How do you know how much hair to use in one plug? I'm new to this and am going to do a doll reroot soon!

Well it really depends on the type of hair. If your using nylon then
Try to not put too much hair in one plus. But if your using Saran hair
You can use a bit more. I’m not entirely sure how much exactly but
One you start you’ll get the feel for how much you should put in each
Plug

Can you still re-root a doll that has the neck attached to the head?
I have two questions. Where do you get hair for rerooting? And what glue do you use to glue the hair in place?
American Girl 4 life I know this is pretty late and you probably already figured it out by now but I know there's a video from mozektyo(I think that's how you spell her name) that showed how to make doll hair from yarn....sorry if this isn't helpful....😅

Thats very sweet, thank you. 🥰 I don't have this video anymore as it needs an update but you can make your own by cutting the eye of a needle under an angle (so that it can grab hair strands) and attach it on an exacto knife handle.

A TIP!!! Make sure the head is soft from heating it up with a blow dryers because I've tried it when it wasnt and kept on breaking needles and couldnt get any in the holes at all!!

Hey. Loved the tutorial, but I have a question: what glue are you using? I know that a lot of doll customizers use Fabri-Tac, but I live in a place, where it's really hard to find it.

OMG this was so helpful. Don't know why I didn't think to do a few things you did like glue the large Hank at the tip to prevent hair loss. And rooting near the end to get the full length. Jeez, so obvious, why didn't I do that?? Really great tutorial

Thanks 🤓 this was probably the most helpful tutorial on rerooting I have found so far. I have one question though. When you thatch a part line do you put two hair strands through the same hole plug and then criss cross them? Or do you put them in separate hole plugs and then do the criss crossing? Hope I made sense!
What if the original hair is simply rooted too thin? Can you add hair to the existing plugs or do they all have to be pulled out and redone? Also I noticed part of why its so thin is because there were not nearyl enough holes for the hair to be rooted in , especially on the back side. Can I add holes and plug hair into those gaps?

What is the needle thing she is using called can some one tell me
I’m going to be rerooting a larger doll (Disney Animator’s Collection) and I’m not sure how to secure the hair since I’m not sure if I can remove the head safely or not to glue it. How should I do it instead?
I would recommend making a wig instead if you can't get the doll's head off at all. However, if you can get the head off safely, but you don't think you can use glue, then there are ways of re-rooting that involve sewing instead of glue.

First of all I love your nails and your voice, it sounds so cute and soft. All the dolls you customized look so amazing. My favorite one is your Avea Trotter custom. I also really like the opening and ending of your videos (I dont know to call them but I hope you know what I mean).

- Lindglad - I’ve never used nylon hair so I’m not sure but if you’re making yarn hair I’m pretty sure you need a whole thing of an average size roll for medium length hair. Hope this helps!
are you able to use the yarn sects as hanks instead of wefts?

Some cheaper dolls that don’t really have a brand don’t have as many hair plugs as Monster High Dolls or Barbie Dolls. I was wondering if you use the rerooting tool for making new plugs or something else like a sewing needle? I’m just not too sure and I want to know which one so I don’t have to ruin the doll on accident. Thanks!
