I’ve discovered that bus lane roads are useful in industry as well. Deliveries and turns are allowed into/out of the red lane one node before/after their stop/turn leaving the middle lanes for through traffic and the sides for stopping.

That's a tough question. If I were to list a top 3, I'd probably go with plazas and promenades, industries, and green cities, but there are so many good ones and a lot of it comes down to personal preference.
Excellent tips! Will be sure to use some of these when the PS5 version releases this week. Hope to see some more of your videos return, with the console versions new lease of life :)

Is there a way to fix trafic on consoles? For small cities it's OK but if I grow a city, the cars will despawn while driving and won't reach the destination so no more goods delivered and no more workers available (trafic is around 85% so it's pretty ok) please help! 😣
There are ways to fix traffic on console, but it's hard to say what the best fix for you would be without seeing your city. The most common problem I see is a lack of alternative routes. If a lot of traffic wants to go between point a and point b, but there are only 1 or 2 possible routes, then all of that traffic is forced into the same place. Providing more routing options will often help spread that traffic out and help free up any choke points. Another common problem is poor road hierarchy. I won't try to explain road hierarchy here, but if it's something you are not familiar with, I reccomend looking into it, as it can really help. Finally, don't underestimate the power of getting the traffic off the roads. Provide plenty of alternatives to driving. Cims will walk, cycle, or take mass transit if the options are available and accessible to them and every journey not driven will help your traffic. Sorry I can't be more specific for you, but hopefully this helps.
@@dedubsplays...8284 Thanks for the really helpful reply! My city is decided into 5/6 small "towns" with highway between them. Inside the towns the traffic is ok, on the highway its fine... But I see cars disappear if I follow them. The comercial sector has no freight and industry has too much. I tried trains and planes but it only helps a bit and I can't have two of them in the same area, they only use one. Thanks for the help! And keep posting 😉
It will. You can use the trick for perfect 45 degree angles and place short pieces of road to give you marker guide lines before you draw the roundabout and then you can place the extra nodes in the exact position for 45° angles.
@@Maestro1880 it will. You can clean it up with the floating garbage collectors from green cities, but again, that requires the DLC. Unfortunately, options are limited without some DLC 😕
@@Maestro1880 No problem. You'll also get less polluted water if you use the eco water outlet, which will make it easier to clean with the floating garbage collectors.
The 8th along, the 'overhead road'. This is good, I just made one around 30 steps in length, for the industry. HOWEVER, there is no way I can currently see whereby if the traffic wanted to get on or off early then they cannot do so. Mmm, just thought whilst writing... maybe if I try changing the look of the bridge by upgrading it. Anyhow, its a good bridge but clearly by isolated situations, which also tampers with overhead power lines crossing over and 'building' to the edge of the road. Just a few observations so far. PS: AM ON THE PS5.
Roundabout "bracing" is as far as i can tell a really old and widespread trick. I ve been doing it for years but i dont think i was first. Its one of those tricks that is rather intuitive and plenty have come up with it independently of each other. EDIT: Oh and btw, you might find this trick intersting if you havent seen it already. Its actually using what happens when you dont brace the roundabout properly to create smoother network junctions ;) ua-cam.com/video/gdNgreVvsAU/v-deo.html

@dedubs... I've just been messing about with creating a small pond as a test, and might need you to test a bit more but what I found is that if you first line your hole with the big boulders, ensuring all overlapped, then use a water outlet to fill it and then turn it off, it appears in my tests to retain the water, I'll let you know how long it lasts... Just built in 2040 so I'll keep an eye to see if it works 💦

Unfortunately we don't have access to the workshop on console. The only option we have is the bridges and piers DLC.
