“...Instead of thinking of the undone things of today I’m thinking of the done things of God yesterday...”
On why we first of all give thanks
guten stuffen!
I listen on kfuo and then listen the second time here.
Gotta give thanks to God for you the Angel of Hope Lutheran and your congregation. You Luthertubers brings many blessings, both Law and Gospel to us Merican Evanjelly refugees. Keep up the good work. Amen.
Gentle William Gammeter.....Merican Evanjelly refugee....LOL...I'm one....thank you for the laugh those words gave me this morning....wish I could put a weeping laughing smile here.,
Hi Pastor! My husband and I attended your church in Colorado for a short time - 😁 - but I would be curious about how to start introducing my 3 year old to Jesus ... it’s seems so easy to skip over, and leave undone. But it weighs on my heart and mind - any resources you or your wife could recommend?
Thank you for your service
Thank you for this most beautiful study. God bless and continue to strengthen you.
In my ex ''evangelical'' church the pastor begun to move to a pentecostal/charismatic way and preaching that praying is what we have to do collectively so that God be persuaded we want Him and after He is persuaded He sends us His ''flames'' and blessings. As such he meant church's material prosperity and growing of the church's influence to the society. He used the word ''explosion'' will happen. How different is this from the way the Reformation sees what praying means and is.
Gentle Pastor...If I don't feel 'thankful to God for the gift (of a problem/trouble in my life) and I say thank you to God trying to 'be thankful in all things'... isn't this action lying to God? It feels like a lie. I'm an American Evangelical Refugee who was pickled in theology tied tightly to one's feelings. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.
As a 3-year Lutheran and recovering Baptist, my layman's view is that it's not about actually feeling thankful for a problem. But about putting feelings aside & trusting God even in the midst of the stress & the bad feelings. If you are like me, you've been taught to tie all good things to God but to hear nothing about the bad things except: try harder pray harder do better and gin up more faith in your heart & God will reward you etc. But really we should know that all humans receive both blessings and sufferings regardless of their faith. Being a believer isn't a ticket to a better life. So as a Lutheran I'm learning to pray differently when things are really bad: more wisdom, more courage in the face of the bad thing, the ability to better put my selfish needs aside, & then move to thankfulness for the things both smaller than and larger than the Big Problem At Hand. Most especially for the hope of the life everlasting & the new world to come. Hope this helps & anybody is welcome to correct me
Gentle @@LinNoOne ...thank you for your kind words.
Thank you, Pastor.
Thanks for the Word. Gratitude and thankgiving.
Thanks pastor. Keep it up! May God bless you all, faithful pastors, and profs like dr Kleinig.
Pastor Bryan, can you please enlighten us regarding our calling. Are we supposed to serve God in a special calling like doing mission or ministry? Will we be purposeless if we don't have a calling? Thanks. I thank God for you.
This is good stuff
That was a good one!!
Very encouraging. Thankyou.
well done
Another wonderful teaching and preaching time. I can almost see the heavens opened when you make everything so plain. Thank you.
I like kale.
Haha. This gave me chuckle. (Me too, btw...and broccoli and brussel sprouts, too.)
I am thankful for the Godly men given to us to teach us and ease our consciences through the Gospel. Thanks, Pastor.
