Great Dog Grooming Knife from Remington. That Knife could actually be a hair trimming comb blade. The big one for large dogs and little one for small dogs. Maybe like when the dogs hair gets matted up. You can comb it through and cut it out??? I don't know just a thought 🤔
It's a dog's hair coat stripper knife. When they put on the winter coat. Then start shedding, this knife is to help strip the shedding coat. Pretty Cool 😊
Thanks for sharing this.
For the last couple months this has been the best part of my day👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome!! Thank you!!
🎉10k subscribers 🎉! Awesome Doc! Congrats on 10k subscribers and I really like all the survival equipment! Good Job Doc
Thank you!!
Awesome gifts! The knives are sweet, the patches are awesome and the survival gear are cool.
Very cool knife. Love the old stuff. It's a nice glimpse into our past.
I too have been inspired by watching your videos. I picked up a belt sander and 3” bench grinder from Harbor Freight and have been doing a little bit of shopping in pawn shops and antique stores. I haven’t tried the flea market yet. The coolest thing that I’ve found in my opinion was a U.S.A. Old Timer 150T with sheath for $25. It had some age and wear on it but the blade and handle was still in great shape and it cleaned up really well( left some patina). I also have enjoyed cleaning up all of my old knives and a few of my dad’s. One thing I have noticed in my area is everyone does their research and tries to get full value or better, but I am enjoying my new hobby.
Awesome!! The 15OT is called the Deer Slayer. Awesome knife! Thanks for watching and so the Channel! Happy Hunting and keep me posted on stuff you find.

Man,knife Dr.on those old pocket knives of most brands like the Remington you just got. Don't you just love how they used to die the bone fore the handle scales. That brown they used to do looks so much richer than the brown of today. I just love the old brown bone and how it looks. Any way so many generous kind people in the world it's really opening my eyes since I started watching your channel. It's really wonderful how giving the majority of people are. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your channel also. Stay safe. Blessings to you.😊
Thank you and thanks for sharing this! The knives of yesterday are better than those of today for sure.

Boy Howdy, I’ve seen many many knives in my 74 years but never saw that Remington knife ever. What a find! I would never have guessed a knife for a dog. Man-O- man. Keep great videos coming. By the way I collect Case MFH knives, Buck, Puma, Boker, Hen&Rooster, Coast, and a few Victorinox knife/tools, and more that I can’t remember right now. I guess I’m knife poor. Keep collecting and pass on down thru family. Thanks.
Thank you!! It is a knife I’ve never seen too. Thanks for watching and God Bless!!
I was wondering if you was going to put out a video today, I been waiting all day.
I’m sorry. It was raining at its loud in my shop.
@@theknifedoctor brother, I'm not complaining, I'm grateful for you and your channel. No apology necessary. God bless

Thanks for the content. Love the dog grooming knife
Thank you!!
I bought a couple of knives a couple years back. I have a Buckmaster 184 that is in new condition never used in the box and I bought a Gerber mark two dagger that is also in new condition in the box
The large case knife you said looked like a sharktooth is a sharktooth. It would have had an emblem on the blade of a shark.
I’m thinking of setting up a edc bag similar to yours a video of everything you have in there would be awesome
Great Idea!!
Man, you’re so close to 10,000 subscribers!!!
Thank you…LOL
Great video doc as usual and cool patch s also I have two sargent pins if you want them I will send them to you
That’s so kind of you!!
Very nice, a joy to watch🙂🔪👍
That's a really cool Remington. Maybe use that blade as a comb? Lol. Good stuff brother!
The pattern number of the Remington Dog Groomer / Dog Stripper is R4733. These specialty blades were likely made by Walter B Stevens & Son. Remington was very prolific in making advertising knives. The blade etch is an advertisement. That company likely gave these knives away to their customers. Case also sold a Dog Groomer knife that was made on the 45 Cattle pattern. The etch on your R4733 is especially clean.
DO NOT take a drink every time he says buddy, unless you wanna die.
LOL!! That’s funny right there. Justin I am. Being real.
Can you please do a video of your collection? Just curious of how many knives you have?
Maybe one day. Good idea for a video.
Awesome mail call I saw a sharpener you should try it's a work. Sharp sharpener an it a hand held belt sander
I have one I’ve never used yet. Got it for Christmas. I don’t have any room in my shop for it yet. LOL
Hello there. Army Iraq vet here. Thank you for your service brother. How do you find the flea markets you go to? Thanks in advance brother. God bless.
Thank you!! Thank you for your service!!
thank you for your service too 💯
The Remington I believe was used by hunters to help debur tangled matter from the long hair of breed's like the Springer Spanle and Golden Retriever
Awesome!! Thanks for sharing this!!
Great point to bring up all i have is a small vice and my porter cable angle grinder straped with plumbers tape to the work bench in substitute for buffing wheel lots of oil and steel whool 😂 it will get ya started.
You so funny…
Git It Doc!😊
Thanks Jerry!!
Sorry to ask but what book is that? Im pretty new to collecting and refurbishing would love to have that for reference
Search for Author Houston Price. Collecting Knives. They made 15 editions. 15th is the best one and it’s the last one made. It was published in 2008. Thanks for reaching out!!
@@theknifedoctor thank you sir i will look into finding one thats not outrageously priced. Hopefully at a used book store or something
Need to pick the Knife Doctor’s brain. I am 47 years old and my Uncle started buying Bullet knives in 82 when they were re-released. He purchase a set for both my brother and I whenever they released a new model. We still collect Remington and Case (with some older knives) this is what we mainly collect along with the Remington posters. With this being said, we live close to a well know knife manufacturer in Alabama and I got a Remington bullet knife prototype from there, from a friend of a friend, that supposedly worked there. The story goes, Remington would reach out to knife manufactures and have them design and build knives for them to choose from or even have them outsourced to them (this was the story I was given). My question to you is, have you ever heard of Remington doing this and if so what type of price would go with a prototype Bullet knife? Would love to hear your feedback.
I do know the Old Remington Factory was Bought out by PAL in 1940. DuPont got control of the factory in 1933. So, Remington hasn’t made a true Remington since 1933. I don’t know who owns the rights to the trademark now, but Bears & Sons does make a lot of knives of different brands today. I wouldn’t know much about the value of them.
I enjoy the video's 🍁Ontario 🇨🇦
Thank you!!
Can't control the weather. I was thinking them blades might be for trimming hair around face but could be nails. If you find out more let us know
The blades on the grooming knife are for the fur on blade edge and nail file on the side, it’s for more (shaggy) dogs and can help remove matted fur, cheers Doc.
Thank you!!
Comb/shedding blades, pull out undercoat.
Semper Fi.
Semper-Fi!!
what is the oldest knife in your collection?
Not sure…
That case lockback looks like xx changer that blade is removable
Oh wow. I’ll have to look into that.
Detangler and hair stripping for loose shedding hair
Thanks for sharing this!!
It's blades are used to comb and cut hair.
Thank you!
CAN YOU SAY 10,000.....? ❤🎉😊
I know…I can’t believe it.
@theknifedr-edc And before the Summer too! ☀️ I knew it was going to happen before then. I predicted by this Summer last year. If you remember? Then you go and beat it by almost 3 months... Awesome Kevin 👌🏻 👏🏼 👍🏻
It's for cutting hair
Where does one buy Zippo flints and lighter fluid??
Zippo. Their website.
I've found both at smoke shops where they sell vaping stuff.
I think that is what's called a stripping knife, dog groomers use them for wire hair terriers. It'll be sharp in between the teeth and they use it like a comb too trim the hair. I used to have an open razor style one for humans, though i was never brave/stupid enough to use it. 👍
the ferrule has been on the Opinel since 1955, not on the 1 which no longer exists, 2,3,4,5 just from n°6
You are correct!! I read one time and got it confused. It was the 90’s where they modified it to be able to lock the knife in the closed position. Thanks for the clarification and correction!!
@@theknifedoctor MODIFIED for the last time in 2000 i live a 3 km of the manufacture opinel!
@@patricegarnierlobo25111967 awesome!! Thank you for watching from France!! I love the Opinel knives!! Simply made but very well made!

I sent you a reply email about trading for the camilus navy knife that needs a handle
Ok. I’ll look at it. Thank you!
Is the auction for a charity?
Yes. Tunnels to towers.
Actually pulls dead hair.
Don’t use God’s name in vain, it’s call blasphemy, which violate one of the Ten Commandments
When did I use his name in vain? Oh My God?? Is that what you’re referring too? If so, that’s not blasphemy….you’re also not supposed to judge anyone. 🙉🙈🙊
Yes and is bad
