Where was UA-cam when I was a young man? This is the best invention ever for us guys! I hate being at the mercy of a repairman needlessly.
WOW!!! Videos from other channels had me unnecessary backwards troubleshooting. Time consuming. You gave the most obvious and simple fix. Thanx alot!!!!!!
Had to come back on here thank you so much for helping us out! We had 2 service guys out one saying he is not sure. Another saying it is not worth fixing to many other problems. Got it up and running today by clearing the hose!
Thanks bro! This was my exact issue and clearing the pressure switch tube fixed the issue of the lack of spin. Thanks for the easy to follow and concise video!
Dude! I was all set to buy a new washer- until I saw this! I had tried "everything" and figured it had just died- and all I had to do was get rid of some gunk in a tube right in front of my face. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. The kids will have a christmas thanks to you lol- no sitting around the new machine washing clothes on christmas morning. Lifesaver! I hope you feel good about yourself- because you "da man"!!!!!!!!!! did I say THANK YOU?????????
I'd just like to say THANK YOU!! You saved me time, money and a LOT of aggravation with this video. I blew into the hose and it worked immediately. 🤗🤗🤗🤗😙
Thanks for the informational video. 3/25/23 for those that might not be sure if this might fix their problem. My machine wouldn’t drain or spin. It would just keep filling more till water was coming out of somewhere. This fixed it. I bought the part on Amizon for $28. They are all a little different from one another. I had to break my old part off where it clips in to the machine. I didn’t attach the new part till I tried it to see if it worked. Incase I wanted to return it and maybe call someone to fix it. Yeah I it worked. 😊
Awesome! Washer wouldn't drain or go into spin with the tank tub full. I took the tube off of the switch and blew into the switch a couple times. Then I blew into the tube till I heard it bubbling into the tub. Plugged it back in and set it to almost the spin cycle and it started draining and went through the spin cycle. Great advice! Hopefully this will last till I decide to replace this ten year old beast. For anyone wondering I did this to a Whirlpool washer, worked all the same.
Lex just wanted to say thanks for having this channel, you have know idea how much you have help me being knew to the tech world. Keep up the great work.
Nice video, so mine seems to periodically not spin, usually on a heavy load of towels. On a light to medium load it works fine on a heavier load it stops, you open the lid, machine has mostly drained but towels/clothes are soaked and it didn't spin and the spin cycle dial has about a 1/2 inch to go to finish but machine is off. When I rearrange the load, turn timer around 360 degrees to spin and start it, it drains a little more and then spins to finish. I took the cover off and pulled the hose, it wasn't real dirty but I cleaned it with an ice pic, blew the line and the plastic dome reservoir out with air. I heard the switch clicking when I put air in the line. Since it completes the cycle sporadically can I eliminate the timer as a problem? Assuming the line is clean is the switch the only other possible issue? I will try a large load again soon since I just cleaned it just before I posted but I'm assuming it's not the line, will let you know. Thanks!
@@LexVance Thanks for the quick reply. Did another cycle tonight, good size load and when is was full agitator was making a funny noise which I've seen happen recently and didn't mention. I stopped it turned the dial and started again but same result. I then stopped it raised the lid up and down twice and started it and it ran the entire cycle flawlessly. Would a screwy lid switch cause the periodic not spinning problem as well as this funky agitator issue? Also at what point is it not worth fixing if I do have to call the appliance guy, the machine is 7 1/2 years old? Thanks.
THAT'S IT!!! Blowing on that little hose fixed it! There was some gunk in the lower end of the hose that I used a drill bit to pull out before I blew into it. Genius! Thanks so much for this!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I originally tried vinegar and hot water to clear the drain tube, which worked temporarily, but this was the actual solution to my problem! I used a straw brush (or pipe cleaner) to unclog all the gunk in the tube since blowing into it wasn't working. Thanks again!!!
Lex Vance hey I thought once you pull the tube off the flow sensor you have to blow and clinch the tube before pushing it back on you mean I’ve been blowing and holding the tube for nothing 🤔
my machine spins when I put it directly to drain/spin and the timer advances but in regular cycles it won't spin and the timer is also advancing you can hear the clicks to the pressure switch activate. which one would I replace?
I've had some the city water/detergent/chemicals soften the pvc hose and it popped off the nipple at the tub connection. isn't over flowing machines great? luckily most older homes here have unfinished basements and floor drain/sump nearby
Man, you led me to my solution at 2:45 of this video. You ran the spin cycle while using a magnet on the lid switch. I used a strong refrigerator magnet and finally, the agitator spun like crazy. I just need to replace the lid switch. Thank you very much.
Does a similar fix apply for front loaders? My washer is only from 2011 but now is considered "old" while those from 30 yrs ago may still run. It randomly will not spin - usually a 2nd run through fixes it but it seems sometimes its brain is mixed up. Thank you for your information!
I have a hotpoint washer that looks exactly like this one, just up and stopped agitating and spinning. Everything else still works, timer goes all the way. Lid switch engages, checked the tube for the pressure switch also. I hear the motor hum when the timer moves just ahead of the drain and spin setting when it would normally start as if it is trying to but won't. Only thing I can assume is the capacitor is bad and the motor isn't able to get that charge of power to get it spinning or agitating. Just curious if you would think its the capacitor also?
I just order a pressure switch through your link, I'll let you know if that was the problem because I checked the hose like tou showed and it didn't work so I should receive it in 2 days!
Hello, really appreciate the video. Our washer won’t enter the spin cycle. However, if you lift the lid, it will then stop agitating and start the spin cycle. I’ve replaced the timer and lid switch. The timer is remanufactured. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Had a resident whose washer wasnt spinning and the pressure switch fell off because of the lock tabs broke i rigged it to stay on and somehow it started spinning again. Motto i go by is if it aint broke dont fix it ! Lol . I knew the pressure switch controlled the drain but i did not know the pressure switch controls the spin so thankyou lex !
That did the trick. I had a pressure switch on order because the washer was overfilling occasionally but then it stop spinning. I tried this and it worked. The pressure switch is coming this afternoon and I am just going to drop it in. $30.00 bucks not bad for a 2001 GE washer. In the past I had to replace the motor just out of warranty and a couple of years ago the metal hub under the basket but this old baby is still going strong. Thanks for the tip. BTW, I used a pipe cleaner to clean out the end of the hose.
Thank you. I knew it was something simple. The apartment maintenance came over to repair it and said I needed to replace it. They're getting me a new washer. The only reason I tried to learn how to repair it was curiosity.
Hi Lex, I have an Inglis washing machine and the spinning drum is all over the place not firm. I opened it up looks like there is only one spring holding it to the lower frame Vertically should be more than one spring. Or there is something else Please advice me.
Thank you so much for your video. I am narrowing down the possibilities for my problem (machine won't agitate or spin). I checked the pressure switch, lid switch, found that the timer does not advance. Will the timer cause it to not agitate as well as spin?
If its stuck in one place & not advancing to the end, then yes, I'd say the timer is the issue. If it is advancing to the end, then theres other issues. Thank you so much for watching Denise! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
I have a GE washer that is similar to the one in the video. It will work fine for a load or two and then just decide that it doesn't want to spin at the end of a cycle to dry the clothes. I cleaned out the pressure hose earlier today after the unit had been sitting untouched for about two weeks and it worked great for two consecutive loads but then on the third it wouldn't spin during the final rinse/spin cycle. I'm wondering if something might be heating up and just need lubricating to reduce friction? Any suggestions?
After I blow in the pressure switch, it'll work for a load & then won't work. It may be your pressure switch. Hard to tell by not beimg there to look at it with my volt meter. Thank you so much for watching Richard! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Hey man, great vid. Question...my timer is advancing, but not all the way to the end. Probably about 3/4. Do you think the timer could be the issue? I can’t recall if I ever remember seeing the timer go completely into the white. Basically the end. Thanks.
Yea, if the timer is stopping 3/4 of the way through then I'd say the timer is the problem. Thank you so much for watching Clif! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Hey Lex- I'm not sure if you're still fielding questions about this, but I have a somewhat older model GE top loader (WBSR3140D0WW) that is doing everything (including agitation) except for spinning.. and this pressure switch approach didn't seem to fix it. I'm wondering if it could be the motor. Do you have any videos or ideas on how to approach this? I've also tested the lid switch and the capacitor. I tried replacing the timer, and it turned out my replacement had broken during shipping, but since the same thing happened with the new timer (no spinning), it didn't seem to me it was the solution. The timer does progress through the cycle, just no spinning. Any suggestions are welcome!
Weird! Yea, I'd need to be there with my volt meter to see what's going on. A new pressure switch usually does it. You got a head scratcher that's too complicated for UA-cam comment repair.
@@LexVance Thanks Lex. I have a new hypothesis. Think a leaking tub seal (hub seal?) might have washed out the grease from the transmission and brake assembly (ua-cam.com/video/uMueC1dD2gs/v-deo.html). Not sure if this is right, but guess I'll remove it and see if it seems obviously wonky. I did have a leaking seal a couple months ago, and the washer stopped spinning after that..
Great video.. I have a whirlpool top load that runs the same way and the setup is the same, direct drive shaft.. Mine was agitating but not spinning when it reached that cycle. Changed the clutch still didn't spin. Checked the coupler and it was good. With the cabinet off I checked to see if the clutch was spinning when the machine was on, it wasn't. Took off the transmission and manually turned the motor, didn't turn. Decided to go into the transmission. As soon as I set free the plate that covers the transmission, where the oil and gears are, about a cup of water rushed out. So I decided to drain all of the oil that was in the transmission, and half was oil and half water. Cleaned the transmission with kerosine and a clean paint brush, allowed it to dry, topped back up the transmission with 16oz oil and assembled the machine.. Machine is now perking, agitating, spinning and working like brand new.. Before this episode I had to change the tub, upper and lower shaft seals due to a leak. I guess what happened was water leaked into the transmission causing the gears to slip.
I like your post. Can you give me some insight as to why, my washer won't spin during a regular cycle? After I reset the motor - unplug for a minute, lift and close lid 6 times in less than 15 seconds, I can hear the motor clutch lock in and it begins spinning. I have to do this for every load. I replaced the lid switch already. Also, I have a question about the water pressure tubing. On the tub, there is a plastic container where the water pressure hose connects to. Should there be about an inch of water in it? I await your expert advice on the GE washer.
Hello sir. It appears that my washer pressure is different from the one you showed. And I purchased it already. Can you help me find the right one please?
Hey lance I had a GE washing machine not spinning and it turned out to be that capacitor on the right front side of the washing machine. It was about half way up on the right front of the machine.
Pull the front cover off it's a black cylinder about 3inches length with 2 wires in the bottom of it on the right side of the machine. About half way up on the right
My GE washer agitates and drains fine but doesn't spin so I checked the belt and capacitor and they looked fine. So found out clutch would be problem but while replacing it I found clutch doesn't have a clip and I tried pushing clutch down to remove it but didn't work. How can I remove the clutch please help?
Hey Lex I replaced the switch and it still not spinning. The timer is advancing and it sounds like it's spinning but it's not. A while back you told me how to bypass the lid safety switch so I can work with the lid open. GE heavy duty super capacity plus washer. It does drain. Help please.
I have a top loader ge washer..it fills with water n spins for a few minutes but stops washing ...any suggestions on what to do to fix it ...thank you...ezequiel
Thank you for this informative video. I used my air pressure hose to remove what appeared to be debris in my water level tube. I also pushed a little air into the plastic reservoir that fills and releases the water on the side of the wash tub you show in this video. The washing machine is spinning out as it should; I also think that the debris in the tube was affecting the level of the water going into the washing tub. The water wasn't reaching its maximum level for the "Large" cycle and now I think that won't be an issue going forward.
So how about if it spins only sometimes, seems only lightweight loads will spin. Tried wash a cotton blanket, very heavy wet and it also wouldn’t spin BUT after a push start, it spins normal
Hmmmm after you help it then it starts to go tells me a motor issue. I could be wrong but if it was anything else, it wouldn't go at all. Even with a push. Could be the blanket is too heavy as well. Hard to tell by not being there. Thank you so much for watching J! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
nice job lex...this is why i do not like shutting down whole buildings to fix plumbing issues....toilet fill valves..aerators and things like this get clogged and cause problems havoc.
working shlub They sure can! One little piece of lent in a pressure switch hose can cause thousands of dollars in damage & clean up fees. Thank you so much for watching working shlub! Www.dirtymaintenancenation.com
Hmmm, that's a tough one since I'm not in front of it. Could be the transmission. I've had to replace a lot of them in the past. I'm sure there's a UA-cam video on how to do it. I don't have a video on that yet since I haven't had to do one in years.
Same! Just did mine today. Does the wash cycle and hits the final spin no problem. No more soggy clothes when you think they’re ready to dry! Awesome vid.
Our sensor isn’t able to monitor our washer, we’ve done that a few times and we have a newer model with the digital controls. How can you fix the pressure switch in the new digital version? Do you have a video for that?
Lex Vance we actually detached the sensor on the bottom end for the second time and put a safety pin in the machine side and it’s worked since then idk 🤷♀️
Lex, I have a 70 series Kenmore washer that will only go into the rinse and spin cycles by manually turning the knob which woks only some of the time. My lid switch has been bypassed so it's not that. My hose is clean so i don't think it's that. Does this issue sound like a timer problem? The timer goes all the way through the cycle but when you lift the lid that washer is full of water. Right know i can force the spin cycle by turning the knob to spin and forcing it on. Need some help!!
Robert Louis Hmmmm, that's a tough one by not physically being there looking at it. If timer advances to the end on its own then it sounds like timer is good. Maybe pressure switch is broken & telling washer that there's no water in it so it never agitates. Just a guess though. Thank you so much for watching Robert! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Thank u Lex for this video, turns out that was the problem to my washer. I blew in the hose, now does it matter how many times u blow in it? I only did it a few times.
camron626 No just one good blow into it will work. If it happens again though, you'll need to replace the pressure switch. Thank you so much for watching Camron! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
I seen there was alot of build up in the tube. I just took the tube out and got all that gunk build up out. give it more life. again thank u Lex I would have never of figured it out if it wasn't for ur video.
Ok since my last post I have realized that my timer knob doesn’t move at all. So should I replace the timer dial (knob)? If the timer doesn’t move could that be the reason it runs over with water? All of the cycles work if I manually advance (turn) the timer knob by hand. Now for the next part. Where can I buy GE replacement parts for my machine? I’ll Google it but if anyone knows a good link please help me out ok. Thanks T
GeorgeBonez If the timer is not moving to the end on it's on, then yes I'd replace it. Sounds like it's bad. Also, click on the gray arrow under the video & look in the video description below. It has part links you can click on. Then, you can search around until you find a match & buy the parts on Amazon. Thank you so much for watching George! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Lex Vance I removed the old timer to get the correct PN and have ordered a new one. I’ll let you know how it goes in a couple of days. Thanks again for all of your great help. :)
Lex, if you blow in the tube, hear the clicking, re-assemble, and the problem continues (pump runs, all water out, no transition to spin), should I just assume it's the pressure-switch?
Didn't work for mine but thanks for posting. With my timer in the "spin" area of the dial, I can blow on the hose and hear the click of the switch up top and the transmission/motor/pulley will jerk like it's wanting to spin, but that's all it does, is jerk. I wish I had a schematic and logic diagram I could follow so I could see which wires are connected when that air switch operates. I'd also like to know how opening up that clear hose to atmospheric air pressure (when the tub drains down that is what is happening) the switch is operated. I have to blow in by mouth about 2-5 psi over atmospheric to get the switch to click.
Do a motor reset unplug the washer for 1 minute plug it back in and open and close the lid 6 times fast that will reset motor usually associated with "jerking" you describe
I have a weird issue where the bottom of my machine's Agitator won't spin during the Spin cycle, it just goes back/forth rapidly...this leads to the clothing in there catching onto it and, for bigger loads, it causes the entire machine to stutter and stop working altogether (momentarily). I'm sure it's because the machine was overloaded, and I recently replaced the agitator dogs which makes it work better but it's still having this issue and I'm not sure how to fix it exactly. The rest of the cycles work well for the most part, but any time I wash/rinse I have to adjust my clothes and push them to the edge of the drum/tuck them under the agitator so they don't catch. I'd love to go back to machine-washing without having to micro-manage my machine so any help would be appreciated! ♥
@@LexVance No worries, I think it could be either the transmission or something in the brake system. But either way I think I might just have to play it safe and call someone lol, thanks for the reply ^^
I have a GE select washing machine and it will agitate fine, but it won't spin out. When I blow into the tube, I can hear the switch and the agitator clunks like something is binding. How can the transmission be bad if it agitates? Thanks
Pull the agitator up & see if somethings caught under it. It should pull right up. Put fingers underneath & pull up. Its hard to tell when I'm not in front of it. Also, look on top of the motor & see if there's a light blinking on top of the circuit board. The newer washers will give an error code & tell you what's wrong. Google "error codes" for your specific washer if it has it. Thank you so much for watching Joseph! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
@@LexVance , update- I popped the agitator out and now I know why it wouldn't spin. The tub underneath the agitator is corroded through the metal. The previous owner must have left some caustic liquid sitting in there for a while. Oh well! Thanks again! Time for some Scooby snacks!
I replaced the pressure switch and hose on mine and still having the same issue, its an old GE, error light blinks 7 times. I think that error light indicates bad lid switch but I'm not 100% sure the switch shows about 300ohm resistance when closed and 400 when open. I'm not very knowledgable on appliance repair so I figured I'd start asking for assistance wherever I can.
Hi Lex Vance, my washer is Kenmore sears 100, I tried to put it down yesterday , I found the thin pipe is blocked. I can't blow it. What should I do? Need an air gun to clear it? My washing machine is new, less than a year, it always stop at “wash” circle ,I tried "motor reset ",it worked good (complete) only once, then stop at "wash" as usual ... the repairman said that the water is too slow.
Xiaoqing Chen Get a coat hanger & run it up the tube as far as you can & clean it out. Should be good after that. Thank you so much for watching Xiaoqing! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Yep, they get stuck. I just replace them if I have to blow into them & get them unstuck. Thank you so much for watching Don! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Replaced pressure switch, still won't spin with a load in but will spin on empty test run. Also has a burning smell when trying to spin with full load. Any other suggestions?
Is it possible for the hose to be partially plugged in such a way so that the tub fills to the right level correctly but when the tub drains the spin never starts? That's what's making me crazy, I can't figure out what tells the spin cycle to start. What my GE WCXR1070T5AA does is the drain pump pumps forever down to the bottom and then just is pumping air (I think this is normal). The tub never spins because some how the controller thinks it's still pumping out water that's not there
@@LexVance But the load level function works correctly (when set to "small load" it fills to small and stops, etc), I'd think if the hose was blocked the tub would overfill. So you think it's possible for the load water level to detect correctly but it can fail at detecting that the tub is dry?
@@LexVance I blew in the hose, I hear the expected water level switch click (actually I expected three different clicks for the three load sizes but it just clicks one time... not sure how it tells the difference between the three load sizes if the switch only clicks one time)
Did a extra small test load (empty with no clothes), now it worked to the very end, all I did was the blow in the hose to confirm the switch would click. Maybe that fixed it. Thanks
My GE won't spin. Just makes clanking noises and moves back and forth a little. . I put a magnet on the lid switch so I can have the door open. I gave the tumbler a little push and now it's working. What could the problem be?
Weird. If you have to help the motor, it may be going bad. If it was something else it would be totally dead. Hard to tell by not being there. Thank you so much for watching College Debt! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
My GE doing the same thing not spinning it keeps going into error codes 16 &18. It drains properly but won’t go into spin cycle. It’s a HE one so the cover is not easy to get off. Any advice on how to fix these codes?
You can Google "error codes" for your washer & you should get the answers. That's how I got the error codes for the GE washers I work on. Thank you so much for watching Darci! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Lex Vance so we entered in service mode and it said it was due to a clog somewhere..we have literally disconnected every tube and no kinks or holes even to the main drain.
Hey i have a maytag 4000 series that leaves the clothes wet and last time i notice it shut off at the 11 minute mark. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks
Steven Flores If the timer stops in mid-wash, & doesn't go all the way to the end, I'd say you have a bad timer. Thank you so much for watching Steven! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
When my kenmore starts the spin cycle, it sounds like it's running but the basket stays still. If I open the top (which stops the motor) and close it again, everything spins fine. Any idea what might be the culprit? I cleaned out the hose but wanted to check before buying a replacement pressure switch

My washer is starting the spin cycle but it seems to be stopping early. There's no visible water in the tub but the clothes are very wet (sometimes completely soaked) and you can hear water sloshing if you rock the tub. Also, when I opened the front I could see dirty water in the little tank that the pressure sensor hose connects to. Does this sound like a bad pressure switch or something else?
Hmmm that's a tough one to diagnose over UA-cam. Is the timer going all the way to the end? If not, the timers bad. Thank you so much for watching straighttoplaid! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
If it was the lid switch, it wouldn't agitate. It agitated fine, just wouldn't go into spin cycle. That's when I knew it was a bad pressure switch. Thank you so much for watching Peter! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
@@LexVance Hey Lex,, thanks for giving your expertise on the tube. As for the lid switch theory is because when I lift the lid during a spin try, and close the lid it starts to spin. Also, the discharge does dump the water prior to spin but the tub won't spin till i open the lid and close it again. Crazy huh. Washers have sure gotten complicated. 😋
Could be the pressure switch or it could be the lid switch. I'd need to be there with my volt meter to investigate. Thank you so much for watching Pnu! www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com

Well, I’m all the way in NY. But thanks, maybe it’s time to change the machine. It gives me a good run

Thanks!
Yes the timer seems okay . Maybe the pressure switch.
Awesome! Nice fix Msmak!

Lex Vance hey I thought once you pull the tube off the flow sensor you have to blow and clinch the tube before pushing it back on you mean I’ve been blowing and holding the tube for nothing 🤔
after much searching you have the best video on how to repair this problem, thanks so much!
Eddie Manzano Wow Thank you for the kind words Eddie! And Thank you so much for watching !

my machine spins when I put it directly to drain/spin and the timer advances but in regular cycles it won't spin and the timer is also advancing you can hear the clicks to the pressure switch activate. which one would I replace?
Eddie Manzano If timer is advancing all the way to the end, I'd try the pressure switch.
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching Greg!
Does a similar fix apply for front loaders? My washer is only from 2011 but now is considered "old" while those from 30 yrs ago may still run. It randomly will not spin - usually a 2nd run through fixes it but it seems sometimes its brain is mixed up. Thank you for your information!
I'm only familiar with top loaders, sorry. I hope everything works out for you! 🤞
In your video today can you show how to pull down the outer drive drum inside the front panel of the GE top load washer please??

I have a hotpoint washer that looks exactly like this one, just up and stopped agitating and spinning. Everything else still works, timer goes all the way. Lid switch engages, checked the tube for the pressure switch also. I hear the motor hum when the timer moves just ahead of the drain and spin setting when it would normally start as if it is trying to but won't. Only thing I can assume is the capacitor is bad and the motor isn't able to get that charge of power to get it spinning or agitating. Just curious if you would think its the capacitor also?
Yes, if you have a volt meter you can check the microfarads.
Hello Lex question, do you think that if a drain pump does not work, the spinn syclo will not work either, Thank You.
Probably, because the water wouldn't be out of the tub for it to spin.
I just order a pressure switch through your link, I'll let you know if that was the problem because I checked the hose like tou showed and it didn't work so I should receive it in 2 days!
Right on! Thank you so much for watching!
Hello, really appreciate the video. Our washer won’t enter the spin cycle. However, if you lift the lid, it will then stop agitating and start the spin cycle. I’ve replaced the timer and lid switch. The timer is remanufactured. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Yikes. I would need to be there for this head scratcher. 🤔

Hi Lex, I have an Inglis washing machine and the spinning drum is all over the place not firm. I opened it up looks like there is only one spring holding it to the lower frame Vertically should be more than one spring. Or there is something else Please advice me.
You're right. There's a loose spring some where. You'll need to find it & reconnect it. Thank you so much for watching sindhi!
This is so helpful! I would try it but I am not “builder/fixer” savvy so I’ll have my husband check it out. Thank you so much!

Hey lex i have a question i have a kenmore washer and it wont go pass the the wash cycle can you give me any suggestions i greatly appreciate it
Could be a bad timer. If the timer is not advancing and stopping in the middle of a wash then it's a bad timer.
Lex is this a universal part? Mine has a different connection it's a 2 wire and a separate red wire. 2004 washer part no. 175D2290po.
This part is for a GE washing machine. Different brands will look different. Thank you so much for watching Randy!

Thank you for the prompt reply!
Just making memories 😂. Thank you so much for watching Jerry!
thanks again for another DIY i learn a lot. keep on Lex.🙏👍

Is it a GE washing machine?
@@LexVance Yes, it is a GE Washer. Is it the motor coupler?
Another question I have is the plastic container that the water pressure tube connects to on the tub itself, should that have water in it?
I appreciate any guidance you can provide. Thanks!
@@LexVance any help in solving my problem?

My GE washer agitates and drains fine but doesn't spin so I checked the belt and capacitor and they looked fine. Lol when I got done I thought to myself “this guy just saved me $250 bucks” ...

Hi Lex,
My washing machine spin still works but it doesn't spin in a high gear. What do you think the problem is?
Thanks...
Hmmm, that's a tough one since I'm not in front of it. Could be the transmission. I've had to replace a lot of them in the past. I'm sure there's a UA-cam video on how to do it. I don't have a video on that yet since I haven't had to do one in years.
Thanks, mine was clogged, had to actually cut part of the hose. $0 fix, winning!!!

No I sure don't. You got a head scratcher there.
Do you hear any noise when it supposed to be in rinse and spin cycle?
Thank u Lex for this video, turns out that was the problem to my washer. I blew in the hose, now does it matter how many times u blow in it? I only did it a few times.
camron626 No just one good blow into it will work. If it happens again though, you'll need to replace the pressure switch. Thank you so much for watching Camron!

GeorgeBonez You're welcome man! Keep me posted!
Lex, if you blow in the tube, hear the clicking, re-assemble, and the problem continues (pump runs, all water out, no transition to spin), should I just assume it's the pressure-switch?
Yep, That's where I'd start.
Thank you so much for watching ice!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
Sounds like you got a head scratcher there.

I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.
@@LexVance No worries, I think it could be either the transmission or something in the brake system. But either way I think I might just have to play it safe and call someone lol, thanks for the reply ^^
I blew into the hose and heard the click but the washer still didn’t spin? Could it just be a bad pressure switch?
Yes, I've had bad switches that still clicked.
@@LexVance , thanks for the reply. It's an older model, so no circuit board. I'll give it a try on the agitator. 🤙
Lid switch is common.

The tub never spins because some how the controller thinks it's still pumping out water that's not there
Could be. Blow it out & see.
Thanks

Any idea what might be the culprit? I cleaned out the hose but wanted to check before buying a replacement pressure switch
Kenneth Coleman Man I don't know that's weird. I would need to be there. Its hard to diagnose over UA-cam comments. Thank you so much for watching Kenneth!

Hey dude,,same exact problem. I believe the lid switch is the problem there. Because as u say lift the lid and close it and its a go.
I have the same problem. I will push the knob in and pull it out, and it starts spinning. It's like it doesn't engage spin sometimes.
I have hydro wave ge washer top load the motor code flashes 6 times according to the chart that means locked door it says to free the system. I tried everything thing, nothing works. The machine won’t agitate nor spin. Any help?
Try unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. Sometimes a reset works. If not, I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.
Hey there is crap in the plastic box that hose hooks to. How do I'm romeve and clean it?
I use a paper clip & wipe it with a napkin. Thank you so much for watching Mike!

I checked the pressure switch for continuity, and it checked out ok (according to another video). Could it still be bad?
XenomorphLV426 Yea, the pressure switch in this video would work for a bit & then stop. So it had continuity. Thank you so much for watching Xeno!

How can you tell if it's the pressure switch or the lid switch? Same symptoms right? Thanks.
If it was the lid switch, it wouldn't agitate. It agitated fine, just wouldn't go into spin cycle. That's when I knew it was a bad pressure switch. Thank you so much for watching Peter!

Question washing machine is indicating spin but it's still not spinning what kind can the problems still be
Could be the pressure switch or it could be the lid switch. I'd need to be there with my volt meter to investigate. Thank you so much for watching Pnu!
