Great to see these videos. I lived in Europe for 5 years while in the army and never seen anyone cut the lawn or hedges. I thought elves did it when I was a asleep or at work :)
Thanks for posting that video. I have a couple of conifer hedge reductions booked in the next few weeks and I've picked up some great tips from watching you work. Keep posting more videos, mate because they're a huge help for me.
Have you seen that new bit of kit. I think it's called the elephant. It's a back pack type of thing with an aluminium pole that comes up from the back pack behind you. Theres a caribina clip that attaches to your long pole saw that gives you an extra 2-3ft reach with the benefit of not having to carry the weight on your arms. Clever bit of kit .
Yes Ken they have been around for quite a while now..To be honest I just never fancied using one and just think they could be a nuisance BUT as I say I've never used one so could be completely surprised 💪💪
Nicely done, I know what you mean about the cheap chainsaw, I have one but I also bought a small husky and take both for the day when the cheapo packs up. Best regards Mick.
Hi lee, I’m a relatively new subscriber and fairly new to gardening (I’m 44) gradually building up some work and buying equipment etc. Have so much to learn and am all the time. As a relative novice, could I ask the advantage of doing this job with loppers and hand saw as opposed to the mini chainsaw attachment? Thanks for your time and live watching your channel for inspiration of a job well done!
Great job Lee, I have trouble starting my cheap chainsaw, makes me want to launch it over a hedge! I recently bought a extendable stihl battery pole saw for those type of jobs, what a difference. Saves me straining to reach the awkward branches and stop that ladder wobble.. The chipper you use, is that good for thick branches, is it easily portable and what is it please?
Yes we don’t actually advertise, all word of mouth recomended. Or the job next door picked up from current customers. Fourth year in business and now fully booked this season with only a few slots for about 4 small makeovers a year. 😊
I've had a chainsaw from Aldi and it was great. A bit underpowered but half decent. I've also had a Stihl chainsaw and was nothing but problems. Sometimes cheap doesn't mean you buy twice. Good job again LHL. More info on top dressing please. I can't seem to buy quality top dressing and we work in the same area, any hints on where you get yours from? Don't worry I'm no competition for you! Keep up the good work.
Do you ever have problems with mowing/aerate/scarify people's back lawns in terms of access to back yard? I dropped off my leaflets but most houses don't have front gardens and have poor access to back yard!
If you ever do any more leaflet drops it may be a good plan to think if you can actually get your equipment into the area you hope to work on otherwise you are just wasting your time. I have been a gardener for thirty years and have never used leaflets . You have to pay to have them printed then give up your time when you should be earning to go round distributing them I
Hi lee.1st time commenter.do you ever have problems collecting money from these new customers..If theyre only getting you a once off they might dodge paying..has it ever happened? George ireland.love the videos.
Wouldn’t you be better with two ladders and aluminium boards in between to stand on,your up and down like a yo-yo .i did one before I used three ladders and four boards ,it ended up like a brickies scaffold worked great little bit of effort setting up
fair enough, are you looking for another man? (not looking for a job well to far away anyway) i really enjoy your vids, i i think you run a very professional well presented business. i know you dont talk prices but i would love to pick your brains on a few things hopefully ill see you at saltex? keep up the good work.
Not telling u how to do ur job mate good work but when u cut on pavement if u put a sheet down all clippings fall into that and just pick that up. Saves time pal straight onto next job

Totally agree, getting a comfortable position is very important, over stretching/reaching means its going to hurt at some point.

I would have used a small chainsaw but it broke on that job (it's on the video) so I used next best thing 👍
That’ll teach me for asking a question before watching the whole video.... 😐 👍
@@MrNigey147 you're not the first ....you wont be the last 🙈👍

Hi Lee... brilliant job...what do you do with all the chippings?..you must get tons of them..
Hi Gary.. thanks pal 👍.. If we can't use the chipping at the job.. then we use them to top up our maintenance jobs that we have mulched 👍👍
Do you ever have problems with mowing/aerate/scarify people's back lawns in terms of access to back yard? I dropped off my leaflets but most houses don't have front gardens and have poor access to back yard!
The odd one may be but can get access to 99%. Maybe choose a better (more affluent) area to leaflet ??
If you ever do any more leaflet drops it may be a good plan to think if you can actually get your equipment into the area you hope to work on otherwise you are just wasting your time.
