Jimmy DeGrasso is a drummaster!!!!! he plays absolutely great, i think his must keep on Megadeth after The world needs a Hero!!! my god Rude Awakening dvd is a demonstration of his fantastic talent and technique!! very skilled drummer!!!
It reminds me when Billy Corgan (who I dont really like) said in an interview that the guitar is boring (paraphrasing), everything that can be done has already been done he said... it blew me away how an "artist" can claim everything is done, or even METAL as a genre is "gun metal gray". The solution is to play metal with color and break the mold... not give up and then condemn the whole genre. He is only projecting his own lack of innovation on the entire genre. Creativity is alive in metal IMO
I meant I dont see much creativity coming out of Marty since Marty left megadeth. Megadeth has defintely been more creative even after he left, the problem is Marty just never was too creative in his solo work in my opinion. Was amazing with megadeth though!
@nomadic30 Not exactly, famous metal bands were the ones who went downhill at the late 90's. but for example, Judas Priest still released some really good material with Ripper Owens, and some bands, especially Power Metal bands like Helloween or Gamma Ray were at their peak with albums like Better than Raw or Powerplant, and also, there's Death, which released what probably are some of the best albums in the history of the genre
@nomadic30 What ? Every single band that came on stage had a blast, and it was a pretty good time for music if you ask me. Just look at KoRn woodstock 99, they tore the place up.
@INSFAN86 When Metallica fired Mustaine he created Megadeth... he was the second soloist guitarrist in Metallica (the first one was a black dude, I didn't remember his name), then Metallica called Hammett and he joined the band Everybody knows it man...
@AzBombzEngineer I tend to agree with you.. Cacophony was amazing.. Speed Metal Symphony and The Ninja are unbelievable.. some of Brodericks stuff is quite inspiring though (his Classical work is worth looking up).. that said I think that Marty is a much better writer who adds something more to a song than Chris can manage.. I will say however to kinda contradict myself that Chris can follow behind Marty and match what Marty wrote note for note live which is impressive
Broderick and Lomenzo are awesome. I agree with Ellefson and Friedman are unreplaceable, but the new line up is good too. I saw them live in june 2008 and sounded really good. Broderick is the best guitarist since Friedman left Megadeth
@AIC2374 It's all good man. I don't care if they cut their hair or not, ]V[ e g a d e t ]-[ is an awesome band, I just find it funny no one ever criticized them for cutting their hair like Metallica.
@AzBombzEngineer this will sound odd I guess.. but Broderick on stage reminds me of the Bruce Kulick days of Kiss.. they called him the tree cuz he was rooted in place.. if you go back to the '92 live stuff with Friedman you can compare him on stage playing the same music.. sure Broderick can 'play' it but it's obvious he's just playing the music.. it was Marty's music and you could tell he cared more about the songs than Broderick does.. I'm not knocking him either he's pretty solid
@TodayAt420 he was an alcoholic not a crack head...and he worte alot of the songs on kill em all....but im not meaning anything bad by that...i love both bands
how could marty put a metal feel into a metal song if he doesnt like metal in this recording he totally fucks up bad the new lead player is the best dave has ever gotten to play with him
@MegaMave I'd have to disagree. I think Marty is a great player, but to me Chris is just as good, if not better. Watching him play Marty's solos is fantastic in it's own, but he hasn't had a lot of chance to "prove" himself, if you will, with his own solos. His solo in Public Enemy 1 is very sweet as well.
anybody else find it funny that at woodstock, a historcial peace festival, megadeth was the last band to play, they started the set with holy wars and ended it with peace sells but whose buying, 2 yrs b4 9/11
@nomadic30 long live to IRON MAIDEN!!! my life exists thanks to Iron Maiden, the gods of metal, dudeeeee cant wait to see them live here in north america so fucking soon `m/
@w0y1z92753 im sorry to burst your bubble but Mustaine wrote the majority of Metallicas songs and bascially got them to the "spotlight" but the Hammet came in and used his ideas as well as Metallica ripping from a lot of Mustaines stuff after he was kicked. But personally i think Metallica is dying out their music sounds nothing like it use to and Megadeth is suprisingly still going strong (no where near like they use to though) but yeah im glad that he was kicked too but only to form Megadeth.
when was dave in metallica? was it before they put out a major label album? i can only remember hetfield on any of metallica's songs. then again i am not a die-hard metallica fan so idk someone help me!!!
@Met6661982 You see at least 1000 comments like this on every Megadeth or Metallica video, my 1 comment dosen't make any diffrence, both bands are awesome.
Can anyone tell me what that song is that's playing in the beginning before they start shredding? It sounds familiar but I can't place it and it's driving me fucking NUTS lol
Jimmy DeGrasso is a drummaster!!!!! he plays absolutely great, i think his must keep on Megadeth after The world needs a Hero!!! my god Rude Awakening dvd is a demonstration of his fantastic talent and technique!! very skilled drummer!!!
Dude megadeth ftw! Drunk, sober, high, or low, Dave always brings the force!
god damn mustaine is incredible
Long life to Dave!!
They killed it....best Holy Wars performance Ive seen on here
wow, mustaine sang it flawlessly! amazing!

fav megadeath song....this album is badass
Damn, daves voice is really good here.
this was a really really good performance of this song!
Fuck me! ive been surfing through lots of woodstock 99 videos now and omg what a lineup they had back then :D
excellent lineup, excellent band, excellent song
Megadeth rules! Gonna go see them next week in biloxi, ms.
Love the begining! :D "Good Evening" BAAAAM!
No way, Dave's a BEAST! he can't play that way, and he even sings!!!
Death metal, being largely underground at the time, still helped keep metal alive throughout the 90's.
It reminds me when Billy Corgan (who I dont really like) said in an interview that the guitar is boring (paraphrasing), everything that can be done has already been done he said... it blew me away how an "artist" can claim everything is done, or even METAL as a genre is "gun metal gray". Dave's voice is GREAT here!
kickass band and kickass song
what the hell! i cannot believe Marty Friedman actually played the clean solo like that
@ulizinho The first half is about the holy wars in the middle east. and the second half is about the punisher
Yeah totally awesome :D
Grande Jimmy DeGrasso
@wwethomas2008 right on man. the toronto show is sold out and the tickets super-expensive too. enjoy the show
wow what a performance, this why METALLICA is on the rock n roll HALL OF FAME
Long live Megadeth
one of the few performences that the people werent running into each other face first they actually paid attention to it!
Damn the Mustaine solo was awesome in this :)
@11DNA11
Yeah it's understandable.
I personally love both.
I meant I dont see much creativity coming out of Marty since Marty left megadeth. Megadeth has defintely been more creative even after he left, the problem is Marty just never was too creative in his solo work in my opinion. Was amazing with megadeth though!

God, this is such a killer, KICK-ASS song....especially from 3:09 on. Ahh, the old days, when metal was FUKIN METAL!!!
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! :')
@INSFAN86 He was kicked out right before Kill 'Em All came out.
what would this world be without megadeth
@INSFAN86
When Metallica fired Mustaine he created Megadeth... he was the second soloist guitarrist in Metallica (the first one was a black dude, I didn't remember his name), then Metallica called Hammett and he joined the band
Everybody knows it man...

@jackbrez22 just because his tastes changed doesnt mean he hated it.
It's still we the people right!
MEGA TIL DETH!!
Broderick and Lomenzo are awesome. I agree with Ellefson and Friedman are unreplaceable, but the new line up is good too. I saw them live in june 2008 and sounded really good. Broderick is the best guitarist since Friedman left Megadeth
MARTY FRIEDMAN
@MetallicaFREAK236 dunno if he messed it up.. Marty improvises a lot, maybe thats why it sounds different
@liquifex, He is influenced by Friedman. Obviously you can hear that on Endgame
sick
@squeezeslemons
It's at times like this I take my hand up my face and press my hand except for my thumb over my nose and the thumb over my ear.
...Good Evening...>BAAMMMMMM!!
@AIC2374
It's all good man. I don't care if they cut their hair or not, ]V[ e g a d e t ]-[ is an awesome band, I just find it funny no one ever criticized them for cutting their hair like Metallica.
Probably the last time his vocals would sound so good lol. His vocals now are good too but I prefer these
It happens to everyone. Especially live.
la mata de mustaine nunca morira
@chunkyboy90 Dave didn't cut his hair and he is the only one that matters
@AzBombzEngineer this will sound odd I guess.. but Broderick on stage reminds me of the Bruce Kulick days of Kiss.. they called him the tree cuz he was rooted in place.. if you go back to the '92 live stuff with Friedman you can compare him on stage playing the same music.. sure Broderick can 'play' it but it's obvious he's just playing the music.. it was Marty's music and you could tell he cared more about the songs than Broderick does.. I'm not knocking him either he's pretty solid
i love the song just before megadeth come on XD motley crue- till death do us part =) this performance is incredible
Chris is a good guitarist, Marty is a phenomenal musician.
Dave's tone resembles the original studio tone the most in this version
@TodayAt420 he was an alcoholic not a crack head...and he worte alot of the songs on kill em all....but im not meaning anything bad by that...i love both bands
megadeth against war !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ColtinNotChicken But of course he did return, and then was fired again... but this was after '97
check-out some of the work chris broderick did with jeff loomis and what they had going with nevermore.
Marty was great like thee band he played
yeah
"Good Evening"
Great song frakked up around 4:00
I meant sales wise =)
oh yeah muito foda esse riff
how could marty put a metal feel into a metal song if he doesnt like metal in this recording he totally fucks up bad the new lead player is the best dave has ever gotten to play with him
@SolidSnake090 ,Hetfield,Ulrich,Hammet,Newsted and Trujillo
wow, imagine woodstock 69 with megadeth....wow wow woooow !!!
Dave has to remember to change his pajamas in the morning
Haha Dave has the coolest farmers tan
@MegaMave i disagree. I saw Chris last year, and he really enjoys his role.
@ColtinNotChicken I did read his book, but I must have forgotten that detail... but yeah, jimmy was less of an asshole, for sure
anybody else find it funny that at woodstock, a historcial peace festival, megadeth was the last band to play, they started the set with holy wars and ended it with peace sells but whose buying, 2 yrs b4 9/11
I want Marty's guitar!!!
@nomadic30 Thats right, Iron Maiden saved it with Pantera.
At 2:52 Marty looks like if he was saying "Take that bitches!!!" Anyways very good performance.
@chunkyboy90
That's because they didn't cutted the metal...
@jackbrez22 i heard that too. i just dont get why he audtioned in the first place if he doesnt like metal
@nomadic30 long live to IRON MAIDEN!!! my life exists thanks to Iron Maiden, the gods of metal, dudeeeee
cant wait to see them live here in north america so fucking soon `m/
@MrMatt29999 Yeah it does.
@MetallicaFREAK236 OH MY GOD MARTY MESSED UP THE SOLO!!! OHH HE IS HUMAN!!
@w0y1z92753 im sorry to burst your bubble but Mustaine wrote the majority of Metallicas songs and bascially got them to the "spotlight" but the Hammet came in and used his ideas as well as Metallica ripping from a lot of Mustaines stuff after he was kicked. @METALLICAa7xOZZY Yeah dude...totally messed up that change over into "Punishment Due". It totally lost its middle eastern feel...
when might a concert on the endgame tour end please help i need this info
1999, megadeth was going through a serious image crisis lol.
when was dave in metallica? was it before they put out a major label album? i can only remember hetfield on any of metallica's songs. then again i am not a die-hard metallica fan so idk someone help me!!!
@MrAsymmetriphobia yeah and their awesome but it just wasn't peaceful like '69. It was more metal and super hype than a melo chill vibe
I like chris broderick, hes really fucking awesome no doubt but still I liked the Rust in Peace lineup the best with Marty Friedman
@Stick9512
True that
@Met6661982 You see at least 1000 comments like this on every Megadeth or Metallica video, my 1 comment dosen't make any diffrence, both bands are awesome.
Can anyone tell me what that song is that's playing in the beginning before they start shredding? It sounds familiar but I can't place it and it's driving me fucking NUTS lol
@wwethomas2008 naw its probably going to be grind core or hip hop
God evening.
