We all owe such a debt to Michael Greger. I watch his channel every day and learn something with every new video. He has helped literally hundreds of thousands of people.
Nice one Dr Greger, very useful info, things we can really use. Those questions were very good, gave him an opportunity to share lots of info. Enjoyed your vegan comments Dr G, and that fun mad-scientist in you that's always finding strange new ingredients. Great topic.
I'm supplementing calcium because of osteoporosis and vitamin K2. It's a recent addition because I'm scared of fractures. I've joined a gym a year ago but I'm not sure what weights to lift/aim for, and unfortunately the gym staff go through the motions but they're not interested. It's affordable gym and could change to another gym, pay double but no guarantee staff would be more interested either. Probably because when we reach a certain age we're invisible.
It is just crazy that Doctors do not get nutrition training in Medical schools. Every doctor visit should include some nutrition discussion. The majority of the population is over weight or obese leading to high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer. Schools and hospital cafeterias should be leading the way to good health by setting the example of what is a healthy meal and teaching people what to eat and why.. Every person in the hospital for heart disease should have a nutrition class before being checked out from the hospital with follow up education and training in nutrition. Medicare and Medicaid should require patient nutrition education as part of their standard of care. Nutrition information should be run on the hospital TV channel.
@@valerietomsic8454 That’s great! Trader Joes in the US is Aldi here I think? The purest one I’ve found in Australia is Bonsoy. It includes filtered water, soybeans and Budda’s tears (which are supposed to be healthy). I think that’s all. Haven’t found any with just soybeans water.
@@sugarplumk2381 There's another big brand WESTSOY here in the U.S.A. -- not sure if it's sold there "down under".....you might check on it....only 2 ingredients organic soybeans and water. Just for what it's worth!
One hour of weight bearing exercise. Gosh… I thought I was doing well with 20-25 minutes 4x per week. Yikes…. Time to reexamine my strength training routine.

Love your stuff Dr greger but I just want to make one observation as far as your spice supplements that don't taste good, our tongue has taste buds for a reason 👍
I started adding cumin to my yoghurt when I was 16 on a whim. I actually really liked the taste of it and started losing weight, around 12 kgs in a span of 2 years. I didn't feel hungry until it was already evening but could never put my finger on what it was that kept me satiated for so long. Now I know that it was the tasty pepper alternative all along.
This comment is grossly misattributing a correlation to a causation. Some cumin in yogurt did not cause you to lose weight at the rate of half a kilo/1 lb per month, equivalent to a 10 calorie deficit per day.
I hear bone broth is good for you. Do you recommend bone broth for health benefits? It is made from animal products. I ask because I know someone dealing with autoimmune disease.
I posted a lengthy reply detailing the work of Dr John Prudden, but it was removed straight away. It's anyone's guess why ?? Dr G ? Would you like to comment on why you removed my comment ? Or are the bots doing your dirty work ?
@@apteryx7080 Drinking bone broth for nutrients is like drinking sewage water because you are thirsty. You can get nutrients from bone broth but there are more downsides than benefits. No amount of lead is safe to consume.
Bought his convoluted book years ago and tossed it since he's just a mainstream talking head doc that is quite out of touch with what's working in healthy diets. Listen to him and you'll be full of fructose sugars that will make your liver quite happy.
Why is he wearing the doctor garb? Ah yes, he needs it to make himself look like a doctor. He graduated medical school. But never worked a day in his life as an ACTUAL doctor.
This dr is one of the people made me go vegan. He is fun to watch . Thanks sir 🙏🏿😞

Dude dark leafy greens have K1, and your body, the gut bacteria, turns K1 to k2

Soy is a my favourite milk too. Black soy beans! I will look for them. I usually buy edamame from the local sushi outlet.
I also love organic soy milk...Trader Joe's here in the United States sells a shelf stable box with only 2 ingredients: organic soy beans, water.

Michael, why are your teeth rotting on the "world's healthiest diet"?😆
Because healthy eating doesn’t determine healthy teeth. It especially if you’re a coffee drinker.
His teeth are not rotting.
