    Once the flax seeds cools, you can mix it with the aloe vera, to save time and you can keep it in the fridge for whatever you want to use it. Also next time boil the seeds with some cloves. And strain it like normal. The cloves is a extra power house for the hair.

    I just made this the correct way. Use 2-1/4 cups water, and 1/4 cup flaxseeds. As soon as the water gets slightly slimmey, remove the pot from the stove and let it cool off for only 10 minutes. The longer you let it cool the thicker the gel will gets and the harder it is to strain. Then strain it into a bowl.

  • @newlifetabernaclebogwalkja6568
    @newlifetabernaclebogwalkja6568 3 роки тому +71

    I realize most persons wait until the seeds cool before straining. However its best once you boil it you can strain it hot. It strains out better tgat way. You just let it cool and it will thinken up. When you boil flaxseed at times it doesn't seem to be thickning up after 15 min to 20 min but after straining hot as mentioned and then cooling it you'll see it. That how i do it works. Too much work to cool it and the try strain. It slips through strainer when hot.

    Try straining the flakseed gel whilst still hot and you get more gel out of it and less messy.
    Next tip, you can try applying flakseed gel on your hair next time without any cream first, it still gives you that beautiful shine and obedient curls.

I use a mesh strainer immediately after boiling then let the gel cool in a container that can handle heat.. I have heard of some people buying a strainer that fits over the pot then boil the seeds in the strainer.

  • @Bizz2k

    You let it cool after few minutes of pouring the flaxseed into the boiling water. Then set it aside to cool. As it cools off, the watery consistency of flaxseed begins to thicken up. Then you pour into a tight sieve or stocking to squeeze out more of the gel.

    Hi, thanks for this vid! I had a similar experience first time I made flaxseed gel in that it came out much darker than I expected from the vids I'd seen previously. Turns out there's 2 types of flaxseeds, brown and golden... guess which ones I'd been using! Also, if you use the golden ones and add hibiscus it's comes out a lovely pink colour, unless you're heavy handed like me, in which case it comes out properly RED...
