I think I have a 1977 Merc 70hp thunderbolt two stroke obviously fires right up and idles great but once you put it in gear it stalls and it seems like it’s got a misfire up until full throttle. Any advice?
I did all new fuel lines, but I did not do spark plug wires. I did do new plugs and rebuild both carbs. I still haven’t checked if they’re 100% synced yet, but it ran like this before I rebuilt the carbs.
I have this exact motor on my 78 Crestliner. Cool to see how to tune this properly.

It will also cut out at mid rpm. But it will get past it and take off.
Is this the same as the 60hp 3cyl?
Can you explain how you set the bottom idle stop screw?
@@eddiesalgado8987 that setting is to set the "in gear" idle rpm

Each model is slightly different in value. I would look up the specs in the manual
