2010 at 235,000 miles - it’s been through my wife’s daily driver, older daughter’s high school car then college car, younger daughter’s high school car, and will be her college car after this year, for her last 3 years. Dead solid to 200k, AC compressor at 200k, finally a rough patch at 230k - rear shock, rusted exhaust. None of these listed issues.
That oil leak was because the original design of the VVT-I oil line was made of a combination of metal and rubber. The redesigned replacement oil line was made of all metal and works perfectly fine. What you forgot to mention was there is another high pressure oil line coming off of the oil cooler. That one was also originally made of metal and rubber but has been redesigned after 2011 and now made of all metal. So when you say they still had the same problem with a massive oil leak It's NOT because the redesigned VVT-I oil line still leaks, It's because the oil line that runs out of the oil cooler also develops massive leaks because the original design was also made of metal and rubber. The revised all metal part is only about $75 from Toyota and Is very easily accessible to get to just by removing 1 or 2 of the bottom plastic covers. About one hour of labor unlike the VVT-I oil line replacement labor time that take many hours.
We have a 2010 RX 350. Was my daily driver. Our daughter drove it for 4 years during her medical school. At 130K, we replaced the brakes and shocks. The A/C died. Dealer quoted $3400 to replace the compressor and clutch. Local small garage replaced for about $1800. Plan to keep the car for another four years as the daughter finishes her residency. Other than these repairs, the car still drives like new, smooth as butter. No rattles. Paint looks great. Seats are almost new looking. Love it.
lol I have had this car for 8 years now with none of these issues. Brakes change and oil changes and gas has been my expenses. This car is super reliable.
Hey everyone with a 2013 RX 350 or Sport, greatest vehicle on the road! If you have. trouble with your rear hatch not opening with the power motor; there is a reset button in the glove compartment on the left side that resets the power lift motor. It is amazing thing to find! I have 125K mile on my Lexus and not a single problem except for the struts on the hood, witch I fixed with a light bamboo pole! and changed out the battery and one headlight.
there is recall till end of 2021, owners please catch it up: Lexus is also offering free replacement of the variable valve timing (VVT-i) oil supply hose for 2007 through 2009 models until December 2021. Though the Lexus RX has seen few recalls, the 2007 and 2010 models were part of the Lexus unintended acceleration recall
I have two 2010 RX350. 1 over 180k miles, and the other just over 100k miles. No issue so far, and my mechinical told me he just changed oil for another RX350 that is over 500k miles. Told me this is a keeper car.

@@350zlover2 around what age or mileage should you have to worry about this oil leak lines problem? Or is a ticking timebomb and can happen at anytime? Reason I ask is I'm considering a purchase of a 2013 that has a great service record with 63k.
The only issue we had with our 2015 RX350 (so far!) is the transmission had a weird slip around 25 mph. Took it to Lexus, who replaced the transmission with a factory rebuilt one, free of any charge since it was at about 55,000 miles. Love your videos! Just did the oil change today using your GREAT video. Thank You!!!
I am driving a 2013 RX350, had none of these issues except for the leaky vvti line lower connection passenger side. Fixed it myself for $1 only, it was the gasket washer which is easy to change. As long as the lines are metallic ones, this is no problem at all. I heard about some versions of RX350 with rubber vvti lines which I think are the dangerous ones. Other problems exist though, like there is a weak point on radiator body near the cap. It will leak some coolant yet it is easily fixable. Sorry to say it, but the review was not objective.
My 2013 lexus rx 350 has been flawless. I haven't had any of those issues mentioned in the video. I have 107K miles on the vehicle. One thing to note is the AC is bomb ass Cold in 105 degree plus weather . This car has the best AC I've ever had in my 50 years of driving and owning cars.
Just wanted to add Sunroof Drain clogging causing serious flooding of the interior. Its not just specific to this lexus/toyota though. So make sure your drains are cleared out once a year if you park outside.
😃 These must be problems with THAT RX350. I have a 2010 and @ 100k +, recently drove it from DC to FL & back and have NEVER had these or any issues from day one. *My advice? When Lexus sends u that maintenance reminder, have em come get ur vehicle and drop off that loaner... 👌🏽*
I just bought a 2013 RX450H and my biggest problem is that I find it awkward driving around with a boner everywhere I go. This is the greatest vehicle ever made 😀
CHECK YOUR SUNROOF DRAIN SYSTEM!!! My whole carpet was flooded because of it. I had to tear the interior apart to take it out, wash it and install it back. Not fun at all. Ended up with taping my sunroof with heavy duty rv type tape. I don't use the sunroof anyway so just don't want to deal with it anymore. There is so much electrical parts on the floor and hybrid batteries as well.
A major issue for me is the really rough transmission shifting at low speeds with the 8-speed transmission on the F Sport. Not exaggerating - it feels like you're driving over rumble strips while it's hunting for a gear to shift up to. Excellent car other than that!
For me the major problem that scares me is the loss of oil , that's beyond troubling for such a luxurious brand like lexus I can only see this thing causing more issues in the near future .

The oil leak issue is with the RX350 from 2007-2009 (2nd gen).
Yes my 2008 had the problem. They fixed it on the 3rd gen
