You need a set of jacks under the beaver tail of the trailer to use when loading and unloading the Bombardier, to prevent lifting the rear of your pickup truck . If you unloaded on uneven or hilly terrain there's a chance you truck could lose traction and runaway or twist sideways .

I noticed that too, I wonder how much he cut out of the video of it starting right up, also how he held onto the key once it started.
These were built to plow sidewalks, which is why they are so small.

@@skysthelimit866 Looks like the ones that the City of Montreal uses to push snow from the sidewalks onto the street during snow clearing operations. The City of Montreal doesn't just plow the streets and sidewalks, they actually remove the snow. I don't know how many other cities use these, but Montreal must have a few hundred of them. Still use them (probably more modern versions) to this day. Rugged little beasts (solid steel construction, and a pretty powerful diesel engine), and many of them use a PTO in the back, which can be used to attach a spreader for salt, sand/gravel, or a mix of both.

Joe, when you plow an unfrozen ground keep the blade up an inch off the ground so you don't plow dirt and gravel off the driveway. After the ground freezes you can go all the way down but you will end up with an ice road in certain conditions. I always leave an inch or so, so there is snow left to get traction off of for cars with summer tires still on them. Good job, it sounds like a loose or bad belt in the engine may not be allowing the alternator to charge the battery totally. It sure beats shoveling by hand, or even a snow blower. I love your videos, we get to see inside lots of engines, thanks.😊

Joe , you really need to store the outboard motor near vertical so that any rain gathered in the lower gear casing/ Exhaust behind the prop will empty out on its own or bag up the prop to stop water getting into the lower case exhaust or else if it freezes you could easily find the ice splits the lower unit , seen that happen too many times

I have installed wipers on equipment similar to what you have ,JC Whitney carries a nice little wiper motor & wiper setup for old Willy’s Jeeps works perfectly for a flat mount like on the Bombi. You can install one to cover the middle of the windshield in fact I think I saw mounting holes already there above the windshield for such a motor! As far as defrost you already have cab heat so all you need is a 6” 12volt fan aimed at the windshield, the cab heater will take care of the rest! I plowed for a long time. If it were me, i would plow with the blade straight...right down the middle, then angle the blade full right two passes, then left 2 passes. The entrance to the main road works better if you plow IN from the road to the driveway and leave yourself plenty of room to push the snow. You run out of room PRETTY QUICK. You will probably get as many opinions as you get comments. Just advising as to my experience plowing in far Northern Michigan for many years. Nice machine, brother. Wish i had that instead of a pickup truck. I had a BOSS angle plow, which was nice!

    • @AlAmantea
      @AlAmantea 8 місяців тому

I came to the comments to say something very similar. I also plowed for forever and a day. I would start dead center at the road to the drive, blade straight, and go straight up to the house. no stopping. Then angle right, plow up the right side of the drive, and down the left, keeping that blade angled right. You can clear a drive pretty quick that way. when the drive is clear, back drag up by the house (or side drag/plow if you have room and catch the smaller areas. Make sure you push plenty far back from the edges so you room for the next snowfall (or three) because as Stephen said, you will run out of room for snow very quickly. 30 years in Iowa pushing snow... then I moved south so I didn't have to any more! Personally I'd be plowing with that Bombardier and seel that 4 wheeler plow. They are more of a pain to deal with and don't move snow near as quick as you think it should. THose blades are too small and tough to angle unless they have an electric blade.

Yeah, if ther's one hing we learned up here in the Great White North in the 40 years I've spent in my rural subdivision -- forget snowplows on driveways. Snowblowers work ten times better. Gravel or asphalt, careening old Chev / Jeep / Ram pickups got nowhere to put the darn snow. A 10 Honda snowblower is just as quick on a 150 foot driveway, and gets the snow out of here.
Now if you want to clear a store parking lot, that's another matter.
Blizzard? Deep snow? Just an average overnight flurry is all you got there, lad.

Guy never reads comments, such a shame cause a lot of people give good advice to take on board for the next time you use the machine. TAKE THE BLADE STANDS OFF WHEN PLOUGHING!!!!!!!! "I wonder why the blade doesn't go down properly and is leaving 2 lines either side where the feet hit the ground??" ARRRGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Keep the great video's coming great to watch . usually watch your video's on tv dont know how to comment ???? ok on lap top .nice one

With the BEAST , Tighten or replace hydraulic belt, it’s going to break . You have a misfire as well, if that’s gas use your choke with cold startups, if diesel check glow plugs or throttle heater, you have extended cranking on startup. Check all your charging systems connections / fuses for corrosion free and tight.

I love your videos and I want to inform you of the correct pronunciation of the company name. Don't hate me. I was raised in the midwest and pronounced it the same way you do. Then I moved to Montreal and well, things got a bit tense.
Bombardier is a French Quebec company. Bombardier is pronounced bomb-bar-dee-eh. Trust me when I say Quebecers take their language very seriously. Anyway. Thanks for the content.

Also with the BEAST , when you were first driving in the field, small puffs of steam were visible, coupled with the misfiring, be cautious of head gasket issues.

So wheres the deep snow and the blizzard?😂 You knew someone was going to say something!😅 Although i think a blizzard is just a snows storm wirh winds over a certain mph. Amd youve got more snow than here in Maine! Rain and 50s...that thing is sweet btw, would be a blast to plow some real snow with it!

Hey man does it have only 1 gear?? It seems like it's always at redline that can't be good for it lol, You should try taking off in 2nd gear and see how that goes! If I was you I would avoid 1st gear unless you were going up a steep incline or something like that.. just something to think about love the videos been watching since the beginning!
