Bro ion see how you don’t have more subscribers because bruh you be giving us information about everything bro and know too say it for any car guy or non car guy too understand it
2011-2014 charger, challenger, 300, I3 diablosport platinum, you can advance tune axle ratio, tire size and other. You can program more than one car
I have 2013 v6 challenger you telling me I can switch the gears with the Diablo sport tuner?
That dude in the black mustang my boi Daunte he the president of stang syndicate up here in Savannah lol small world crazy.
Yea he told me he knew yall! He cool people! We chopped it up for a bit while I was there getting the whip right.
what tuner did you use to retune the tcm?
HP tuners
2015 has a different diff I have the same one for my 07 srt8 300 if you had a diablo hand held you just have to go in and swap it to the right gears
Yea i used to have the diablo trinity t1000 however i switched to hptuner so i had to limp it to my tuner for him to update the trans tune for the new gears.
SRTfied_392 I’m bout to switch as well
You wont regret it trust me! The trans tune option alone made a big difference but my ride felt much more responsive after the hptune versus the diablo tuner.
SRTfied_392 right now I just have blue top solenoids and a triple plate converter 3600 stall I’ll use this until it blows
Oh nice! Yea upgrading the transmission is definitely next on my list.
I did this about two years ago to my Mopar automatic 2010 dodge challenger that was an RT 57 car after I super charged it and I put some huge tires on it tall tires tried to get the gear ratio down to around 380 and she’ll just burn tires and burn tires and burn tires I love the mod Just a little hard on gas is all
Same thing happened to my charger after switching to 3.09 rear end. Waiting for a tune now
Hey I just swapped from a 2.62 to a 3.09 all my gears are going crazy they were blinking when I put it in different gears
You need to tune your trans for the new gears
@@Srtfiedofficial in a 2018 daytona ?
Oh i thought you had a 2012-2014 model since you’re watching this video but no on the 8-speeds no tune is required but maybe you need to pull the TCM fuse and reset the system
@@Srtfiedofficialwait so I can put a 3.09 in my 2012 rt? What is required
Yes and you will need rear axles and spindles to get it to fit.
This is the best video whenever you upgrade your differential to a Getrag 3.92. This is exactly what happened to me. I am just waiting to get a tune
Yea a tune is a must if you’re doing this conversion on a 2011-2014 charger with the 5-speed Nag1 transmission.
I have a 2007 Daytona Charger, that I just installed the 3.92. I upgraded the driveshaft as well. It won't go over 35 exactly like your video.
Yea you need your tuner to make the adjustment on the trans tune to accommodate the gears.
What spindles you use..? And wat year..?
It’s a 2013 SRT8 and the spindles have nothing to do with changing out the diff so they were not touched.
Had a question bro I have a 2014 v6 and wanna add that 3.92 do you think the differential set up is similar to that model version of your car diff wise?
It is, however you will need axles and hubs in order to convert it. The website i got it from explains everything you need
@@Srtfiedofficial thanks a lot bro I need it to bring out the beast in my v6 cause I have a whole srt8 exhaust system now with catless Down pipes so I gotta get the gear to feed the car
Hey did you have to upgrade the rear axles? Or where these the factory axles on the car ?? They did look 👀 original
No they were factory! Only the SXT’s or RT’s that dont have the SRT axles need to upgrade them
Make sure magnetic tone ring is on outer end of axle. Doorman part
Having this issue now just did this swap just mad because I got a 6.0 hemi and this is the only thing holding it back
A tune will fix the issue. On the 2015’s and up a tune isnt required for the swap
6.0? Is it a bored 5.7?
Would you consider selling the old diff?
If you’re on IG DM me. Technically I have someone who has already claimed it but if you make me a bigger offer for it then its yours!
Did he just tune the correct gears?
Yea, it was a simple adjustment on the calibration.
@@Srtfiedofficial I swapped 3.73 for the 3.91y self.
Nice
What wheels are those brother.
They’re Ferrada FR2’s
I know its scary but you just made a big change to the computer so good tune 500 miles and cant wait to see her rip
Hate to bear bad news but didnt get to truly enjoy it after my post break in video on my channel so check out my other videos on her as this car is no longer on the channel.
@@Srtfiedofficialwhat happened
I explain and show what happened in further videos but ultimately my tuner messed up my tune after I got a new motor and cam installed. The gears had nothing to do with what ultimately happened and I still highly recommend the getrag 3.91 gears for the 5 speed SRT8 charger.
Can’t wait to see that thing perform 💪🏽
Man I cant wait to get it broken in myself to see the difference now!
How much was the updated tune on the trans?!?…seems to be getting pricey …how much money in it said & done
The updated tune was free since I took it back to the tuner who tuned my car!
@@Srtfiedofficial …but said & done…how much went into the project
The gears cost me $600 for this model. The getrag 3.92 gears for the SRT8 was a direct swap so no additional parts were needed so if you’re doing this and dont have a tune then add the additional cost for the tuning software and tune itself which you can find the cost on your preferred tuning softwares website. Again, as far as labor, get with your local shop and get a quote.
@@Srtfiedofficial what your guy would’ve charged anyone else for the retune?
If he didnt tune it himself prior to im not sure tbh🤷🏽♂️
What all do you need for the swap bro 🔥 I’m looking into changing mine
What trim do you have?
@@Srtfiedofficial the same year but an rt
You will need srt axles for the swap
@@Srtfiedofficial bet bro and is it plug and play should fit my driveshaft ?
Yea besides the axles its plug and play
That’s why you keep a hand held tuner you could have done that your self and with the thermostat you need to change your fan settings and you won’t have them codes
I had the diablo but changed to the hptuner and to be honest that was the best decision as the car gained 30whp over the diablo can tunes with the same modifications. But the code was read out the same day. The fan setting were adjusted and changed the time the hptune got put on the car however adjusting the fan settings does not prevent the code from coming on. The code has to be read out which the diablo i had didnt have the option to do. Also the diablo didnt offer a trans tune option like the hptune has which is another benefit over the diablo that made my car feel night and day different in comparison to the time i had the trinity installed.
Ok
I changed my rear diff on my rt and I never did the 500 mile break in lol
SRTfied_392 how do you like the 3.92 rear
Wow really lol?! Hopefully you dont have issues with it later with gear wine or etc.
What tuner did they use to change the gear ratio?
Hptuner
@@Srtfiedofficial Any idea if diablo tune will work for gear ratio?
Im sure your tuner could do it through a custom tune but with their can tune options and basic parameter adjustments I dont think you can
@@Srtfiedofficial good to know. Thanks for the info
No prob💯🙏🏽
is the bolt required for the 2012 rt ? n how can i find it
Its highly recommended, not required but you can get it through the dealership
@@Srtfiedofficial thank you n its for the my car or the diff
The car. The diff bolts up with no special bolts as its the same pumpkin size as OEM. The only difference is in the axle splines depending on what model you have. For the SRT8 its pretty much plug and play.
@@Srtfiedofficial thank you 🙏🏾 yes i got the pursuit looking to find a tuner before i boy the kit online
Ah ok gotcha. Yea you definitely will need a tune
Putting in a colder thermostat does not make the car longer to heat up/get to temp. It makes the engine plateau at that specific temp it's rated for. If you run the cooler (180*) thermo, you need to turn your fan setting down 20* or so from where they turn on/off from factory.
You are incorrect on that statement! A cooler thermostat opens much sooner than the OEM thermostat hence why it keeps your engine cooler. This is also why it takes your engine longer to warm up on cold mornings as the cooler thermostat opens much sooner allowing coolant to flow through (Do your own research on this). This same principle is applied to a defective OEM thermostat that is stuck open all the time. However you are correct that with proper fan settings a check engine light can be prevented but not avoided if you live in extreme cold climates or have occasional cold mornings that drop into the 30’s unless you get a tuner to read out the code all together.
@@Srtfiedofficial wrong. Sorry. If you want the motor to get to operating temp set by oem..then leave the factory 203 thermo in there. The RATE the engine heats up hasn't changed no matter what thermostat you have in the vehicle. The thermostat is what dictates where the temps stay at or around once fully at that temperature that is set on the thermostat used. The way you described it is wrong. The lower t-stat does not make the engine take longer to warm up. Sorry but you are not correct. You have it backwards. The 203 degree thermo takes longer for the engine to get to it's set temps, since it's higher.
Bro a simple google search will let you know that you are incorrect lol. A cooler thermostat will let coolant flow to your engine block faster which causes your engine to take longer to get to operating temps since the coolant is being introduced much sooner than the OEM thermostat would. Thats like trying to heat up a piece of metal that is passing through cold water. It will take that metal much longer to heat up than the piece that isn’t passing through cold water. Again, please do your research before trying to fact check lol as all a thermostat does is restrict coolant flow until the engine reaches a certain temperature and once it does it opens to allow the coolant flow through to cool the engine. A lower degree thermostat does this much sooner hence why your engine takes a bit longer to get to a specific operating range causing a CEL if not programmed for it.
To help you out, type in “does a cooler thermostat cause car to take longer to warm up” in a google search and you will find out that your theory is wrong with multiple links that give you plenty of facts.
