Edit: 5/8 drill bit works great to get the tubes into the drain holes and stay there. This video helped me tremendously as opposed to the vague instructions.
Right on! Glad it helped! I just didn’t want to drill the bed for the small amount of water it might bring in. If I carried more sensitive cargo then yes drilling those out for the tubes is a good idea! Thanks!
Thank you. I just installed mine and I wish I had seen this video first. You are spot on with the safety eyelets needing to be installed first, otherwise you have to take everything apart and re-install.
very nice Jimmy! late to the party today, trying to get my brothers apartment ready in advance of him coming home! - today was haul 1993 f150 back to mine and James farm day, long hot day! thanks for the video! Hope you and your lovely wife have a great weekend!
I prefer those style bed covers as opposed to the vinyl style. They are better suited for the snow belt. I also prefer these over the fiber glass caps or toppers in case you have to haul tall items such as a refrigerator, engine hoist or air compressor.
Many years ago I was at the supermarket and I watched a lady changing a diaper in the back hatch of her suv, and when she was done she tossed the dirty diaper into the back of the pickup next to her! Unbelievable! Pick covers have come a long way!
I laid them in the front of the bed so they would fed to the factory drain holes without drilling them open. They could be opened up with a step drill bit fairly easily, just chose not to.
Thanks for that Jimmy. I looked at my 2024 Tundra and it looks like there’s only one drain hole in the front center. If you were to drill holes, where would you recommend putting them?
My pace edwards jack rabbit cover seemed to break at the 4th slat when the glue melted at the gate end..so for the 4th time I have to replsce the covet rails and roller box still.thete so a hr aught to do it..450 for the cover not bad but yes it rattles sometimes..basically it's a aluminum window blind with a glued plastic fabric top.lol..nice system but expensive..I like yours better😅
You paid $600 for the bed cover. A high end truck bed cover is $1100, "more than twice as much". Jimmy, admit it, you used your math book as a jack extension throughout high school. I'll bet it's still full of grease. The world needed a mechanic. There are plenty of math teachers.
Haha, yeah, math is actually one of my strong suits. Just misspoke. The really nice bed covers are $2000 but different words came out with the bad math, lol.
@@JimmyMakingitwork Okay, you're excused. I'm not surprised that you are good with math. The only math that I remember is: 9x7= 63, 9x8=72, 9x9=54. The teacher said that I was a special student. I took it to mean that I saw things differently.
I bought the same and installed it but does not seal tight and still has very little openings in corners and folds and allows water in. Putting more seals for more tight fit might solve the problem
Yeah, I don't think they are 100% water tight, but do deflect most rain water. I think the bed design would also allow a lot of water to drain under things in the bed, but I would not keep anything very fragile in it though.

Right on! Thanks Marty! :)

Yeah, really like not having it flap around on the highway. Thanks M!

I'll post an update soon. It's been holding up great so far!

that's not a lady , that's a pig 🐽😂🤣😅
Wow, exactly why I like to have a cover, lol.
What did you do with the drain tubes?
I laid them in the front of the bed so they would fed to the factory drain holes without drilling them open. They could be opened up with a step drill bit fairly easily, just chose not to.

You're a complete idiot.
