I was there that week. I was there the week they set the attendance record for Blossom the year before. I was at one of the New Year's Eve shows at the Coliseum. I'm pretty sure I was there the next year for the "You Can't Fight Fashion" concert, and I was even at the Cleveland Municipal Stadium parking lot concert in 1984. I also was at and photographed a charity softball game the band did with the WMMS All-Stars in 1983 (the late Jane Scott from the PD played in that game!). I don't know why they didn't make it nationally, they were every bit as good as any national act and better than many. The last time I saw them was at a reunion concert at Blossom in 1992, also the last time I was in Blossom. RIP Michael, Cleveland will never see the like again.
Got to see Donnie Iris open for these guys way back in the day in Canton. Saw alot of bands at Blossom and Richfield Coliseum. Havent been home since the 80's. I especially miss WMMS. Radio around here sucks. In the words of Kid Leo on Friday at 6:00, "Later people!"
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I was backstage, front stage, side stage, all the while singing almost as loud as the bands sensational singers. But I could NEVER play air guitar as good as Gary!! This is a brilliant visual document showcasing the power and brilliance of this band.
