. I’ve been attacked, almost robbed, fights, car chases, all types of things numerous times. Not once did I see any of them coming at me ahead of time. It was all a knee jerk fly by the seat of your pants reaction. However since I train I can keep myself calm if anything did break out or pop off. Training is important but it’s your demeanor, mindset, attitude, and a bunch of other things that will keep you alive.

Unfortunately here in Australia if you shoot someone through the door like that , chances are that you would be charged with murder or manslaughter . Especially if they were unarmed or had a knife, because we have what is called the appropriate use of force or unequal force.
Meaning if you attack me with a knife and I shoot you with a gun, that’s considered to be unreasonable use of force, we do not have any stand your ground laws , whatsoever.
The authorities say that you should have run away or just complied

My EDC has a rotation and depending where I am going makes for the right tool for the potentially right job. I only draw for 2 reasons. 1: Training 2: If I need to protect myself and others. I hope I am never in a situation where I need to draw, but I am prepared for it. I also keep a duty gun belt that carries handcuffs and keys on the back side, also concealed. Cause why not. Preparedness.

Great situational awareness and self-defense video for these scenarios! Situational awareness is of key importance anywhere, every time. However, these child abduction situations (by a stranger) are rather rare, as the overwhelming majority are committed by a parent-typically involving custody matters. Also, 90% of child abuse is committed by someone the child knows (Family, family friends, caretakers). Either way, it is best to be prepared and this video is a good source of teaching.
