4:05 An open diff sends power 50/50 until one tire runs out of grip. Once either tire starts slipping effectively 100% of power is being sent to the tire with the least grip which provides very limited acceleration.
What you said makes sense about the car having the power to do straight line both tire burnouts but then only doing a one wheel peel on turns, I was told my challenger already had the lsd but that’s exactly what it does, straight line burnouts are both tires, but the slightest curve and it’s a 1 tire fire. Will definitely look into this mod
If you haven't stumbled upon this already, the 15' and up have a bastardized version of torque vectoring that applies the brake to even the grip on both wheels in certain conditions, making the open differential act as an LSD. This method is flawed and doesn't help a majority of the time, but definitely had me thinking my 2015 Chrysler 300 S 3.6 had an LSD
Anytime you open the inspection cover and screw with the gears by doing whatever when pulling them out you want a break in period so the gears set properly if not already and so if there is a whining or problem with the diff you can fix it before causing to much damage.
Quick question. Have you seen changes in your 0 to 60? What times are you getting? Reinstall advice. After slipping in the axles, bolt on the drive shaft before lifting all the way up in place. When you’re one person slid under the car, this helps with getting the holes lined up.
