It's been years since I've seen the film, but based off this clip alone I'm assuming it's because he wanted to die. The idea of a soldier "too changes by war to go back home, to be normal again" is a very common trope in war movies because it's a very real and common thing that happens. I'd assume this was the character's arc leading up to his decision to stay and fight, that paired with what another comment said, that they were ordered to be there and protect medical, it makes sense for him

Crazy thing is. This movie is based off an actual event during the war. Greatest generation.
horse shit
Yeah I don't know why they didn't push that angle harder it's unbelievable ALMOST until you find out it actually HAPPENED!? I was like WTAF!?
I never realized till I watched this movie again that one of the army leaders (the one who plays Malfoy in Harry Potter) says that they're the last line of defense before possibly being taken over. That makes Brad Pitts characters decision so much more meaningful knowing he's willing to willfully give up his life to save his troops!
Kalau kalian ingat doa makan di rumah emma? Ya aku selalu mengambil kata TERIMAKASIH TUHAN KARNA MENGIJINKAN KAMI HINDUP HARI INI, kata kata itu sangat luas untuk di jabarkan
Best job I ever had.
Everybody did a cracking job in this one , every single one of em 🫡
Pride something this usa has forgotten
Duty.
One of the best underrated war movies . Everyone did an excellent job here
hitting the backstep on the "its alright" is so perfect
Everyone in this movie fucking nailed their roles, one of my top 5 favorite war films
Man everytime I hears Shias “stop” goose bumps
This film is underrated, the characters, the fight scenes w Nazi tanks, the courage of American tank units left to end the war vs Nazis is devastating.
Probably the greatest team of actors in my opinion. This movie was absolutely incredible
This is my home !!!!!! True very true!!!!!! Bless every & ALL veterans !!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They’re all questioning the “how” are we going to do this because it didn’t make sense logistically.
But Shia saw right through to the “why” and realizes Brad Pitt wants to die there. Shia looks to me like he’s sad and also scared when he yells “stop”, not sure he’s ready to knowingly commit to certain death right there and doesn’t want Brad to die.
Brad sees this and says to leave and that it’s alright. Then Shia realizes he can’t leave his friend and tank commander, responding with that “hmmm”.
So much said just with their looks. Brilliant.
Say what you want about Shia but my GOD that line. Incredible movie
"Whatcha mean you gonna hold this crossroa....the tank's busted!". Perfect timing and acting.
