It will remember the mode where the stereo was the last time. Next time when you turn on the car, the stereo will be in Android Auto mode, if that is what you have been using before.

Your website says it's compatible with the RX300 screen and original head unit. Given the fact that the Rx300 touch screen is ancient is this really possible?

No you can't as the stereo can only be in one mode at a time. You can play any music apps using VLine, that includes FM radio app if desired. Also Tunein or WebRadio have access to myriad of the internet radios. The music and maps in such case can work simultaneously.
Probably worth mentioning that you lose visual capabilities of climate control when in v-line mode. Probably one of the most inconvenient things I’ve had to deal with since install.
@@gromaudio Yes, I have been made aware. I'm just saying that it would be good for {potential} customers to know so they aren't inconvenienced after the fact. Especially since there are other stereo systems out there that allow you to keep the climate control & main menu as part of the CarPlay interface.

Are you able to use the rx 350 mouse inside the vLine system or does it only work outside? Just curious. Definitely going to get this.
You can use RX mouse with VLine system in all modes, same as on the factory features.
Do you have to press the USB key everytime you start the car or it automatically takes you to the android auto menu?

In some stereos to get to the visual AC controls you need to press MENU->CLIMATE
