- Jessica Dunne is a 16 year old intersectional feminist and climate activist from Dublin. Her talk is inspired by her own experience as a feminist and her frustration at the 'cookie cutter' version of feminism the media presents. She hopes her talk inspires you to look at feminism in a new light. Jessica Dunne is a 16-year-old student attending St Raphaela’s Secondary School, Dublin. Jessica is a singer-songwriter and climate activist. Her other interests include reading, drawing, debating and much more. She is a part of ‘Fridays for Future’, Dublin City ‘Comhairle na nÓg’, ‘Polluters Out’ and ‘Extinction Rebellion Youth’. She has a strong belief in the value of the youth voice and actively advocates for it where possible. Jessica grew up surrounded by strong female figures, and knows all too well the significance of feminism. In her talk she explores the movement and the reasons why she believes it is still very relevant in today’s society. Honestly what she talked about was having courage and the strength to always strive which can be found in anyone. She didn’t prove anything 😂
She's not one for child protection when it gets in the way of her own views, as seen on Grafton street at the weekend. Jessica thinks there is nothing wrong with artificially interfering with children's puberty . She is a great example of somebody who likes to pretentiously explain words like 'intersectionality' but stops short of recognising children's welfare when it intersects her commitment to the trans ideology. So much so that she believes any talk of child protection with regard to trans ideology is just weaponization of children, this despite the closure of the UK's largest child butchers ,The Tavistock Clinic. Why was a paediatric hospital that was entrusted with care of children closed down? Don't expect Jessica to enlighten us.
Feminism is nearly impossible to mock nowadays as it has become a parody unto itself.

That means being treated equally in divorces, asking men for marriage,paying for drinks and food, getting hit back if they punch someone, playing sports against men who will go at maximum effort to beat them, being sent to war, no help with heavy stuff and having no one care about their emotional state.

@@KL89452 I'm heavily embedded in Toxic masculinity as you say and I'm heavily embedded in reality. I don't want to change either because equality does not exist. If femininity is about equality then men and women should serve the same time for crimes and go to mixed prisons if we're all the same. They should compete against men in all the top sports with no changing of the rules. They should be given jobs based on their competency and not because we want women to be included. They should construct a society and fight in wars when there is danger.
Not even among men exists equality and so if that is what feminism is, then you've already lost the battle.Feminism forgets biology (I guess for you men and women have the same genitals) and evolution that will not change to make things fair. Whether I am toxic as you say or not, that will not change the fact that if we're treated with REAL equality like the areas I've mentioned women will lose severely.
You are one of these people who refuses to accept human nature. Humans are mainly only tolerant when things go their way. Take away safety,a nice home and money in the bank and you'll see this equality rubbish you proclaim go out the window.

It's so easy being a woman that a man can become one
I’d like to start this talk off with a parable. A story if you will. I was at a college, a second tier, not an ivy league school, a second choice school, and I was in a class. And there was a student in that class, okay? And the, the teacher, he was spouting some horrible non-sense, about how, it was something about how women’s rights are not legitimate, something that everybody knew was false, but if anybody had spoken up, he would’ve taken extreme joy in failing them. Okay? Nobody spoke up. One person raised her voice. Once person started talking. The teacher couldn’t believe it, the classroom couldn’t believe it either. But in the end, she had intuition on her side. And at the end of the day, she proved her point. That student was Albert Einstein.
And that same sense of childlike play and INNOCENCE that we know from Albert Einstein, I can sense it in this room today.

@Conor Burke I'm also lost as there is no official document and it seems the feminists I know don't agree so it's easy to have a misconception when everyone has their own spin. Can you explain to me what it is as no one seems to want to do this and they just call me a misogynist when I ask for a description of what this new wave of feminism is.

Personally speaking, I don’t need feminism nor does anyone in my country (U.S.) however, feminism is more than necessary in 3rd world countries, specifically in the Middle East.
