@c m Yeah, haven't experienced any of that. Neither has anyone I actually know in person that has the phone. It seems that "phone testers" have beefs with it that the normal everyday Joe/Jane just doesn't.
I bought this phone despite the bad reviews. This is by far the best android experience and definitely does not match the reviews. Extremely useful software. If you’re planning on purchasing this phone, do it and you will not regret it. Try and purchase it now as there is a discount in the google store with a free google home hub.
Considering buying this phone because it's on sale for $499 right now until May 9. I'm not someone who wants to spend $$$$ on a phone so I think this might be a good upgrade from my Huawei Mate Se!
The Recorder app also will mark out sections where there is whistling, or if a song is playing. Though it doesn't color code these sections, just shows a bit of text at the top that says "Whistling" or "Music", though "Music" is at least orange compared to the normal blue.
THANK YOU!!! This video is awesome! I thought I knew everything there was to know about my Pixel 4 XL, but I had no idea about auto fill for verification code. This will save me a lot of time for logging into my financial apps that required 2 Step Authentication text codes.
I've been using the "Now Playing" feature on my pixel 2 for a while and quite often. For those that like to use it and want a bit of a quicker method to get to the history and more options such as opening the song on Spotify or Google music, you can create a shortcut on the home screen that takes you directly to the app.
Great video man. The hold for quick video feature automatically takes 10 high quality photos, those are the ones you are selecting from. In a motion photo, as well as pressing the 3 dots in the upper right, you can swipe up on the photo and underneath the picture metadata you can see the picture roll and tap that to pick an alternate shot.

One that works across Pixel devices and many might not know... if you long press an app icon you'll get a list of actions you can jump directly to within that app.
good quality content I was looking for it. I switched from Samsung s8 to Pixel 4xl and you helped me a lot with day to day usage. Thank you for your hard work.
Good video. Toward the end there when talking about top shot just FYI, you can just swipe up on the photo to reveal the sample strip. You don't need to fiddle with the over flow menu. You even did it when you checked the resolution in the photo info. You can see the strip on the video.
Awesome and very informative video! I love my pixel 4xl after a week with it. Was skeptical the first couple days because of its size but coming from the OG pixel, I am now in love.
Without any specific reason, there should be 256/512 GB capacities on pixel 4. They're too expensive to be anything less. iPhone 11 trashes this, and Apple is notoriously stingy with storage prices. At least the higher capacity exists. Also, didn't they get rid of unlimited storage to Google photos or severely cripple it for Pixel owners? At least it's missing 4K60 video; it would've filled the base model so quickly that way. Oh, and there should just be expandable storage if they're gonna make you play iPhone 6-era games with the storage limitations. Notwithstanding the terrible battery makes the lack of headphone jack even more questionable (apple at least improved battery capacity and did something with the space when it removed it; Google lazily copied them and hasn't changed since).
Interesting to see that these "Unknown Pixel 4 Features" are almost all just standard things from Android 9 and 10 that most manufacturers have some form of, although some have been cut (like the app drawer in recents isn't there on Samsung devices). Quickstep is a given on any Android 9 phone and up, Dark Theme is an Android 10 thing, App Pinning has existed since Android 5, Split Screen since Android 6, Digital Wellbeing is Android 9, and so on. Out of these, only about 6 or 7 features were actually Pixel features, and of those only a couple were not features that have been advertised (such as the ability to customise the Pixel 4 live wallpaper). My 2014 Sony Xperia Z3 has more than half of these features, and is running Android 9.
Very informational. Google would do well to check out you reviews I think. Kinda scary the stuff that the Big G has access to now though. Like noting the music we're listening to 😬

Great video mate, just got the phone and so far really pleased with it. 1 silly question but how do I remove the pause and skip buttons from UA-cam on this phone?
I would like to know how/why the pause and skip buttons showed up as well. It is unique to my Pixel 2 and Pixel 4, my Nexus 5X is still working and the UA-cam app on there does not have that stuff constantly appearing at the beginning of videos.
What I didn't know when I bought it and was thankful for when I found it....you can get the old haptic buttons back at the bottom of the screen. I didn't like the motion stuff whatsoever. I tolerated that for about 12 hours and when I found the option to change that....I never looked back and never will.
