    Many valid points, and core question is this - why doesn't the manufacturer update the end customer directly, including automated software updates that do not require dealer / service centre / workshop visits. To understand this better, please look at the typical B2C method of buying something like an apartment or white goods - wherein the responsibility/accountability is from manufacturer to end user.
    In motor vehicles (almost all of them in India, other than probably Ola Electrical Scooters) the legacy relationship is a mix of Manufacturer overlord but in actual fact the relationship is B2B2C where you as a customer have bought something from the Dealer Principal and so the Manufacturer can claim that liabilities also passed to the Dealer Principal.
    So now - who sends the software updates to the customer, the manufacturer or the dealer? Do read the fine print in the owner's manual as well as some legal decisions in this matter.
    It is in the manuffacturer's interest to distance himself from customer liabilities as much as possible
    It is in the dealer's interest to get the vehicle back to the dealership as much as possible
    What is the customer's interest?
    In older times, simpler vehicles, post warranty - people often did not go back to authorised dealers for obvious reasons.
    Now, if software updates are locked in with dealer visits for whatever reason, "have a nice day".
    I guess competition in days going forward will sort out things along the lines of the MGP (Maruti Genuine Parts) programme, where their spare parts are available all over the place, and as for software updates, their cars are simply not that complex even now.

    I couldn't quite understand your statement about 20kw ac charger. My electricity bill, MSEB, Maharashtra says that I have 7.5kw connection. How can I install 20kw charger? Is this 20kw charger that you mentioned is for commercial places with higher capacity?
    You are doing great service to EV community 👍🏼. Apart from the points you have mentioned, I think that availability of fast charges every 100kms will really change the picture. Range anxiety will disappear. Government needs to focus on that aspect while promoting EVs.

    • @mviv6339
      @mviv6339 2 роки тому

      old nexon ev has capability to charge at max 3.7 kw with AC charger. No point in buying a bigger sized home charger.
      The new max version has capability of 7 kw AC charging. So for max one can buy a 7 kw charger , just be aware of single phase and 3 phase constraints if any.
      The other imported cars might be having capability to charge at higher rates with AC chargers.

    • @udaysawant2094
      @udaysawant2094 2 роки тому

      @@mviv6339 my question was not on the car side but on the electricity supply side. How can you get 20kw from the equipment when only 7.5kw is supplied by electricity provider. Offcourse I understand that other places may have higher capacity as standard.

    • @asheesharoraEV
      @asheesharoraEV 2 роки тому

      Hi Uday ..
      22kw AC Charger was mentioned first for vehicles like BYD, Audi GT series etc .. which are capable enough of converting the 22kw of AC to DC .. Yes it would be necessary for one to apply or get the required load added for being able to utilise a 22kw AC charger to it maximum limit.. (the vehicle needs to be having an equal kW of convertor too)
      However, one is able to use more load than what has been sanctioned, but the panelties are pretty high .. so not recommended for sure ..
      I mentioned that a lot of value could have been added to the electric vehicles if they all or most of them had been fitted with an On board charger of 22kw or above .. A battery of 40kwh (like of a Nexon EV Max or a Kona) would get easily charged completely in about 2 hours .. Many fast chargers would not be required .. the viability of a return from an AC charger is much better if compared with a DC charger .. so they would have made better business sense any day ..

      @@udaysawant2094 3 phase 7.5 kw connection provides peak load of 22kw to use that we need 22kw ac wall charger and car inbuilt capacity of ac to dc conversation of that rate.

    Problem with ev - even if one cell dies, let alone any other glitch, the car won't move at all. Advantage with fuel car - till engine don't fail, the car will keep going. Won't leave you in the middle of the road. This alone is the most dreadful and important advantage a fuel car has over EV.

    • @asheesharoraEV
      @asheesharoraEV 2 роки тому +1

      Doctor Saheb !!
      I am sure a lot of things these days in one's house use batteries .. Not that you stop using them .. Balancing of cells is something which happens over every charge you do till 100% .. If the tech is used in a proper manner, I don't think it would give problems .. ICE vehicles get stranded too .. Trust me service centres are full of them .. apart from servicing, they go for repairs too .. if a ignition fuse blows in an ICE Vehicle, it won't start either .. I been driving this Nexon EV since August 2020 .. and trust me I faced a minor problem only once since then .. Yes, at this point of time the infra is not as great as it could have been but it's on a rapid growth and in 3-6 months .. you would have no reason left for not purchasing an EV .. And after that you would not only save a lot over your running cost but also you would ride with pride .. #GreenerIndia

    • @MrKhabbu
      @MrKhabbu Рік тому

      No it is not true . Just one cell will not get you stranded like you say. Yes this can happen in a petrol or ice engine and more so in the modern cars where no one has a clue. If is stalled on the road it has to be towed to the dealership and it will take them time to diagnose what is wrong.

      @@vaibhavsingh6336 my hometown is 130kms from nearest fast charger. How do I go there? It is 500kms from Mumbai. Many people in India may have similar situation. What do they do?
      I can manage that situation by keeping 130km worth of charge when I reach my destination. But then I can't take out my car for anything else at my hometown. More importantly I still have to be anxious about range.
      With Nexon I can go to interior towns of India and not have to worry about charging. It works even with low voltage. Sure it takes longer but it will charge the car, as long as there is 15amp plug.
      It's not East or West. Just big town hopping that can be achieved with BYD. Sure, there are some scenarios where having 500kms range is a boon. But it comes at cost of some other constraints that can hurt other scenarios.
