- WE IN L.A. MEDIA HELPED O.J. SIMPSON GET AWAY WITH IT: In the SportsCenter computer I read something that made my blood run cold. It was one line in a preliminary script for the 6:30 PM SportsCenter for Monday, June 14, 1994. O.J. Simpson’s wife and a man with her had been murdered. The script noted “Simpson is NOT a suspect.” What made my blood run cold was not the news of the murders. It was that phrase. It might as well have been “of COURSE Simpson is not a suspect.”
The problem was, I knew Simpson was a suspect because I had not a doubt in my mind that Simpson had butchered them because I knew what all of us who worked - or had worked - in L.A. media knew - that the O.J. Simpson known to the public, to TV audiences, movie audiences, sports audiences, was an utter fabrication. I knew he had hit his wife. I knew the authorities in Los Angeles had done nothing about it. I knew the sportscasters in Los Angeles - including me - had done nothing about it, though I wondered then and have known since that there was almost nothing WE could have done about it, legally.
I called a police source in L-A. "Whatever you do, DON’T say he’s a suspect. We’re terrified he’s going to run. This guy has make-for-the-border written all over him. Or off himself maybe. But yeah, maybe…” and he had had to stop himself from laughing… “maybe you want to drop that part about NOT a suspect. Jesus! Not a suspect? HE’S OUR ONLY SUSPECT."
I then had to explain it to executives - representative of the America of 1994 - who were still saying aloud "Poor O.J." There is no comparison to Simpson's fall in American history. And the system of the time was designed to protect him, the way the system of today protects similar scumbags.
ALSO: It's amazing that Shohei Ohtani could have so relied on his interpreter Ippei Mizuhara that basically nobody else could talk to Ohtani, and Mizuhara could exploit that reality to secretly steal millions from him. But the FIGURES involved are twice as amazing: $16,000,000 embezzled? 19,000 bets on sporting events in three years? Gambling wins and losses totaling $325,000,000?
AND THE THURBER STORY is how his assistant in 1941 embezzled the equivalent of a million-five from the founder of The New Yorker, so he could bet it all on... sporting events.

Coincidentally, when I made breakfast this morning I discovered the OJ in my fridge had expired as well...
Lol Thanks
Did you have to make a mad dash down to the store to get more? In your white Ford Bronco?
So does Donald Trump own a white Ford Bronco
At least O.J. can rest in peace now. knowing that his wife's killer is dead.
Trump has offered to pardon OJ.
When told OJ wasn't found guilty, he said.. "Well, that's just nuts!!"
😂👍
you could at least change a word or two
... but now he has to listen to her go on and on about it for eternity.
😅😅😅
When I was Lighting Barbara Walters for her Interview with Robert Shapiro, after he had stopped representing O.J., she asked him, off camera when the shoot was all over and we were resetting things. I was standing 3 feet from them and she asked him so why did you really stop representing him? Well, he said, it became next to impossible to defend him. Why, she asked. We as lawyers don’t want to know if a client actually did something because you have to change dramatically how you say things. First off, you can never LIE, so you cannot say things like, “My client is innocent!”.
So, enough said…
I'm screen grabbing that and sending it to friends. Thanks. Being a film guy, you might be interested in my short noir. Title is Bum Rap Andre Hunt. Here on Y.T.
Thanks for sharing. Love stories like this. 🌟‼️
In the USA, if you are rich, you are never guilty..
OJ was a really honest guy. In fact, the only time he ever fibbed was when he said he wasn't a murderer.
Hi Keith! I will never understand greed. It's obvious that trusting others is often a bad idea, when it involves money.
I wish humans realized, things that matter most are priceless.
Keith Olbermann, This is great! I liked it and subscribed!
The media is almost always complicit. Back when journalism existed to answer the 5 W’s, we were better informed. Now, instead of journalism, we have ‘media coverage,’ and few people know what to think. Completely different horse. 🇺🇸💙
Yes. To all. Thank you as always.
OJ Simson found karma after his acquittal. He had nothing but a downfall thereafter. His toxicity and narcissism caught up with him.
No J
I'll be tuning in 👍🏼💯
Isn't Friday's meeting of Mike Johnson and Donald Trump like a summit between a ventriloquist dummy and a ventriloquist dummy .
I think matryoshka dolls may be more apt considering who the puppet master is
@@expfcwintergreenv2.02 Excellent point !!
That is a grave insult to Charlie McCathy and Howdy Doody!
@MWhaleK Another excellent point !! Please excuse my absence of emotional intelligence in not being sensitive to a dummy's feelings .
@@expfcwintergreenv2.02 Russia Russia Russia!!! 😂
At last…KO and Jim Rome, who ironically enough, both were on the original version of ESPN2, finally agree on something: Orenthal James Simpson. (Notice I mentioned Simpson is something. That’s what you become when Axl Rose screams right in your face: TIME TO DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE !!! That’s right, SOMETHING.)
OJ went to find the killer in purgatory
Nordberg was guilty AF!
🤣😂🤣
No new sins only new sinners
The man's dead, Keith.
Let it _(and him)_ rest.
F NO!!
❤😎👍
I hate to say this and people will think that I am a racist, I am not, but I knew that he would not be convicted as soon as the first black juror was seated.
The juice is expired
They should also examine his brain for CTE
OJ was suffering from head trauma.
Aaron Hernandez didn't handle things well either .
So what?
You still probably treated OJ closer to how he should have been than the sports media in South Florida when he moved there.
The word "sycophants" doesn't begin to describe the way they sucked his backside.
Maybe University of Miami players accused of rape were treated better but not by a lot.
He. Is. Dead
I watched almost the entire OJ criminal trial. What happened was that the prosecution failed to present its case and prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt except that LA cops are racist and corrupt. The prosecution failed. Therefore, by law, OJ was not guilty. Later he was found culpable in a civil trial, as civil trials use a lower standard of guilt, requiring only a predominance of the evidence. But criminally, the guy was literally not guilty. Officer Furman seemed a more likely culprit at the time. That tiny little drumpf-sized glove was the icing on the cake. Only a fool would think that a person comitting the act would have gloves that were too small to wear and then leave one of them, bloody, in an obscure place on the property, a place that Furman, the klan kop, went to in a bee-line and found with no trouble. No, the whole thing reeked of BS. The prosecution made the glove seem like it had been planted. We let Officer Furman get away with it.
The earth is NOT FLAT!!
This isn't Keef Richards?
Is it hard not to rant about Orange Man? Oh wait you got OJ.
An unexpected choice of Orange . 🍊 Very astute .
The defendant is an anchor dragging the maga party to it's death while they refuse to let go and insist that anchors float.
@@ttomgast1769 - Actually, 'time' got O.J., and *that's* something TFG should be 'bigly' worried about.⏳
Keith, big fan, but be honest with yourself and don’t try to gaslight us about your coverage of the Ohtani-Mizuhara story.
You all BUT accused Ohtani of being guilty, or at least complicit, in prior reporting.
Who watches him, and honestly agrees with the information he gives out?
I wish I could contact you. I have a small baseball card collection I'd like to give you. I don't know if it has anything good but I'm spring cleaning and emptying out stuff. You got a P.O. box, I'll pack em up and ship them to you.
Go away tds
BOT that just repeats the same thing over and over.
@@BDot-dv7lq not the first thing you have wrong....nice to see you upvoted your own uninformed comment....reveals how insecure you are....go away tds.
Keef hates himself.
He’s dead now, just let it go.
So are the people he murdered, so no.
Can't get away that easy. Needs to carry the guilt with him all the way down to Hell.
F NO!!
@@charlesfaure1189 he’s dead so…no more guilt carrying.
So washed up. Just retire.
