👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🌹🌹 I have 5 dogs and in this day and age I just can't afford the vet bills for all 5. I can't thank you enough for what you do!
This is absolutely what the world of pets and pet owners needs! Honest, straight up, no bs - thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge to help our pets live better lives. You are a blessing
I can’t even believe how well this worked. I’ve had my dog to the vet multiple times for allergies. She’s been on steroids, Apoquel you name it. Tried the vet prescribed diet. Nothing worked for very long. Gave her a bath with this recipe, let it sit for 10+ minutes and it’s been two hours and she hasn’t scratched once, her skin looks normal (it was very pink/red and irritated before the bath) and she even seems relaxed. Before she’d be like pacing and itching and just overall annoyed (I’d be mad too if I was itchy all the time). I’m honestly just so relieved! Thank you doctor! We will do this 1-2x a week for the next little while but I honestly thing this might be the miracle I’ve been looking for!!!!
My dog has same red inflamed like rash all over and yes I've tried everything as u. I 🙏 to GOD this works. I feel so badly for my Chunky! 😢
Thanks Dr. Andrew Jones!

Thank you Dr. Jones. I just stumbled across this video since my dog has been scratching like crazy. I appreciate your time, your knowledge and your generosity for sharing this information with us. I'll give this recipe a try. I just liked and subscribed to you.
Thank you so much, I hope my videos help.
I’m so happy I have all the ingredients for this shampoo. My sweet little maltipoo thanks you for his new shampoo that will help him be less itchy!
You are so welcome!
So happy I watched this video. I cant wait to try this amazing mixture.
Thanks for checking out my videos! Let me know how it goes.
I created a playlist for all your videos. I'm gonna care for my dog by your methods whenever possible. Thanks. you
Thanks :-)
I make soap. Olive oil is a gentle bastille ingredient for bastille. Coconut oil if it’s the highest ingredient or only ingredient is highly drying. Hopefully, there is an ingredient list on the package. Oh and if lye is listed, don’t give it a thought. It literally disappears during the curing process 😊
I love all your videos! My pitsky named Amazing Grace passed away a month ago, I now have a long hair chihuahua named Alyssa. I'm not trusting otc dog food or products anymore, and you're a wealth of information, thank you Sir. You could be my late husband's identical twin. He would also get into the tub to bathe Amazing Grace. I'm using this recipe on my chihuahua today. God bless you Doc and your family and furbabies. 👑 🙏🏻💞✝️🐾🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯
Why haven't I found your channel before today?!! Love this. Thank you Dr for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thanks Christy
I just looked at my dogs shampoo today and it is full of chemicals. He just had a bath the other day and he is scratching himself something chronic. I didn't even realize how harmful it was but today it is gone and I will be making him some organic shampoo. Thank you so much for this. x
I saw in the comments on another of his videos that someone just sprayed apple cider vinegar on their dog. So I deluted it a little and he seems so much better already. But I will try this too. Also I ordered rosemary capsules from Amazon today and we're both going to take it. I love that he does all the videos. Something surly has to work 😊
Dr Andrew Jones your formula is so effective ! My dog's Itching tremendously reduce having applied this shampoo for the first time. I saved a lot of money andtime. For those who haven't tried this shampoo should. Thank you Dr Jones. Bless you and your family.
Thanks for letting me know, Joan! I'm so glad to hear that.

Thank you!! I admire you!!
I have a little 3.2 pound Chihuahua who is 7 years old and has a liver shunt. Are these ingredients OK for her? Thank you so much for all of your help and your wonderful videos!
Excellent shampoo recipe. Thank you!

Thank you for the updated video with the essential oils. Great to see you in the tub with T. That is how I wash my dogs! They don't mind staying in for the 10 minutes when I am there too. Love your information! Thank you!!!
Thanks
Thank you so much! You're a lifesaver.
You're welcome.
Duuuuude you are everything. Thank you for your help.
You're welcome
My Yorkie is 4 years old and has been itchy since we got her as a puppy! She’s been to the vet, a dermatologist, a holistic doctor... been tested for everything ... no fleas, no mange, etc. strict diet for 6 months of venison ... still itchy, but mainly it’s her eyes and ears! It’s not seasonal , all year basically! No ear infection, no mites, just red from her scratching. I think it’s environmental! Her bedding and blankets washed with detergent with no dyes or perfumes as well! What do you suggest??? I’ve also tried your shampoo with castil soap lavender and peppermint oil! I will do the green tea, acv one next! HELP
Max our new one year old GSM that we adopted from a rescue this week is ichy. I made apple cider vinegar, tea, dr brawners is sold at Walgreens, CoConut oil, essense oil, oatmeal that i put in the blender. I appreciated your suggestions of how much of each. Any idea how to grind off those sharp teeth?
it was a joke about the pain a puppy can cause.
After washing them we dry our GS with a back pack blower. It removes excess hair and is stronger than a hair dryer.
They stand on our loading ramp so we dont need to bend down.
Thanks Doc
Welcome
Could you use lose lavender tea instead of the essential oil? Also be careful with tea tree some humans have allergic reaction to it. 💚✌🏼
Ty Dr. I wanted to use tea tree oil on skin of my dog and someone yelled at me told me it would kill my dog. Now I know that it won’t Bc I trust you fully.. ty again
You're awesome. Thankyou
:-)
Good vet has kindness in animals..Helpful.. Thank u for sharing
Love you Dr Jones ❤ Thank you so much , my dobermans are fighting allergies really bad right now , I'm gonna wash them with this ❤😇

@@dnutzz5358 lol no one ever replies
Thank you for your video!! However, how often should I shampoo my dog?
2 times/week maximum
Excellent!
Veterinary Secrets Hey! how is that Revolution working out for Pippy's itching? I appreciated that video you made with her as your patient. You may recall I commented a few weeks earlier that I suspected mange was the culprit for my dogs itchy conditions. With your endorsement as to the effectiveness of that topical treatment I'm going to try that route for a remedy, but this bath should be a welcome relief I can give them tonight.
P.S. Zoey and Barredeux say; Keep up the great videos. They really, really appreciate them.. woof!
Thanks Stephen- this worked well for her as she had lice.
Veterinary Secrets Thanks Dr. Jones. and are you identifying Pippy's lice as _not the same thing_ as mange, or are you just saying that if my dogs have those critters that live in the hair follicle itself the Revolution will prove useless?
Shoot, I think I already know the answer to my own question. I've got the later species that could care less about those topicals. Oh well, to the vet tomorrow, and a bath (sub that Castille Soap) tonight. Thanks again
good video i wrote it down my son's dog iches alot
Thanks
I would also suggest investigating what is in your dogs food. You cant help the dogs outside if what is going inside is causing the problem..I have a westie-renowned for skin issues😣I have found a brand called Dermacton soap shampoo works well on my dog
It healed his sore scabby skin..Thanks for your videos.my dog has gone super itchy because of a flea allergy.the fleas are gone but the itch remains😣i will have a go at what you suggested.thank you..and your dog is amazing in the bath.mine goes mental😂😂(edit-i dont work for dermacton, just a brand I found that helped)
Thank you! I’m ordering some now for my welsh terrier.
Seems most all dogs are itchy these days, some are losing hair. What do you think of Morgellan's? Such a good girl Tula is! Thanks for all the remedies for scratching, itching, and licking. Some work better than others for each singular condition. I have 3 dogs who couldn't stop scratching, down to one and she has terrible "elephant skin" that's red and inflamed. I'm trying everything, but so far nothing is getting rid of the blisters and sores on this one little dog. We are treating for mange and started them on Revolution but because of the skin irritation we have moved on to Bravecto which is oral. I am using a povidone Iodine solution to prevent infection, but nothing so far is making a dent on this one dog's skin. I'll now try this shampoo for today because it's so warm. We are back up to 50s*'F here in S CO. I'm wondering if the warm ( edit: and humid ) weather could be keeping parasites active?
Hi chinookvalley,
Yes the warm weather can keep the parasites going- good idea to r/o mange. Also treat for yeast. adding in the ACV to the wash.
Have you used neem oil on dogs for skin conditions or for other uses?
Dr. bronner's is available everywhere now (supermarkets, drugstores, or target).
Good to know, thank you.
Good morning Andrew. I'm going to try and keep this as short as possible. My Lucas has always had a problem with yeast. Minor but as yeast is so itchy even the tiniest breakout can be uncomfortable. His breakouts have always being small and easy to handle especially when I realized that the trigger for his breakouts was when he got wet. I realize this because the summer that he was one-year-old I would put the sprinkler on for him every day to play in and I noticed immediately that his undercarriage ,. Being his belly genital area creases in his back legs Etc always remained in that area. So I'm assuming that this is where yeast manifests itself. Oh also in his ears but this is much easier to maintain with regular cleaning. was constantly bathing him with all different types of combinations that I was getting on UA-cam. I believe one was possibly yours. I can't remember. But what the problem was because becoming wet or damp triggered the yeast and made it worse any kind of liquid solution was not helpful. It never got out of control until about a month ago when he had an enormous break out. I live in Vancouver so the rain is constant. I realized what was happening was when he was marking territory outside and lifting his leg all of the water that was on the leaves and the branches was covering his entire belly and undercarriage area and because I didn't notice this he had a massive outbreak. As soon as I noticed this I only let him outside quickly to relieve himself and come back in making sure that his belly was dry the yeast cleared up very quickly with only a few spots remaining. So I've explained the situation probably in many more words than I needed but what I'm looking for is a type of powder combination that I can sprinkle on Luke because obviously a condition that's triggered when it's made wet is not going to be aided by spraying it with a liquid. So please I'm assuming other people that have dogs with yeast find this to be a similar problem would you consider seeing if you could come up with something in a powder form that we could sprinkle on our fur babies. I have tried every internal combination to remove the yeast from his system but it's Ben there from birth and I've just accepted that we need to keep it under control as best we and not allow it to become aggravated. As soon as the summer comes and the weather dries up the problem discontinues. I appreciate your consideration. Many thanks.
Hi Dixie- have you tried topical ACV- perhaps even as a dilute spray?
Thank you for this will try it , Ouse my natural shampoo it has nothing in it its shop brought through. . Do they need there own shampoo ? . What do you think about selling dead dogs to rendering plants then dog food company's buy the protein .? :-). Does this happen in the U.K. as ?.well
Thank you so much for caring! Can you do a video on vaccines? I don’t know why dogs repeat their V’s such as rabies over & over? It doesn’t make sense
I'd like to know as well. It doesn't make sense at all
My pup is 5 months old and been itchy and bitting since we got her..
Before she had nothing now she has sore and red skin and thinning hair in spots
It’s colonic..
she didn’t have dry skin at all
I’ve flea treated her
Only once that didn’t help
Changed her food and even got her an allergy test
I use lavender coconut oil to sooth her helps a bit
The green tea spray with avc doesn’t really help
😢
Hello there. Thank you for the helpful info. I have a Pitbull American bulldog mix. Hes an indoor dog and lately has been having itchy skin accompanied with dandruff. Is this a good solution to use? If so how often can I bathe him?
Yes worth trying- Maximum twice/week
Can I use soapnut for dogs? Does it have any kind of side effects on them?
What is the best most gentle, non toxic shampoo to use for a dog. What about dry shampoos?
Hi DR.! PLEASE HELP my poor dogs who has been suffering allergies for many years, especially during August and September. The med doesn't work on them, I even double the doses. They just CAN'T stop bitting and itching for day/night.
I am going to try this home remedies shampoo but we live in Canada, might not be able to find the shampoo.
Please clarify if tea tree oil is TOXIC or not for dogs? I know you mentioned it but what made you think it's safe for dogs?
And please do a home remedy smoothing cream to calm the itchiness for dog!!
-love your videos, Dr. Thank you very much!! :)
As long as it's diluted, it can be safe enough to be used in dogs. Everything can be toxic, even water. It's just a matter of dosage. Please check the Allergy playlist for seasonal allergy: bit.ly/2PSREKG
Question...I've read tea tree oil is poisonous to dogs and should never be used. Is this your understanding as well and why it's included in the recipe?
Thanks! 😁👍
It's diluted and its poisonous if they ingested it
Would this work on westie dogs as my dog has itchy skin.
Can you write the Recipe in the description or put in the Comment section
How often is can I bathe my Bishon?
I don't have Copaiba so I used Oregano ... is that okay?
dont know if you answer questions or not, can this be used ilo your shampoo for dermatitis with yeast issues? im dealing with severe itching and smell. vet currently has given an oral flea n mite script but the itching is really bad on the pups. Alot of dry flaky skin and rash. currently used a antiparasitic and antiseborrheic medicated shampoo w.sulphur but not sure if this isnt making itching worse. im about to look up the essential oils needed for this receipe,
Does lavender make dogs sleepy?
How about if I share this video with my 20,000 followers on other social medias? They will love you for the all natural dog shampoo, thanks.

i want to try this so bad but on amazon these items won’t arrive til much later like by the end of the month and I really need it asap for my poor pug. is there another diy shampoo i can try for his itchiness in the meantime?
I made this and put it in a spray bottle. Stops the itching instantly. Making another batch for the bath.
Please, let me know if really works.. thank You
Can you use green tea bags? Also, if you want to make a large amount, how long will it keep?
Yes he says in the video
If you don't have a copaiba oil can you replace it with something else??? Thank you Dr.
Yes- just omit it and use the other oils
Isn't Tea tree oil hamfull to dogs?

Doc whats a good itch treatment for humans? Please your like the only american doc on youtube.
Peppermint essential oil....dilute with a carrier oil like olive, coconut, grape seed, etc.
So , what about facial area ????
What’s the shelf life on this soap?
thanks so m, Tuckeruch from my itchy skin Pom
Welcome
Will get recipe just suggested for itchy skin, thanks from me and Tucker, my Pom
My dog weighs 115 lbs. I have to use 4x the amount to make her shampoo. Do I multiply the amount of drops by 4 as well or would that be too much? Is 5 drops sufficient for 4x the tea and soap?
I just came hear wondering about the exact same thing! How to scale this up for 100 lbs dog?!
Is it ok to bathe my dog once a week?
Dear Doc, I have a double haired dog and read a bunch of articles that say do NOT cut their hair? My dog is miserable with the itchy rash all over and I always have his hair cut really short bc we live on the Gulf Coast of Texas! 1 mile from the beach. I'll tell u for months now it feels like 102 on most days. Local news words not mine. So, is there any truth to this no cutting thing? My dog always feels much better afterwards but about 2 weeks later when the undercoat starts to grow back he is miserable again.
Is this safe for puppies?
So, I'm assuming you can use this as a regular bathing method? Maybe once a month?
Yes
Hi Dr Jones ! is it possible to do the same for a cat ! ?
Hi an yes, especially at such a weak dilution
I have a 13 year old lab, first her hair felt dry. So I thought the issue was her diet. So I changed to TSC brand compared to blue buffalo lamb & rice. After many months her coat is now oily and she seams to have dandruff and loss bunch of hair however spring is on the way too. Should I bath her in head shoulders cause of the medication of silver in the product?
have you see the review on blue buffalo,, this month ,,seem to cause ??
May I know how long can this natural shampoo store and when will it be expired ?
I would keep it no more than 3 months, in the fridge.
Is it better to dry them with towel and air dry. Or i use a blow dryer. Didnt know if one or other was better for their skin.
It's preferable to towel-dry and then let it air dry.
Do you have a video on dandruff in dogs? @veterinarysecrets
Not just on dandruff- but great suggestion!
Veterinary Secrets yes please! I love your natural home remedies & my little Pekingese has some bad dandruff right now. I thought you mentioned it in a video before but I’m not sure which one but a whole video would be great!
I just tried this and my pom felt waxy, so washed him with men's anti dandruff shampoo after to remove that article coating
Hey there! The same thing happened to me with my short/coarse haired dog. I rinsed several times but once he was completely dry-24 hours later he was super soft, almost plush! Try again!
i tried castile soap and my dog got powdery skin flakes, too drying, perhaps? I think if u live in an arid, dry climate try something way more moisturizing
My grandmas 10lb Yorky at som garlic chicken and we don’t know how much can you tell me how much activated charcoal we can give her and how we should give it to her
Better to call your vet
I'm sorry Dr Andrew's but I have used this shampoo on my chronically itchy dog twice and it hasn't worked. I made it exactly how you said and my dog is still scratching and biting herself.
What is ACV?????
And where do I get it????
Joan Mencl apple cider vinegar
Can You Make A List On What We Need Cause I Didnt Catch Everything...
Hi, 1 cup green tea, 1 TBSPN Castille soap, 2 TBSPN Apple Cider Vinegar, 10 drops lavender essential oil
Email the video to yourself! 😉
did this work for any of you that tried it let me kno
Dr. Jones, I have a question... Are there essential oils that are toxic to cats? in application and/or using them in an oil diffuser in the home? Thank you very much for your great channel! :)
Hi Diana,
Generally the so called 'hot' oils are more toxic: Cinnamon, Clove, Lemongrass, Oregano, Thyme, also be cautious of Tea Tree Oil
I have diffused Lavender with my cat, and applied Lavender and Tea tree in a very dilute form for ringworm on cats.
Generally safe at 1-2%
I would not give them to cats orally, but would use them via a diffuser and topically so long as the topicalls are diluted in a carrier oil to 2%
Thank you so much for your reply good Dr.! I have been into essential oils the last few years and just two months ago got a new feline friend and I want to take good care of her. She's a little black cat with green eyes and her name is Olive. She says thank you too!
It's my understanding that Tea Tree oil is very toxic to cats and recently discovered it's toxic to dogs as well. Pls advise.
Check out usingeossafely.com/cats Leah is a certified aromatherapist and my go to for all things essential oil safety recommended. She does not recommend diffusing any essential oils around cats. Something about their respiratory system. See her website for topical as well.
DO YOU HAVE A CHANNEL FOR CATS? PLEASE?
Hi - I will be doing a cat video next week :-)
No oatmeal ?
Selenium sulfide...aka head and shoulders. Don't get it in their eyes. Keep a cup of clean water on hand...done for a month.
My aunt used Teatree oil on her dog and it killed it.
What are you thoughts on dog vaccinations?
Only give to puppies at 8, 12 weeks, then get titer tested at 1 year
Tea Tree Oil??? I thought that was bad for dogs and cats??? I'm confused.....
No tea tree oil. It's a neuro toxin. You will have to wash it off. Depends on how long it's left on, and the dilution.
You are only using 5 drops. It's diluted.
I swear someone on instagram is using a very simmlar rinse and selling it btw !
Really? ..Thanks
Lol. Itchy. Cool I'm about to use this on my 3 dogs.. Ugh..
Hello, I thought Tea trea oil was toxic to animals. Maybe I'm wrong. You are the vet.
HE DIDN’T SHAKE THE VINEGAR!! Yes, I am yelling. Always shake Braggs ACV.
Why did this recipe make my dog coat turn lighter? I love that it is natural but maybe I did something wrong? HELP
Can you please help me my dog got his leg run over by a car and we don't have enough money to take him to the vet
Any suggestions for my 1 year old dog constantly rubbing his face on the ground it bleeds and licking his paws so much they get raw red and swollen
Most pet owners giving their dogs a bath need to rinse properly. Not rinsing will cause itch in dogs just like humans…. Must rinse soap out well
True
If you want to screen shot for future reference...
DIY Dog Shampoo for Itchy Skin:
1cup lukewarm green tea (from 1 teabag or 1 Tbsp loose tea leaves), 1 Tbsp Castille soap, 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (antifungal), Essential oils/ 5 drops each= Copaiba (anti-inflammatory), Lavender (antibacterial & antihistamine), and Tea Tree oil (antibacterial, antifungal, anti-critter).
Avoid eyes & mucas membranes (use cotton balls or TP squares to prevent flooding inside of ears). Focus on itchiest areas like hind end/ groin.
Try to leave on for 10 mins. Rinse thoroughly & dry well... Good luck 🤞🐶🤞
👋🤠Dr. Jones: if you see this, please let us know how often we should do this (I'm guessing up to 2Xweek) and if it's safe for cats 🐈🐈⬛ (I'm guessing yes as long as you rinse extremely thoroughly so they don't ingest oils when grooming themselves).
I've also seen the video where he recommends using dandruff shampoo (Selsun Blue) and leaving it on for 10 mins. Rinse thoroughly.
My wife always wants me to scratch her Itch.. will this help on her?
You aren’t supposed to use tea tree for dogs.
It's safe for dogs when applied at a two percent dilution or less.
1 cup green tea
Dr. Bonners castile soap 1 TBS
Apple cider vinegar 2 TBS
3 essential oil 5 drops each
-leave on 10 mins then wash
