It's more of the idea that he is the soul of the marvel universe. With soke exceptions, most marvel characters will kill foes when presented the chance. Spiderman is the paragon of good, and also why every comic you see Peter killing, is often one where something has gone terribly wrong, like zombies or itsy bitsy

What a good story. The good thing about this story is that u can enjoy it without prior information of other comics, and the problem which in this case was, who kidnapped aunt may?, got presented at the beginning and then solved at the end.
