I don't know when did I get out of the matrix, but lately I'm getting recommended amazing small channels like these featuring great content. Keep up the good work.
People have to be real with themselves and realize it’s the way they perceive the reviews that holds them back. It’s not the reviews, so the reviewers shouldn’t be blamed. I don’t hear any reviews about how you have to buy an fx30 because the gh5 isn’t good enough, or to buy this and buy that. They are just reviewing the gear. I do agree with the sentiment of this though, well said overall
Its because people have learned to rely on gear and image quality to hold an audience attention, rather than story. Things like good AF, good screens, good dynamic range. They feel their skills are not enough so they use the equipment's features to boost what they can produce. Without all the extra features they don't feel as confident to create, in case it turns out "bad" without the assistance features. Which again negatively inpacts their confidence in their skill and they feel they need to rely on gear and so the cycle continues. It is so hard to to break the cycle, or even know you are in the cycle. If you have good core skills, the gear matters far less and you can use the older kit confidently knowing your skills are creating quality which allows more time to focus on getting the story elements better which in turn creates the better end result.
as somebody who rocks a 10000 camera setup in the Ronin 4D let me tell you new technology does not equate to better video picture always the reason that I rock my camera specifically wasn't because it had some amazing sensor or that it had some ridiculous High frame rate shooting capability the reason that I chose the camera I chose was due to the functionality that it gives that no other camera can give however if I wouldn't have went for the Ronin 4D I would have went for a Sony fs7 Mark 2 even though the camera is very old now it is still one of the best cameras in the world and while the fx6 has a couple of features that would be nice to have and the fact that it's full frame of course but other than that the difference is between the two are truly so minuscule in terms of shooting quality and the ability to rigged the cameras out did I much rather have an fs7 Mark II over a single fx6 or a single fx9 because the difference in price doesn't equate to a difference in usability pretty much what I'm saying is we've come into an era where cameras from 10 years ago are still very good and now with very affordable if you look back let's say 10 years the difference between an fs7 Mark II and some of the very first digital Sony cameras on the market was night and day you couldn't tell me that one was remotely close to the other however nowadays while you will notice a difference in sharpness and you might notice a difference in color accuracy for the most part at a glance you're not going to be able to tell the difference I mean you've watched cartel land everybody has that was fs7 mk 1s and that show holds up to this day however if you were to look at 08 footage of anything you could tell right away that that camera is of a lower quality than anything on the modern Market however that's just not the case with any camera produced 2014 and on if you are purchasing a used cinema camera that was manufactured from 2014 and onwards and it has 4K capability then it's more than likely going to hold up in modern camera manufacturers know this and that's why they spend so much of their budget advertising now in 2014 you didn't see a cinema camera advertisements like this you didn't see UA-cam channels worrying about what Cinema Camera you should buy because back then Not only was it inaccessible to a general audience but even the cameras that were more quote on quote accessible we're already well-known amongst the people who were going to be buying them back then there was so much actual like night and day Innovation happening that the cameras practically sold themselves however now the Innovation from some of these companies like Sony is actually stagnating it's not that they're not innovating but those massive leaps people got used to for the 4 years between 2014 and 2018 just aren't happening as much anymore
Correction:
The lumix gh5 goes for $700-800 not 500.
Still a great price.

Thank you so much for your kindness! I really appreciate it!
Maybe they're tweaking the algorithm because I also notice a lot more small channels popping up in my feed, not complaining!

@Eyeofkamau Thank you. I tried to be biased free. Gh5 still hold ups incredibly well in 2024.
