@Evilhyuuga10 Queen is a rock band but they have metal songs dude. Stone Cold Crazy is a thrash metal song. It wasn't labeled that when it first came out because thrash didn't exist yet. hence it is a precurser.

I am fairly certain he was off of that stuff by 1999, however I just picked up a copy of his autobiography, wherein he mentions that he was popping a lot of pills in the early 2000's. I have not gotten very far yet, and don't know whether or not he was still doing the really hard stuff, but that is what I've read so far.

He is that much more technically precise and that much more complete. Mustaine is great for Megadeth and metal in general but Marty can play in ANY fucking band in the world, genre notwithstanding.

I've worn Marty's pick ever since I caught it at a Megadeth show in highschool and I'm a huge Cacophany and Megadeth fan but I met Marty when he had short hair and I have to say that his new JAP POP look bugs me much more....The band isn't the same without him.

All Megadeth's second Guitarist kick-ass. Dave doesn't hire "slouchess". I've seen Megadeth at Papagios (night club in MIlwaukkee,Wi.) for Peace Sells and of course it kicked-ass. And the duel guitar attack is very old school it is not gay. Look at Maiden . End of story.
@KirkyStu I agree that Chris is a more well rounded guitarist than Marty.. And there is alot of stuff he can do that Marty cant. But there is one thing he cant do... Play like Marty! I like Chris and he is definitely the most skillful guitar player Megadeth has ever had - but i would trade him for Marty any day!
That's what i wanted to say...He wanted to play pop and Dave wanted to play metal...But i can't see any reason why he got bored of metal...He is such a very good guitarist and his departure was a big loss for Megadeth
