If you're interested, look up Marvel Earth 98. It's a version of the Marvel Universe in which everyone ages in real time according to their appearance in time.
I like it too, but I can also understand why comics don't have their heroes actually get older in the main continuity. They want them to stay immortal. If you let heroes age they will get old and eventually die and when you have a character as popular as Spider-Man or Superman, it makes no economic sense to get rid of them because of age or death. But another part of be thinks that maybe it's for the best. Something like a flower or life itself is beautiful not because it's permanent, but because it's temporary and that give even more reason to appreciate the beauty. Perhaps we should let older heroes pass on, give them happy endings and let new heroes take their place. And it's not like the old stories will be lost, they will always be available for new fans to discover and enjoy them many years after. Not to mention how recycling the same old material often leads to creative bankruptcy. Any fan of a long running franchise knows what it's like when companies can't stop beating a dead horse. Even worse for long running characters is that there's a huge risk of new writers not understand said characters and completely assassinating everything that character stood for. Fans would much rather have a character die and be at peace than alive and act nothing like they are supposed to. It's very painful to watch a character you love act completely out of character. (I'm a big Star Wars fan, so you can probably guess what character comes immediately to my mind for this specific example.) Not to mention if you let old heroes die you force writers to create new heroes to take their place. Imagine that, creators forcing themselves to actually create! It would also lead to a richer universe because now there would be an established history and different eras of heroes. Sorry for going so long, but I just see many pros and cons but can't help but think the pros of aging superheroes outweigh the cons. After all, letting heroes dies or retire give them and ending, and what is the point of any story unless you give it an ending?
I think a better description is most tragic or sad because I've seen way weirder than the Spiderman comics but no comic can make me cry as much as a Spiderman comic
Man, those movies were so stupid. And unforgettably cheesy. And absolutely amazing! Spectacular, even! They had their flaws, but Maguie, Simmons, Molina, Dafoe and Harris were tremendously great! Honourable mentions for Grace, who, bless his heart, did his best!
This reminds me of 90s spiderman cartoons when the something happens to Mary Jane. After marrying MJ Peter would later find out she was a clone and the real one is still missing after his battle whit the original green goblin on the bridge. Even to this day it still heartbreaking to watch. 90s spiderman cartoons is one the best written heroes toons around and in my opinion no spiderman cartoon after it has yet to come close to matching how well written this show really is.
Peter had married a clone of gwen stacy and they should have kids before peter find out that gwen was clone. I mean Scott married jean grey clone and have a child. Peter and a clone gwen should have child
In some ways the clone is still Gwen she has all of her memories but, just not the true one. Peter's life just got as messed up as Scott Summers early love life.
@@jonathancraddock1810 I don't know dude. I guess Identity is far more complex that just having characteristics of someone is about essence and originality. Hence a clone is not good enough perhaps that's why clone sometimes concur in having new experience, they know that what they are is not of their possession.
the gwen death arc always make me very very sad. on original comics it make me stop reading spiderman comics for quite sometime, not that because of i hate the story, but the story is so good that i am to emotionally attach to gwen and peter, it just shocked me tp the very core of how unfortunate fate entangled them.
1. I own this book and it made me feel like crying especially the final chapter (I won't spoil) 2. Forget Charles and Magneto, give me Legion and Polaris talking about their fathers for a whole graphic novel and it ends with them fighting and tying and realizing they really are their dad's kids
Comicstorian, I really love Spider-Man Life Story, because it tells all the Spider-Man Storylines of Earth 616 like Spider-Man Unmasked (The Amazing Spider-Man #39), The Original Clone Saga, The Night Gwen Stacy Died, Secret Wars, Alien Costume Saga, Kraven's Last Hunt, One More Day, The 90s Clone Saga, Coming Home, Civil War and the Death Of Spider-Man (Ultimate Spider-Man) in one story in this universe where everybody ages naturally like normal people do in the real life. Interesting Fact: Do you guys know that in this universe the Fantastic Four disbanded after Reed Richards (formerly known as Mr Fantastic) pushed everyone he knew away over guilt over Doctor Doom. This also resulted in his wife Invisible Woman leaving him for Prince Namor of Atlantis.
@@codymaple1017 actually in this universe ever since Iron Man help the American Soldiers in the Vietnam War, he not only continued to build and manufacture Stark Industries Weapons for the army, he also convinced other super heroes like Giant Man (Henry Pym) to join the war except for Captain America because he decided to become neutral, you know be on both sides of the war.
BatOwlXV Well it does offer more protection and he’ll probably need more of it as he gets older so I wouldn’t be surprised to see an iron spider suit sometime in the 2000’s or 2010’s
great job on this video and when does the next one come out and when are you guys go to do the Black Cat Strike Back storyline for the Marvel's Spider-Man on you channel?
I am not a very emotional person but damn marvel comics get me, especially Spiderman's, his comic made me cry, I always feel so bad for Peter. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong because I hope I'm wrong but Spiderman's entire run from the moment he was first created to modern day,is tragic, he never gets a happy ending, he always ends up loosing everything he loves And yet he always goes back to being a hero, always puts others first Spiderman is mu favorite male marvel hero but, Peter, Peter is my hero
awesome video thanks comicstorian please cover the Soleil fantasy comics (dwarves, orcs & goblins, mages and elves) it´s not american but is awesome, and deserves more fans
I knew it.....I knew that the first story of Spider-Man is going to involve confusion, death, and sorrow for the Web-head...... because Spider-Man never truly gets a happy ending.....
I HAVE SOMETHING SEPARATE TO SAY INVOLVING (SPIDER-MAN LIFE STORY CLONE SAGA) Now I can imagine someday the next version of (SPIDER-MAN) cartoon show series; It could involve that version of SpiderMan he is accidentally sent to a different dimensional realm, and in that different dimensional realm there are a certain number of clones of (Peter Parker aka Spider-Man) secretly roaming around, and to add a number of problems that are caused by the responsibility of only four evil clones, and also to add one of the evil clones is infected by Venom.
I like how everytime the clone saga gets rewritten it gets exponentially shorter.
And better written
(hint) they touch on it later on , on the next couple of books.
Spider-Man: *does anything*
His villians: so I been dabbling in cloning
Nooo
**CLONE WARS**
I love this idea of "The superheroes actually age". As in one single continuity from the 60's all the way to the 2000's, no reboots.
Yea
No deal with the devils either.
Honestly I feel like this is how comics should be. Rather than having a status quo.

Yup his stories are more tragic than weird

I strangely like this version of the clone saga, and Gwen stacy's death. It was different and more impactful. Damn.
When he said hey MJ I immediately thought of Tobey Maguire's voice from the Sam Ramey universe the best Spider-Man lines

@INFERNO95 I would say Spectacular could have been if they allowed it to go on longer.
This is so convenient because I wanted to read the full comic a couple days ago
I had several mixed feelings about this, but I'm actually glad Ben got a happy ending. The guy had it so rough in the original timeline.
Yeah, um......just keep watching this story.
Yeah but then look at Peter ....
*laughs in chapter 4*
